Look to control the set piece. Experienced scrummagers and ood jumping options.

Compete at the breakdown. First man tries to turnover and legally slow down. Nothing easy.

Chiefs 28-32 Glos
Slight edge up front for Glos and they will win the backrow battle. Half backs to Glos with Chiefs bringing a good bench to the game but it appears Glos are targetting this cup with a strong side out on show and a good bench.

Quins 25-24 Bath
Both teams seem to be targetting this game and can see Quins getting a small edge in the backrow battle but pretty even in set piece overall. Prefer the Quins halfback pairing but Bath take the centres, close in the back 3 with very strong set ups here. Looking at the bench I can see this game being pretty even and a snatch and grab for Quins.

Welsh 25-22 Sarries
Back row will bring good ball for Welsh and think that’s enough to see them over the line especially with a bit more experience coming off the bench to pull away slightly.

Tigers 25-26 Saints
Both teams out to win this game and looking pretty strong. Think that Evans has slightly more control than Tigers and a little more danger in the back 3 but not much in it.

Falcons 28-29 Sale
Great game on show here today, think Sale will have a slight advantage in the backrow and out wide to edge this. Great half-back pairings from both looking to the future.

Wasps 48-12 Blues
Very much a weak Blues side on show today, Wasp’ backline will have way too much for them.

Exeter 30-33 Gloucester
Even with some form issues can see the Gloucester scrum dominating. Glaws halfbacks a step up as well but Exeter will get a lot of joy down Talebula's channel who is not a centre.

Harlequins 30-27 Bath
Backrow advantage to Quins on current form and Cooper a step up at 10. Like the look of both midfields but Bath take the back three.

Welsh 26-22 Saracens
Backrow edge to Welsh and Barclay will cause havoc at the breakdown. Foley a step up at 10 but off poorer ball doesn't get to dictate this one.

Tigers 24-23 Saints
Not a lot between the back 5 of the packs but Saints will get at the scrum. Not much between the halfbacks with Burns pciking up some form recently. Hard to call here home advantage swings it.

Scarlets 15-19 Irish
Not seen a lot of Olver but the Irish pack should give him enough to see this game out.

Wasps 35-16 Blues
Too much quality in the pack for Blues to deal with. Easy for Youngs/Slade pulling the strings.

Exeter 19-28 Gloucester
Gloucester taking this more seriously than Exeter. Strong back row and half back combinations especially can pull away from Exeter

Welsh 23-21 Saracens
Welsh are stronger in the back row and have a really good bench which drags them over the line

Tigers 23-26 Saints
Saints have the slight edge in the front five. The back row of Tigers has a bit more about it. Like both half back pairings but gotta go with Saints. Outside backs also to Saints and they take the victory.

Newcastle 25-26 Sale
Stronger front five goes to Sale. Back rows fairly even. Prefer the Newcastle half back combination. Slight edge to Sale in the outside backs but the Newcastle bench is stronger.

Scarlets 15-24 Irish
Irish have too much over the park and grab the win.

Wasps 42-9 Blues
Similar story here.

Exeter 18-26 Gloucester
Gloucester will win this due to difference in no2 and the flankers, can't see Exeter getting enough ball and good away win. But, would say that the Chiefs no10 is one for the future, could be a star at Wasps.

Harlequins 24 - 23 Bath
Hardest game of the round, both gone with strong teams - impact bench from Bath very good, but with some of the signings Steve has made he's now turned Quins into a team that can challenge in all competitions.

Welsh 28-22 Saracens
Back row is where the game is won, just can't see Sarries getting a sniff of the ball and their youngsters could be in for a long day. But great backline to keep them close, but a good win for the home team.

Newcastle 17-18 Sale
Lot of games decided on the backrow today! Just see this an advantage to Sale, which clinches the win - otherwise teams are incredibly even and would have gone for a home draw if Falcons could have matched the backrow that SJE has in place.

Scarlets 18-29 Irish
Good away win for Irish who are too strong across the park.

Wasps 46 - 20 Blues
Looks as though Wasps are going to be strong challengers on all fronts again this season. Easy home win.

I know who he is Matt. Top scorer in Top 14 the last few years. One of the form wingers in the world. 

I've never seen him play centre though and a quick look on Its Rugby shows him having just 3/4 starts at 13 in the last three years at club level. He plays 15 for Fiji. May step in at first receiver from time to time but is definately not a 10 either.

Harlequins 23-23 Bath

Not much in the scrum but a slight engine room advantage to Bath, similar in line out. Two good back rows, Clifford the odd one out but a talent. One a piece in the half backs, prefer the Quins combo just though. Other way round with the Bath midfield a better pairing and similar in the back 3. Good tight game with Bath shading it but not enough for win.

Leicester 28-24 Northampton

Not much in the front rows, form issues for both sides but probably more so for Tigers with PDJ hardly playing. Tigers a bit stronger in the engine room and back row and at 9, 10's very close on recent though. Burgess a major weakness for Saints and will struggle, Tigers a bit more solid and two exciting back 3's on show. Tigers enough in the pack and will ease through.

Newcastle 33-32 Sale

Very small advantage in the front 5 for Falcons but not game changing. Sale the stronger backrow but Falcons halfbacks stronger. Two similar porous midfields that will beat each other all day makes for an exciting game with talented back 3's. Not much in this one but fancy Falcons to sneak it at home.

Scarlets 17-32 Irish

Routine win for Irish with Scarlets far from full strength.

Wasps 45-15 Cardiff

Easy win for Wasps.

A good little scrap between both sides. Sarries, just edge the game until the 60th minute mark, when the Welsh bench will impact the game and just swing it in their favour. 

Harlequins 26 - 23 Bath Rugby

Quins look mighty impressive, especially with Steve's recent signings. Bath are set put nicely however which makes it a fight. I just see Quins have too much ability.

Leicester Tigers 26 - 30 Northampton Saints

Saints will get a bit more possession from the set pieces and disrupt Tigers game. This creates a good platform for a strong Saints away win at Welford Road.

Newcastle Falcons 28 - 26 Sale Sharks

Both teams are set out very nicely with a good mix of youth and experience in each. The separating factor factor in this game is the benches. Farrell and Piatau will have a telling effect on the result. 

Scarlets 17 - 30 London Irish

Scarlets have some good attacking players in their line up, but they won't keep up with the pace and intensity of Irish.

Wasps are just too strong all round for the Blues to cope.

Exeter 24 - 26 Gloucester

Front 5s about even, think Glos take the scrum but Exeter better in lineout. Glos stronger in the back row and at halfback especially, think Glos taking this seriously and will take a good win

Quins 25-23 Bath

Quins stronger in front 5, back rows about even with SOB coming back to form. Halfbacks to Quins, Bath back line looks good but think Quins have enough off the bench to take the win at home

Welsh 25-23 Sarries

Think Welsh have a advantage over Sarries throughout the pack. Good mix of power and work rate will give the back line good ball. Sarries stronger at halfback with Foley, but think the impact of the Welsh bench will let them close this out

Leicester 27 - 27 Saints

Big packs out for both sides, good quality ball for both sides. Saints have the edge at halfback and the back 3 to take a lead, but the impact off Leicester's bench will see them steal a draw late on.

Scarlets 16-30 Irish

Irish pack is too big and nasty for a lightweight Scarlets side, and Bennett will add the class to make this an easy Irish win.

Wasps 36-15 Blues

Strong side put out by Wasps, pack is far too strong for Cardiff and that back line can pretty much score at will
