We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
I know it's not premier league related, but I was just reading that both of Scunthorpes goalkeepers suffered broken arms in today's game.

It is a purple patch, much like Andros Townsend had for a couple of months in 2013.
Anyway, Tottenham marvellous, and they comprehensively outplayed Arsenal.

John's obviously right that you can't properly judge Kane over two-thirds of a season but he does look as if he could be the complete package. A natural goal scorer who reads the game very well and gives everything for the team.

I would worry that his lack of pace would stop him doing too much at international level. I'd still have Rooney, Sturridge and Welbeck over him.

Good and clever post match interview given by Pochettino (far better than the dreadful BT Sport deserves!). He referred once to Kane's ''quality'' but twice to his ''potential''.

Why are you playing on the counter at home? especially when you defend a high line You're just asking to be dicked on.

Once Barcelona knocks City out the Champs Lge, Manuel should just pack his bags. I'd go with Klopp, regardless of this year's performance in Germany & with it, bring Reus' exciting, youthfulness to the City squad.

Well, that was a shocking game. So, what have we learned today?
Chelsea are Champions
Manuel Pellegrini will be sacked in the summer
Leicester are gone
Harry Redknapp deserted the sinking ship that is QPR
Kane has unbelievable talent, so when will Real Madrid decide Harry Kane is worth a look at to replace Benzema? You know it's not even far-fetched that one.
......and something we didn't really learn today, we knew already, Lukaku has the worst touch I've ever seen

Charlie Austin has broken a bone in his foot apparently. Not sure QPR is a sinking ship, the club looks more like the Titanic, if he has.

Great strike from Ivanovic, but so frustrating to concede a goal like that.
Should not have got to him.
More poor defending.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
We weren't very good in the Championship under Harry and only finished in the top six because of Charlie Austin. The player did step up in the playoffs but Redknapp had to go. It was his team, he had two years to get his players in, wasted money on Rio Ferdinand and Sandro this year, can't coach, definitely couldn't motivate... Redknapp's great idea this year was to 'look cool' and play three at the back like Van Gaal and a few coaches at the World Cup.NickisBHAFC wrote:Harry should of quit before the season started. Laughable with the team he had last season fluked there way through the play offs.
Sherwood for me.
There was talk of Redknapp going in the summer and Sherwood coming in then so Sherwood coming in now is no surprise. He's been favourite for the job since leaving Spurs. He did ok with Tottenham and deserves a chance. We are not cut too far adrift and have more than capable players with the right motivation.
I think the board would have liked to get Steven McClaren back but he isn't going to leave Derby to come to QPR.

Since Sergio Aguero got injured(Everton 06/12/2014), he's not scored in 382mins across 6 games. El Kun needs to rediscover his best form quickly.

The worry is Hampo that it will drive fans away from the grounds as a lot would rather stay in and watch it (especially with prices the way they are,)
I think clubs should have a subscription channel for it where they charge like half the price of a season ticket or something.
I agree that if you show Premier League games on tv at 3pm on a Saturday lower league and non-league attendances will suffer. There is a solution though. The Premier League could move its game to a Sunday. You could still have live games on Friday, Saturdays 1pm and 5pm and Sunday 2pm and 4pm. The rest kick off at 3pm Sunday and all are available to watch online through the Premier League with gamepass. Perhaps add a 'blackout' rule where games must be sold out by 90% or else can't be shown. That should be no problem in the Premier League.Ent wrote:It's for lower league/local sides.
Hard to get crowds in when there's 4 or 5 games on split screen tv!

Screws around the fans a bit if you've got kick offs all over the shop. Might have to stay overnight if it's an evening kick off, leave the night before for a 1pm.
I would hate it. Why buy a season ticket if you can just gamble you'll get tickets to the big games? Also think in the long run it could hit the premier league game attendance too.

If we didn't go for bale when he first won poty we won't be going for Kane.
Plus I'm convinced he's a flash in the pan.
We've also plenty of strikers.
