Crazy. Just when Geno smith was supposedly finding a some form according to preseason reports.JDizzle wrote:Geno Smith out for 6-10 weeks after one of his, now ex, teammates sucker punched him in the locker room. Unbelievable.

Smacked over not paying a guy $600 apparently.
In fairness to Geno, I'd be saving every penny I could if I was playing quarterback as poorly as him.

Apparently Geno threw a punch back but it landed at Eric Decker's feet.

Unsurprisingly a case with no direct evidence and made up of assumptions is not being received well by a federal judge.
Oh and the NFL has just cited the Ray rice case as defence for Goodell handing down suspensions. You know the one that got reduced in court

He cheated. He knew about the deflation of the balls, refused to hand over the evidence.

The NFL has no case. Ted Wells report is worthless, just as it was when he produced another favorable report about the Incognito incident.

He probably did know about the deflation of balls - but there's no direct evidence for this, and like GSC says the report is worthless.
Let alone the fact the whole investigation took place even Carolina/Minnesota were given a 25k fine for tampering with football's earlier in the season, no investigation.
To be honest I just hope they come to a settlement and the whole ridiculous story can be over.

Oh agreed, from a case standpoint the NFL is dead in the water. It really is ridiculous.
But Brady did cheat, everyone knows that.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
What have the Bears done recently and which teams are the ones to watch this season?
I haven't been paying much attention to the teams this year since it was hard for me to get over Marshall.
So wondered if anyone could catch me up?

The Bears have kept Jay Cutler and lost Brandon Marshall. That's all you need to know.
For all other enquiries, refer to the news

Bears GM Ryan Pace says possibility Kevin White could miss entire season.
In more general news, if anyone's a bit intimidated by the existing threads but looking for a(nother) fantasy league; still 4 expansion spots open in the IDP league (advertising slogan: "It's The One With JJ Watt In It").

A big loss. Devin Funchess did ok in their preseason game last week. They could always look as someone like Wes Welker.Pr4wn wrote:Kelvin Benjamin. Ouch.

I'm not sure about Funchess. He's big, sure, but he's not all that fast. Plus, teams can just focus on him if he's that good.

At the 2014 Rookie Symposium, Cris Carter and Warren Sapp instructed rookies to get a fall guy in case they got into any legal trouble. The above video was on NFL.com until this afternoon, when they deleted it.

To be fair, Sapp didn't open his mouth and looked a bit shocked when Carter started his soliloquy. Bridgewater was like "wtf am I doing here?".

No SNF on Ch4 then? Shame. It was a good show with the right mix of action and ads. Eurosport still have MNF?

Looks like you can probably add Ahmad Brooks to the list of people that won't be playing in San Francisco this season.

My purchase is looking better value for money already now that it is the only way I can watch the NFL now!

Yes. Plus NFL Network live and an archive of shows like Hard Knocks, A Football Life, Total Access and much more. You can watch any game from the past 5 years on demand too if that's what you're into. No need for Sky Sports at all and I would urge everyone to buy it.

So RG3 after seemingly having recovered from his concussion sufficiently to practice normally this week now seemingly has significant enough symptoms to miss the rest of preseason.... funny that.

Re: Ongoing NFL Discussion Thread V
Have just found out the news that SNF will be shown on Sky Sports. That is interesting considering Channel 4 were sending this email out to people:-
"Thank you for contacting Channel 4 Viewer Enquiries regarding NFL: American Football Live
We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed that we are not going to be broadcasting coverage of the forth coming NFL season. Please be advised that the reason for that is because we no longer hold the rights to this particular event. We can confirm that the BBC will be broadcasting coverage of this year's games."
I wonder if that is still a possibility?

Nope. Not a chance. Sky have been having a big song and dance about all the NFL they will have for the next two seasons.

Oh Washington: http://deadspin.com/wife-of-skins-gm-apologizes-for-accusing-espn-reporter-1728376386
There’s no point in even writing a joke here in the kicker, as nothing I could write would be funnier than the actual real life situations this football team gets itself into.

And we'd done so well keeping the team out of the news until last week. Now it's like a pot boiling up - things keep spilling out and they can't seem to turn it off.
