Ben Morgan out for about 6 months. Who should take his place?
First topic message reminder :
With Ben Morgan going off injured this week end, it look like he could be out for about 6 months. Who should be his replacement?
The Natural choice would be Bill V. But who should be on the bench?
Is this the time to give Nick Easter a return to the England set up.
Thomas Waldram? Since his move to the chiefs he has been playing out of his skin.
Will SL swallow his pride and Call up Stephen Armatage? surely if any one should be given a chance it is him.
Who do you think should take Ben Morgans place?

I just don't get Easter, form or not its a huge backward step and surely there must be younger options that don't run in slow motion.

I am sure there are, I'm not one of them and not many are. Easter may be a tad slow (not as slow as many think, he is deceptive) but he has a skill set most backrowers would envy, if he had pace he would be OTT as he has EVERYTHING else.
It's not a backward step as it is cover whilst our stand out 8 recovers or our next best coming back from injury gets fitter and recovers form. The alternatives are all untried and likely to let England down in a year when they need to build confidence for the RWC which is this year. We cannot afford a poor 6N.

Except Waldrom, and Haskell if you think of him as a No 8 these days (I don't). I'd rather Easter than Waldrom, but according to the Times earlier (paper copy only - sorry) neither Cips nor Easter are supposed to be included in the squad.
