Well done Trebs - my half-baked tactics were deliberate. Nothing to play for, and no sense in giving people an idea of how I might line up next season with my new players. I'd have forfeited the game with no tactics but wanted the extra £1m.

Those that didn't do proper tactics should not be allowed their bonus.

There was only one game where there was actually any thought on results. I think we need to introduce more things to make it interesting. Maybe relegation for bottom 2 where squad gets completely lawyered or something? Then top 4 get a bonus cup? It ruins the league for me how little people care

Azzy if you don't want to show your so called best team you don't have to nobody is forcing you but you don't make a mockery of the league and disrepect it.

Personally I think the league needs a reboot now rather than go into a season 4. Think for a number the boredom is creeping in.

To be fair, in the real life Premier League, if it was last game of the season and a side had nothing to play for, they may play a weakened side to see how it goes.

Nah. We're still doing fine, everyone will have money to spend so can give Season 4 a go.

Yes it is, you can also put up options on what type of league we'd like.

This is my idea based upon a league I'm in...

Landmine draft

Every person has £100m to spend on TM.
Every team has to be 18 players.

At the start of the game everyone PMs 5 players (to whoever is handling that) that they wish to landmine, ranking in order of preference. Say this is you...

1. Ben Dover
2. Dick Burns
3. Brock Lee
4. Randy Lover
5. Bud Light

& someone else has Dick at number 1, then they get him as their landmined player & you don't. If more than 1 drafter picks the same player, that player will be randomly assigned between those players by a neutral party. You have a chance to get all 5 as your landmine, but equally you could get none. You won't know until the game is over.

If you pick a landmined player, the person who landmined them receives that player & you get no one in that round. The rounds continue until everyone has finished their squad. Because it's just current players, if you miss too many rounds then you could end up picking some absolute garbage players at the end of the draft so there's a big incentive to pick players who haven't been landmined. We should see some good new players in this one, especially with longevity not an issue. As long as they've played a senior game they're eligible.


The draft criteria we'll be judging on is current ability, this season's performance rather than over a career. There will be a tournament afterwards. You will be drafting an 18 man squad & they ALL must be used in the tournament group stage.

Anyone who doesn't want to play, I need one or two to help me run this as I intend to play & I obviously can't see who the landmined players are so your help would be appreciated. I need someone to receive the initial PMs & sort who gets which player as their landmine, then keep a list of it they can refer to. After that all they have to do is let me know at the end of each round who has picked a landmined player etc & I'll let everyone know. It'd be quite fun to know who is landmined & read along.

If anyone has any suggestions on tweaks & stuff that could make it better then I'd welcome your input. I'm looking for 10 players. If 10 then the groups will be 5 in each group with top 2 progressing.

You can leave a ranked shortlist with someone who isn't playing the draft & they'll pick for you if you're not around. Or leave your next pick with someone who will pick after you. Please endeavour to do at least one of these if you think it likely you'll miss your go but it might be a good idea to PM your list as an insurance policy even if you think you'll be round.

The Draft Order will reverse for the 2nd round & that will repeat until everyone has filled their 18 man squad. The usual snake draft format.

Landmines revealed after every 10 picks

At the end we'll be doing a vote of the top teams & a fast paced tournament.

I'd like to get away from draft leagues and do something fresh. Europa league, premier league teams? Something like that.

Is there an option for not continuing at all? We are struggling so badly for managers, re-starting hardly seems worth it.

Realistically we have 8 (9 if Afro wants in) That's about normal size really usually between 8-12

But in past leagues we've always had a cast of 4/5/6 to step in if one wants to take time away. We're right at the bare bones nowadays, no Bull, CF, FL, soddy, Afro, Twist, Fan, plenty of others too. We've always had a large pool of managers and I think part of the problem is that we're running with the same people time after time.
