Re: Scotland World Cup look ahead and squad
Would a move to Glasgow actually rule him out as a Wallabie? Giteau and Mitchell have been brought back in - following the ARU reversing their decision to allow players based outside Oz to represent them. I would imagine the only thing this changes is whether the SRU are willing to fund a move for a player who could never play for Scotland. My guess is they would and a spike in season tickets sales wouldn't do any harm.

The ARU rules are you have to have 60 caps and played 7 years of SR or something like that.

Re: Scotland World Cup look ahead and squad
I don't think being NSQ is a problem for this guy - he'll bring in the crowds and could be a standout player in the Pro 12. It's not as if Glasgow are short of top quality Scottish players either.
I'd just be amazed if he still wants to come to Glasgow given the Wallabies are interested!

I think its safe to assume the move will be called off if he does get a cap - I just hope Glasgow have a plan B.

Re: Scotland World Cup look ahead and squad
Well, it looks as if there's more to it than just the money. It would appear that if he leaves Aus for three years then he may jeapordise his residency eligibility, so after a few years in Glasgow it would seem that he might have to return to Fiji rather than God's Own Country.
Naiyaravoro had been rumoured to have signed a three year deal in Scotland with Pro12 team Glasgow Warriors. All that could change, said Naiyaravoro, if he did indeed make his debut for the Wallabies during their upcoming tour.
"I will have to now that I've been selected for the train on squad, I'm trying to get my residency here as well and this decision isn't just for me but also for my family as well."
I think Toonie has to seriously consider Plan B: George's Uncle Dougie on the wing. (Right Wing of course)

He's so far to the right that he'd spend the entire game in the car park.jimbopip wrote:Well, it looks as if there's more to it than just the money. This does seem like a bizarre situation and I cannot believe that it wasn't one contemplated in detail by Glasgow. How can you announce a new signing knowing that it is within the control of someone else (the Wallaby team selectors) whether that person will actually be coming? Smacks of announcing Vern Cotter prematurely and only then admitting they had no contractual right to ask him to come until a year later.
If he doesn't come, I will be peed and season ticket holders will have a right to be too.

Re: Scotland World Cup look ahead and squad
Well this thread is getting full (partly because Jimbo put the Big T story on the wrong thread) - were you planning on chucking together a WC warm up one GC?
