I know it's not premier league related, but I was just reading that both of Scunthorpes goalkeepers suffered broken arms in today's game.

Chelsea's bench though: Cech, Cahill, Christensen, Ake, Loftus-Cheek, Brown, Drogba. Four teenagers going into the biggest game of the season so far... Gulp.

I suspect that will be a full on defensive display by Chelsea today. Although Citeh do well at SB for some reason. I remember Bellamy taking you apart & calling Terry a Kumquat

Jose will say everything is against Chelsea, missing key men & had to play mid-week. Jose will limit the space & counter for a tight, scrappy 1-0 win. If they draw 0-0, he's happy too. Hope for a good contest, doubt we will see it though. Not really the contest we wanted to see with Toure, Costa & Cesc missing.

Much preferred to of seen this clash in March or April, not now, not with the absentees. Can only see a tight clash, why would Jose risk being opened up.

Easy victory today for change, I will say I do like Blind as a player, is good defensively, breaks up a lot of plays and is very good on the ball, very rarely misplaces a pass.

Frustrating. Score a great goal just before half time then go and concede an easily preventable goal like that. Courtois distracted by Milner's run, but he should do better there. I worry that playing midweek and not having much on the bench will play a part come the last 20 minutes.
I would like to see a replay of the throw in Clattenberg gave City before their goal, ball didn't look out to me. Cliche alert of the next goal being crucial.

Don't blame him though, given the circumstances & league position. That side hasn't been rotated at all this season, they play 120 mins midweek & both Costa/Cesc missing, who are the significant parts of making Chelsea more attractive to watch & more penetrative. Remy & Azpilicueta were blowing from about the 50th min & the options on the bench were poor. As I said prior to the game, it was definitely going to be a bus parking at some point. Great point for Chelsea & an O.K point for City at the end of the day.

Got to the point where I actively avoid watching Chelsea in the bigger games. They know how to get a result for sure, but they don't exactly play great football doing it. Good draw for them though, puts the league firmly in their grasp.

Spot on. City will regret not taking all three points tonight.

Excuses from Chelsea fans...You always stink.
Counter attacking crap even at home.
All about not conceding...
We have a crap defence and no Yaya and you had no ambition..
Great manager but his football sucks...Hate Utd but at least Fergie played good football..

Chelsea always stink. Of course. The team that have scored more goals than anyone else in the league this year. By and large they've been fantastic to watch this year. They knew what they had to do and did it well, considering most of the team played 120 minutes in the week and they were missing Costa and Cesc. The game with Liverpool on Tuesday was about as good a game as a 1-0 game be too...

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Would having Cesc and Costa out be the equivalent of Silva and Aguero in the City side? So his best player of this season without those two has been Matic, a defensive player, and then the spark of Hazard. Win a title you do the job without your best and get a big point in a game like this. City didnt have to win either though, they just had to not lose. Means they're still in it, but it might all look back to that Arsenal game as where City just proved they aren't up to it this year

Chelsea basically a goal keeping error away from being 8 points clear.
Job done really given the circumstances.

Can't hold the error against courtois to much though, he's probably won them more than a few points this season!

Didn't realise the linesman seeing things was in the same phase of play as city's equaliser. Now chelsea had the ball back but they'd have had a freekick in city's half instead if the right call was made.

Erikison is such a good player.. And Kane is also growing game in game out. Big and quick. Where has that quickness come from..
I can't call the top 4 any more.
The scouse and the spuds are starting to become serious contenders again.

11 away loses though. That is shocking.

Believe it or not, when I first saw eriksen (several years ago while he was at Ajax) I thought he could be liverpools replacement for Gerrard. Loved his game in particular how he seemed to see what his pass was going to be before he had received the ball himself. Would still love us to get him but I strongly doubt it, spurs will no doubt move him on to Spain for 40-50 million.

Last again on MOTD.
Great.
Strange team by pardew. Finding his feet. He should have started zaha. And gayle has to stop being played wide. We didn't do enough. But everton went full on TP ....tough to break down. Only a player like Bolaise or zaha could do what's needed when a team just sits back for 90 mins after scoring an early goal

Jedi should help the back 4 out. A possible reason why we are leaking goals- But I also think we lose a lot more possession with him playing. There is a lot of pluses to his game but maybe as many negatives at the premier league level.
Maybe Mutch can form a good partnership with him and we can get best of both worlds.

Great to have Delph back.
Rather Richardson than Cissokho.

Been something of a coming out season for Giroud. Scoring at better than a goal every two matches, and having scored against City and United. Answering some questions asked about him big time.
