Random factor, like a tractor...
First topic message reminder :
Hello. Following its roaring success on the old 606 (winner of six Luckies*) I thought I'd provide a space on 606v2 for you to post any irrelevant little things you fancy sharing.
I'll start: I've always had trouble with the line 'Love grows where my Rosemary goes.' If they'd chosen another name like Anne or Susan there'd be no problem, but rosemary's a herb so it could be 'Love goes where my rosemary grows.'
* - an award I made up just now.

Yeah, we sang shang-a-lang
And we ran with the gang
Doin' doo-op-dooby-doo-i
With the juke box playin'
And everybody sayin'
That music like ours couldn't die...

Do you know that the main office for the lift manufacturer Otis is in Reading?
How do staff answer the phone?

Jimmy Carr's shortest joke:
"Venison's dear, isn't it?"
Hmm.
Doesn't work so well written down.

Re: Random factor, like a tractor...
I will attempt a translation for you GG:
Do you eat beef?
yes (Te Welsh response pronounced BSC)
Lamb?
a play on another way to say yes in Welsh is Oes, instead put Oen = lamb
Pork?
correct answer in Welsh is ambell waith, but Glas went for Hambell waith instead.
It's not very funny in English.

Re: Random factor, like a tractor...
Australia. 8 divided by 13 is 0.6. 13 over 10 is 1.3. 0.6 is less than 1.3 therefore the lesser return and hence favouritism.

Re: Random factor, like a tractor...
Cheers Glas, so the odds here are on a Boks win as 0.6 is less of a return than 1.3 for Aussie to win, thus Oz is favorite.
No no no, I don;t get that. Favorites are when you win less for your stake than the long odds, so this is saying for every on eunit you'd get:
Boks win: 0.6
Oz win: 1.3
Which now tells me Boks are the favorites as you win less.
If so surely that
Did I get that right??

Re: Random factor, like a tractor...
No you didn't I did. The bookies reckon the Saffers are twice as likely to win as the Aussies and thirty times more likely to win than it being a draw. See?

Re: Random factor, like a tractor...
£1 = £1.30 plus £1 the return of your stake = £2.30 if they win but £0 if they lose, depending on whether you pay tax on your stake or out of your winnings. Suspect it will make more sense to go for a points range i.e. Aus by 10-15 and get better odds.
