I think he has, yeah. Didn't the commentator say he had a sock of hsi old side and his new side? He's been released by Toulon.

Good signing for Stade, still a very good player.
JvN is also an awesome player still. If he had stayed in South Africa he would surely be their first choice number 8 over Pierre Spies.
Great to see young Jamie Gibson getting a run out. Was very good for London Irish the last 2 months of the season.

Ah, now I get it Notch, you were upset that Gibbo said it was because you are passionate that you like Wallace and, because you are passionate, you took the hump that he questioned your logic. Sorry.
Anyway he got quite 'passionate' when I did the old Portnoys hot and cold trick on him.
Has the Babaas game finished? I get really miffed at Sky at times likes these.

Mason on on the wing initially but moves to centre, arguably the bigest backline in the world?

Nope. 70 minutes on the clock.
And England take the lead! Tom Johnson. Asbo will be delighted. 32-31 to England.
I'm going to wait and see if I get more shifts at the track in the next month or so. If not I'll look for something in the week.
This weekend I've been having a wee bit of a rest, I won't get another chance after this summer.

Magical try for the Barbarians! Visser!!
32-36 to the BaaBaas with a minute to go. Tekoris break was magical, Van Niekirks offload- just brilliant rugby.

What a fantastic try to win a game of rugby.
offload from JvN was brilliant.
Great game, and the better side won. Really enjoyed that.

38-32 final score to the Baa-Baas, but I think England 3rd/4ths can take a load of pride from that performance. Good to see Myler playing with a lot more freedom/flair than he often does, hope the injuries to Marler and Monye aren't serious after all

Tom Johnson certainly had an outstanding last 20, and possibly could have got man of the match if he had played that way for the first 60.

Ah totally Notch, lots of positives there and even the negatives are a good thing, as it showed that there are some players who's names have been put in the frame by pundits and the media who are clearly not ready yet.
Plusses for me were Paice and Narraway. Could give us a couple more options in the pack. Also Gaskell and Gibson did well when they came off the bench.
Midfield is a worry, but will have reaffirmed for MJ that he is right to stick with Hape and Tindall as a solid pair and try to get pacy players in the back three to balance that out.

Entertaining stuff - good to see Visser making his mark on the 'international' stage.
Question: Marler 'tackle' on van Niekirk. Commentators were discussing whether it was late or not, but should the questions not be whether it was a legal tackle - looked like a shove to me. Is there not supposed to be some attempt to wrap arms around the ball carrier - I did not see any.
Another question: Ruan Pienaar not wearing Ulster socks? Why?
And Rupeni: how many head high tackles do you have to make to get a yellow card???
I think England will struggle against Argentina in the WC (not that I'm biased or anything - heh, heh) And I am a big fan of Myler - not setting the heather on fire but calm, efficient, no major weaknesses in his game

What about Manu in the midfield no doubt in my mind he would have been picked in the churchill cup squad.

Why do you think England will struggle against Argentina Puma? They are a side in decline in my view and nowhere near at the level they were 4 years ago.

Manu may make the World Cup squad, but he is not ready to start in the World Cup yet. Defensively he is naive at times and likely to cost tries against the top teams.
His time will come I suspect, but this World Cup is 12 months to soon for him.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
You really should dreamer, some cracking scores and moments of skill from both sides.
Yeah, some players did do well. It's a bit of a shame Simpson-Daniel in many ways has never delivered the complete package. So impressive and lethal on the ball and yet can be exposed. One of those player you wonder what might have been. Maybe a few less injuries and he could have been a real star for you.
Narraway was and is excellent. Monye and Banahan showed why they'll be in your World Cup squad, even if I prefer Banahan as a winger who cuts back inside to the midfield and don't like him too much as a centre. I thought Paul Hodgson and Mike Brown had quietly accomplished games and remain in the running.
Is the clue in the username?
No seriously, Argentina are NOT to be underestimated. A few weeks together and they'll be horrible to play against.

Certainly should be taken as an impact player in the rwc and possibly a first cap in the warm up matches. He should definitely target next years 6N then.

Well played the Baa Baas; that was a great try to win it. I remember Joe Tekori from when Wasps had Castres in their HC pool about 3 seasons back. Beast of a player.
Scotland v Kenya now in the 7s.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Hodgson should go as 3rd scrum half with Youngs and Care but I don't think he will. He offers defensive stability and game management which is better than the other two. what he doesn't offer is the sniping breaks and pace, but I do believe that within a squad you need a balance, and for me he is a better option than Simpson who I think is likely to get the nod.

I suppose it is more a case of hope and optimism, possibly unfounded, Pete. But .. have not really seen anything from England as a whole that has impressed me (and I think this is maybe down to the shambles that is the RFU and the coaching/management sytems in some part) The Pumas have some excellent players, not least domestically who are totally under the radar. Can they step up to the international mark from an amateur set up? Quien sabe (who knows). It's going to be interesting.

I have to agree pete, yes Simpson can be exciting but is nowhere near enough of a rounded player. Not going to well for scotland in the sevens....:S

That's always the big question for the Argentians though isn't it, can they step up from an amateur league. I have to say I think England will win that game comfortably. The toughest Pool match for England is against scotland in my opinion, and is one that we could well come unstuck in.

So cruel for Scotland. One poor decision in attack and a bad missed tackle let Kenya in at the death.
