Player's Player Of The Year Empty Player's Player Of The Year

Post by Great White Fri 27 May 2011, 11:52 am

As a Tigers fan, i was greatly pleased to see 'The Tank' pick up this award, but I have to say, was seriously suprised, he was up against some pretty stiff competition there.

Also, Kudos to Manu, for the award, and for the public apology.

He had a great season to be fair. Do international honours await?

I would be suprised - this year at least. It would be too much trouble on here anyway, the agro we'd get about kiwis playing for England would be non stop.

He has had a brilliant season but I agree with you GW, this year I think would be too soon for international honours. Will be interesting if he does ever get the opporunity to play what he'd do then. Be nice to see how he develops in the future, definitely one to watch thumbsup

At 28 years old he'd be a nice fairly experienced guy to take the reins at 8 when Easter fades off post RWC

He's powerful and deceptively quick for such a big man. And lets not mince our words, he's 'big.

He remind me of Dean Richards but I not seen him play that much - is he in the same class?

I think Manu's apology looked very heart felt and waldrom derserved his award. If anyone is interested this is the second time Leicester have won both players player and young player award; the first was in 2005 when corry and ellis got them.

Isn't it a shame though that from a player base of over 150,000 senior male players we can't produce more of our own players deemed good enough for the national side?

The return of the Pink Panther or one of them[Brother Scott being the other, because of the pink scrumcaps.Fifty odd Super 14 caps with Hurricanes /Crusaders. Looked a little overweight back then but got around the park well.Never in the All Black frame really, but there never short of good loosies.Good luck to him if he starts for England, the rules of qualification are the same for every one.

I have to agree SB, because the runner up to that prize in my book would be Nick Evans, who is for me close to being the second best fly half in the world.
