How will itv fowl up the world cup?
Now they seem to have pumped all their money into getting football, adrian childs, indian cricket, Aviva and HC highlights (both a good thing mind if they put them on at a more sociable time) how will they fair with the world cup? They have four channels to choose from and IMO every four years they manage to grossly under value it by showing too few games and having pundits who haven't been near a microphone for many a year. Mind you they'll be onto a winner if they manage to keep jim rosenthal far far away from the whole event. The man truly is the Alan Partridge of itv. Dread to think what will happen with the adverts. Why do the IRB keep giving them the rights? How much do itv pay?

I don't know how they'll fowl it up, maybe they'll base their studio in a chicken coop.

Have to agree Mandalorian, there coverage is so unprofessional it is almost unbrearable, lets just hope the rugby makes up for it....

Given the time difference and the likely KO of the matches perhaps they'll cut to daybreak during halftime.

I'd rather ITV have the RWC than the BBC any day of the week...

Craig Doyle will probably be doing the coverage on ITV won't he? Doesn't he do the Aviva highlights on ITV 4? He isn't so bad, I never minded him when he used to work for the Beeb.

Actually Martin Bayfield might be doing it as well, he is quite good as well.

from a selfish point of view i would prefer sky, they offer the best rugby coverage by far,but so many people can't afford sky,so I'm pleased it's free to air so everyone can enjoy watching wales lift the trophy.

I did try a title of 'how will itv c@ck up the world cup' but it kept comming up as 'how will itv chciken up the world cup'
Bayfield seems to know his stuff and asks good questions...can't think who will be the main presenter though...bet it'll be adrian childs...
Check out the clip of jim rosenthal doing his best partridge-ism and why he may not be presenting the comp.

Why choose that term then? An heavily loaded racial term of abuse for black people... it was moronic.

Very stupid choice on his part, stereotypical and offensive, but not quite racist.

I hope Craig Doyle gets the hosting job. He seems to understand the role of the presenter well when drumming up discussion. Martin Bayfield should have a better job than ITV and the Aviva Premiership YouTube channel. He could be a very good reporter throughout the World Cup.
What's interesting for me is who will be the commentators. I hope they don't go with Miles Harrison again.

For the jeff final (why do they call it the jeff btw) it was nick mullins and wiggy healey commentating...didn't realise they had both been poached by espn. Mind you healey wasn't much of a loss...dead loss maybe. BA-BOOM CHA!
