I know it's not premier league related, but I was just reading that both of Scunthorpes goalkeepers suffered broken arms in today's game.

In a curse of predictive text on twitter, he posted that he wanted Diego Someone from Athletico Madrid. Funny, because the manager doesn't exist & neither does the club.

Its not a big injury, he got a knock on a knock basically. Allardyce seemed to rush him back to have him as an option for the Cup game.

What I said before this edit was nonsense. Having surgery, out for the rest of the season again. It really doesnt stop, which is a bloody shame cos he had been good before injury again.

Good news for the Brom this weekend in the Cup, it was inevitable he'd be injured sooner, rather than later. Unfortunately, because he'd been playing rather well, he looks like he will be plagued for the rest of his career.

Villa in talks with Klinsmann supposedly.
Would take him, but not sure he would take the job.

Don't see him jumping to a sinking ship. He's seems quite a detailed & methodical coach, who knows what he wants & how it should be done, therefore, I would imagine he'd want a job starting in the summer, so he can work with the squad & get them playing his way. I think it's just the US link with the owner fuelling this story.
On another note, the Rooney situation is interesting, reading all these stats about him being in the worst goalscoring run since 2006, not having a shot on target in 2015 etc. How long before he snaps at being played out of position, he's 29, not 32 & his legs have not gone. You can see the story developing for the summer, if United somehow mess the top 4 up. Rooney transfer request x3 & the cycle comes around again. IF it goes the other way, United reach a top 4, who would United fans WANT in the summer to play that midfield role, that Rooney is playing, that would allow Wayne back up the pitch.

I think we should be playing Herrera in midfield alongside Di Maria with Blind or Carrick sitting deep, then Mata in the hole with Rooney and Wilson up top.
Blind
Herrera-Di Maria
Mata
Rooney-Wilson
A lot more pace in the side, more creativity and most importantly a frontline full of running, Mata and Herrera feeding the pace of Wilson will be more destructive than Falcao doing anything.

Both RVP and Falcao would look better strikers with someone pulling in behind and making space for them.

Falcaos movement and link up play is excellent.
Rvps form is fine also.
The midfield is an issue, as are the wing backs/wingers. They create next to nothing.
Mata just isn't a number 10, he doesn't make penetrating passes. Rooney isn't intricate enough to be a play maker. Di Maria is a winger or an explosive penetrative midfielder, not a play maker.
I wish we would ditch this diamond (it's cack) and go 433 or 4231.
Back four and goal keeper as you like.
Herrera blind
Valenica di Maria Rooney
Falcao/rvp
Or
Herrera blind di Maria
Mata falcao/rvp Rooney
Wilson isn't that quick and not ready to be a regular yet.

You can't have seen our recent games Ent if you think Falcao's link up play and movement is excellent, his first touch has been shocking recently whilst his finishing is just as bad.

I still thought Falcao a better player than RVP on Sunday. Personally think you should be playing
Blind
Herrera Di Maria
Mata
Rooney Falcao
Although I'd have (when Carrick is back)
Carrick Herrera Blind
Mata Di Maria
Rooney
Genuinely think United are a better team with Mata in the side

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Would be very surprised if Klinsmann joins Aston Villa, he's got a lot out of a limited US squad and his stock is quite high in the managerial world, should definitely be aiming higher than Villa. Certainly don't think he'd want to join now, and have to deal with the hassle and pressure of saving them from relegation.

Can't agree on mata, it's like having 10 men on the pitch for most of the game.

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
Well United just need a stronger CB now. Rojo is ok, Jones, Salling and Evans aren't great but are good back-up and then LVG needs t bring in a dominant, commanding CB to partner alongside Rojo and they'll be fine. Just so long as Rafael and Shaw play at full back.
-----------------------De Gea------------------
---Rafael-----Hummels-----Rojo----Shaw---
----------Carrick-----Herrera---Blind---------
----------------Mata---------Di Maria---------
----------------------Rooney-------------------
That would be a very strong side, a little defensive with both Blind and Carrick but then that allows Rafael and Shaw to both come forward as the winger type players to provide the width with Herrera's energy as the bot to box midfielder as well as his creativity from deep positions. Mata is a very creative player, although could be improved upon with potentially an even stronger AM. Di Maria is his usual winger type self running at the defence with Rooney spearheading the front line. Then LVG has players like Jones, Smalling, Evans, RVP, Falcao etc as strong back up. All the other deadwood like Nani, Young etc can be sold (even Evans and Smalling) and then United just need some equally strong players in midfield as what they already have to improve their squad depth in a CM/DM area along with another very strong AM that is > Mata or at least = Mata. It will take time, however, the results could one day be superb.

He won't do that bad. The passion of a recently retired professional is exactly what Villa need to install some confidence into them going ahead to their league games and even cup games as well.

Apparently nonsense. But the club are said to be looking into alternatives (which I always think is smart but some think it disrespectful). Probably where the rumours came from.
There's a lot of bad blood in there, but he'll keep his job if we don't finish the season badly. If we fade to bottom 10 then he'll be gone

Had a £5 free bet, so put it on Allardyce to be the next manager to leave at 25/1.
Those odds have now slumped to 5/1.

Big Sam is an average manager anyway, with WHU going into a new bright future with the Olympic Stadium, I'd expect them to get a continental manager with a bigger reputation, who can bring that required style & attract the bigger names. They must know Song is not going to stay, Reid is leaving, so obviously Big Sam wasn't able to persuade them to stay. He'll be gone by summer, QPR seems a good fit.
