Oh yeah and can I just say, there might have been no tries in 6 games, 3-0 yesterday was nice.
Also, I am so happy for Montpellier.
I've been banging on about them ever since I camped up there for the World Cup. I don't know if the Final is one step too far, but in their last 3 games, they have beaten Toulon, Castres away (first team to do that all year) and beaten Racing Metro.

Morning all. Just a quick stop before heading out for a run. Tough game this morning, and the Crusaders couldn't make their possession advantage count as it was countered by the penalty count.
And Cari, I saw that cucumber article. Vindication! (well, sort of )

Morning all
Likewise Munsty, I am chuffed for Montpellier. Not the biggest club but have gone about their business well. I really hope they beat Toulouse in the final and show other teams that you can make it by bringing young players through and having a sound plan in place for developing the club and team.
Tough result this morning Kiwi, but I think the Crusaders will still grab a wildcard place and make the play offs, where they will be very difficult to beat.
Still favourites to win the whole thing for me.

Anyone else looking foward to England hopefully losing to the Baa Baa's today, either way though it should be an exctiting game.

Er no,
Why would I hope that England lose?
I hope it's a good game, and in all honesty I will not be massively upset if England lose, but I would like to see one or to of the players in the England side really put their hand up for the shirt.

Does the username Mr. scotland not give it away enough, and with the amount of welsh fans and everyone loves the Barbarians, it's more interesting when they win!

Morning all. Feeling very chirpy this morning
What a legend John Hayes is. Penalty try after 79 mins at 37 years of age against a fresh front row.
What a fitting way to finish his Munster career (thats if its finished!).
Hard luck Leinster fans. You looked tired.

I'm gonna echo the sentiments made about Montpellier. I took an interest in them when I heard Munsty raving about them. Galthie is surely a future national side coach.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Morning folks. For anyone interested in the 7s, Wales beat England 19 - 12 in the last pool game to set up a q/f with surprise qualifiers, France. That result consigns England to a q/f against NZ, who were crowned champions in London last weekend. Final day fixtures are below.
http://www.irbsevens.com/destination/edition=10/fixturesresults.html
I can see Wales reaching the final in this tournament. Apart from an indifferent showing against Spain, they have a nicely balanced team that support each other well in attack. They will need to be more aware in defence today though, as S.A. or Samoa will be their s/f opponents.

I'm actually hoping England beat the Barbarians. I think that they have an exciting team out that I'd like to see prevail.

Well, the few English who frequent this place might as well find somewhere else. I know what most people think about England rugby, but you don' t have to be so blatant.
And by the way, I expect an England team with 5 debutants and a string of 3/4 choice players to have no chance against that Baa Baa's team.

Stag, I don't really care too much about the result , but I hope the BaaBaas play a more open game than they have been playing recently.
I watched the Racing Metro v Montpellier game yesterday, and while I was rooting for thhem (what a tense last 5 minutes), I can't see them beating Toulouse. Would be nice though; Trinh-Duc was excellent yesterday.

Hound, you've seen some of the 7s tournament - are Wales in with a chance of winning the thing?
As to the Baa-baas game, I'd like the Baa-baas to win, not because they're playing England but because they have a hell of a XV on the field. That back row is a connoisseur's back row and if Michalak's on song, he has a hell of a back line outside him.

Hound
Agree on Trinh-Duc. He went through a real dip in form just after Christmas, but started to find it again the last few rounds of the T14 and was excellent against both Castres and RM92.
If him and Parra can fire for France they will still be a force at the World Cup despite having Mad Marc at the helm!!!

I probably won't see the England game as it's on Sky isn't it? To be honest I haven't even thought about both Baabaas matches so I'm not bothered about the results in either.
Mr S - please be reminded that there is a mutual respect in this pub. I appreciate you might not have read the threads on the old 606. If you dislike a team that's fair enough, but bear in mind there are supporters of those teams who may be reading your comments.

Ah folks, give Mr Scotland a break, he's just expressing his opinion. Us England fans are well used to fans of the other 6 Nations teams wanting us to lose, it's all part of the rich tapestry of things.
I just hope it's a good game, some selections from England are fascinating for me and I am really looking forward to seeing how a few of the players go.

I'm not saying Mr S can't dislike a team, just be a bit considerate when he says so.

I disagree. if he has an opinion he is entitled to voice it, this is a debating forum and everyone's opinion is valid, whether or not I agree with it.
He didn't say anything derogatory or rude, so not sure why an issue is being made here.

True Pete. By all means express opinions. But be prepared to discuss them thats all especially if they are strong views Disagreement does not mean disrespect - for me thats the pub ethos.

Ah no its a running joke between myself and him. Rev and myself have got one about how much I dislike Dragons Scotland can have the England team. There's nothing personal in these. They are banter.

Bit of a provactive statement to make in here though I thought. Can you imagine the uproar if you, an English fan made such a comment about the Welsh? It's just fortunate that yourself and Hound don't get upset about such things.

See, I'm split - literally - on the English thing. My mum's Lancastrian but her grandpa was a Welshman from Liverpool. My heritage explains my personality disorder
I have no problem with the English national team, as long as they play decent rugby. They're capable of it - and the worrying thing is that they're showing signs of it!

Nah, not really Cari, I've seen way worse comments and had good debate off the back of them.
All he said was that he hopes the BaaBaas win against England. He's entitled to support whoever he chooses.
I am pretty sure that when Wales play the BaaBaas I won't be cheering for the men in red.
This is not even a molehill that a mountain seems to be being made out of.

I'm not bothered either, I can't be bothered with the whole Anglo-Welsh/Whoever rubbish. Got on my nerves on old 606. I wouldn't like to see any of that rubbish in here regardless of the teams involved to be honest.
Sorry for bringing it up. Mr S. you can say what you like.

Morning Thomond. Stag is right. It's all (ok, mostly then) tounge in cheek.
I would always support whoever is playing England, although obviously this becomes difficult if it's NZ or SA, when I tend to be neutral. It's a cultural thing and nothing personal. I've even had a laugh with some Leicester fans after a match.

I want BaaBaas to win today. It's nothing personal, I just want the BaaBaas to win! Please don't run me out of the pub
There is a subtle difference between wanting the BaaBaas to win and wanting England to lose... I'll be pleased to see England win if they play some good 'Barbarians' style rugby themselves.

Bit upset I won't get to watch the England v BaaBaa's match today, if only I'd managed to get my sky set up on Wednesday like I'd wanted to, got to wait until Friday now!
A bit torn on who I want to win, England to make my Dad happy or for me I just love the BaaBaa's so guess I'll be hoping for them to win. Going to have to see if I can get the internet working properly so I can get a live stream or something...

Notch, saying you want a team to win, is one thing. However, saying that you 'hope a team loses' comes across very differently and implies a certain hostility.
I would never do that, mostly because I genuinely don't feel that way, but also because it is a 'negative' thing. I have posted positive comments about many countries and clubs - see earlier about Wales in the 7s - it's just the way I like to go abiut things.
lucky - it will be a damn fine effort if Wales can win the Cup today. But in 7s anything can happen.
Good luck
