Stranger things have happened.  MFI aren't having a sale, Padraig Harrington won a PGA Tour event, and Super_Realist finished in the top 10!

There may not have been a lot of picks left but eight of them finished in the top 10.  Despite not picking the winner Davie squeaked past Boyhyde to take a narrow victory.  Kwinigolfer and SirBenson did pick the playoff winner but only had one other pick backing Harrington up and they ultimately couldn't close the gap.  Even though Pedro had four of his picks score points he slipped back into a tie for 5th with Barragan.  LadyPutt and SetupDetermines remain in the top 10 as LP's quantity beat out Setup's quality.  EmmDee57, Super_Realist, and TheCleaver round out the top 10 placings.  Beninho had two picks score points whilst HibbZ, Incontinentia, McLaren, CJB, and RedRage each had one pick score points.  

Daniel Berger and Brian Harman tied for low final round with 64s.  SetupDetermines and TheCleaver earned points.  The worst score from the final round was 76 and two players, Ricky Barnes and Jon Curran, shared that mark, Curran doubled it up by finishing last on +13.

The Florida swing kicks off with the Honda Classic and plenty of WGC qualifiers are in attendance getting one last fine tuning session before they move South towards Miami.  Russell Henley is the defending champion and he's joined by the previous nine champions and two older champions in Dudley Hart and Vijay Singh.

World number 1 Rory McIlroy is back in action and he's joined by three other European top tenners in Sergio Garcia, Justin Rose, and Martin Kaymer.  11 of the European Ryder Cup team are playing, only Stenson is absent.  27 of the top 50 are in action and that means lots of OWGR points on the line.  86 players are providing value to the OWGR points on offer for this event, for more detail see the OWGR threads that GPB, Robopz, et al contribute to.  

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligble for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament. However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

On a tough scoring day in Palm Beach only 19 players broke par. To get into the top 5 you needed a score of 67 or lower and all three players who shot 67 were picks. Patrick Reed was the most popular of the three with five Fantasy Leaguers picking him. Padraig Harrington just edged out Martin Flores in the popularity stakes by a 2-1 margin. Pedro picked both Flores and Reed to take an early lead. Davie, Incontinentia, LadyPutt, and McLaren also picked Reed. Kwinigolfer and SirBenson picked Harrington.

Everyone else, including Super_Realist, is within the top 10 on the leaderboard but they're yet to trouble the scorers. Late(ish) replacement Jim Herman made the most of his opportunity shooting 65 to take the lead from Brendan Steele. Morgan Hoffmann shot 80 to tie Chris Stroud for the worst round of the day. Hoffmann is still in the tournament while Stroud has taken his ball home with him. Mike Weir withdrew midway through his round complaining of elbow trouble, he's also the Spanish Archer to the lucky Super_Realist.

Wow, decimation in Florida and I'm not talking about the orange crop.  More than half of the Fantasy League picks are packing their bags and getting out of town.  Cut bonuses were like rocking horse droppings as just two Fantasy Leaguers earned bonuses.  Congratulations to Barragan and I'm Never Wrong as they have all their Cat B and C picks respectively.  Pedro and SirBenson have the most picks left with six each.  Barragan, BoyHyde, Davie, Hibbz, I'm Never Wrong, and SetupDetermines all have five picks left.  Eight Fantasy Leaguers, including Super_Realist, have four picks left.  Three Fantasy Leaguers have three picks left, RedRage and CJB will be struggling with just two picks left and Kouchi is having a shocker with just one pick left for the weekend.

Two picks shot 64 to tie for low round of the day.  Ian Poulter was picked by BoyHyde, Davie, EmmDee57, and Super_Realist.  Do not adjust your screens, Super is inside the top 10!  Brooks Koepka was picked by Beninho, Kwinigolfer, and SetupDetermines.  Three players shot 79 for the worst score and one of them, Lucas Glover, was a pick.  Kwinigolfer, RedRage, and SirBenson earned points there.  Wes Homan and the appropriately named Jhared Hack were the other two to shoot 79.

71 players are left and round 3 is already underway.  There's several Fantasy Leaguers hoping their remaining picks score well to earn bonus points and keep them in touch.
