Obviously targetted at Dillian Whyte......can anyone spot the irony?

Joshua is the second coming of Ali only with more personality and talent so he is allowed to say this stuff...

Most of the hype around Joshua doesn't come from him but the media really. And he's an Olympic gold medallist. When he's interviewed he normally mentions that he is improving and has a lot to learn. So no, not really.

I agree that most of Joshua's hype comes from the Hearns of this world etc. but given the absurd hype that is selling his fights he should perhaps refrain from tweets like this

Re: Anthony Joshua Tweet
No irony. AJ hasn't proclaimed himself the greatest.
Whyte on the other hand has accomplised the square root of FA but is making out like he's achieved something and should be ahead of AJ in the pecking order(s).
AJ is humble, or at least he puts that out, hence the hashtag.
Whyte is a pr!ck.
AJ should humble him.

... i guess from whyte's perspective he dropped joshua and beat him in the amateurs... and he's trying to big up his profile and earn a few quid by fighting him in the pro's. No harm in ruffling a few feathers. I could see an eddie grudge match looming... except he wouldn't want to risk his golden goose against a guy who might (i repeat might) have a psychological edge and can bang a bit.

Didn't realise he had an amateur win against AJ. Makes the domestic dust-up more interesting!
Given AJ only had about 40 fights, and he only lost 1 across Olympic and Worlds in his final season, he can't have had much experience when fighting Whyte.

Re: Anthony Joshua Tweet
I saw an interview with IFLTV where Kugan mentioned WHyte's name to AJ and he started swearing a bit and losing his head. I think Whyte annoys him, be great if they can build it into a meaningful grudge match. Do it for the British or something at end of year. Who promotes Whyte? Someone told me he was a free agent.

I find AJ's social media persona really irritating. All that 'stay humble' noise and the constant vacuous 'hard work, dedication' carp. If he wasn't a boxer he'd definitely be one of those who goes to the gym, comes home and posts an inspirational quote. Annoying.
Seems alright in interviews though.

Whyte looks in much better nick then than he does now. Plu AJ's technique has improved markedly.

Re: Anthony Joshua Tweet
Tony Thompson has re-branded himself as the Olympic Killer after 4 on the spin against Olympic medalists Price and Solis. He has called out Joshua to add another Olympian to his resume. That would be a good fight.

Can't see them taking a risk fighting Thompson. He's proven he's not just a punch bag.
The story line that Joshua is a humble man of the people is tiring to listen to. He has a thug background and is as dull as dishwater.

Sad state affairs all the same when the next big thing in boxing would view a 90 year old Tony Thompson as too high risk.

Re: Anthony Joshua Tweet
Quite like AJ. Clearly hung around bad crowds, and got caught... but he seems (albeit from thousands of miles away) nice enough. Someone above said if he wasn't boxing he'd probably still be in the gym every day getting home posting inspirational quotes on twitter, think they got it spot on. He might be arrogant (you have to be to want to be heavyweight champ, it's a rather pompous goal to set in life), but I think its more his gym bunny behavior which is being misunderstood.

That was me. Yeah nothing really against the guy, I just think his whole persona is a bit boring. The whole 'stay humble' thing is a bit naff, for me.
Good luck to the guy though and I will say when he actually is doing his work in the ring, he's been exciting to watch.

Re: Anthony Joshua Tweet
I don't mind his humble persona provided he unleashes the beast in the ring. He's fairly measured but definitely throws his punches with spite, which is what you want out of a HW champ.
Nothing wrong with holding back from TT for a couple of fights, but AJ needs those extra fights against decent testing opposition, not punchbags. Why not Whyte? Browne? Hell, even a Charr.

On the BBC theme.. Funny joke I saw on youtube the other day.
Mum challenges her son to a yo'mama competition, just one joke each. The son starts off with "Mama, your mama is so ugly every time she looks at the mirror it ducks". The mama not overly impressed, comes back with "you mama is so nasty, she sucked yo daddy's dick before coming to kiss you goodnight"
Found that mildly amusing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WlN7iO-cfk
