Supreme display from Murray. Returning was ludicrous - Berdy only winning 59% behind his first serve.

Well played Murray, even though Berdych could have played a better match. Can Murray beat Djokovic?

Well played Andy, another MS final - can't knock it. He'll be hoping for Big John to do him a favour though!
Berdych has an impressive 17 SFs at this level, but only three finals...it's easy to see why.

Easily Murray 'easiest' Berdych win. I'm beggining to wonder if Vallverdu actually still works for Andy
Couldn't he persuade Nole to sack Boris and take him on?

Good to see Andy hitting the slice very well. He's gonna need the practice against Nole. No more one pace playing Noles game, Andy needs to vary his game up or he'll be dispatched

I agree only way anyone is going to beat Novak at the moment is not to be drawn into his game..

Re: Miami Masters 1000 Thread.
This is very true. If Andy's got any kind of a brain on him at all, he'll not get sucked into the same gameplan that he has done for the last few matches against Novak. Especially given they played inside the last fortnight.

I think he wants to be the top end of the 'big 4' rather than the bottom end.banbrotam wrote:Easily Murray 'easiest' Berdych win. I'm beggining to wonder if Vallverdu actually still works for Andy

If Isner wins Andy will beat him in the final, 5-0 head2head thus far.

Re: Miami Masters 1000 Thread.
Murray should try to blast through Djokovic with blistering groundstrokes, and come to the net. That's always the way djokovic loses. You can't beat djokovic in a trench warfare style match. Novak loves turning matches into grind fests.

Murray beat Novak doing the exact opposite in both his matches at Wimby. Variety is the key, i.e. mix of paces etc. Yes, Murray will look stupid sometimes as Novak connects to a short one, but is more vulnerable having his rhythm disturbes
Nole still has to be Isner, remember

Re: Miami Masters 1000 Thread.
My thoughts exactly.. if blasting the ball at Novak is the key.. then Andy wont even get a crack at him.. quite the opposite.. do what Dolgopolov did, mix the pace.. Novak cant stand not having anything to hit at. That is why Dolgopolov's game is just what Novak hates.

And anyway, Andy, can't blast crap, he has no blasting skills, maybe a odd BH sometime.
Soderling and Delpo can blast only.

This week Isner looks like he serves 2 feet away from the net! Novak will be praying the serves are closer to Murrays or Ferrers speed

To be fair he's not so bad just a shame he can only perform 2 weeks per year to this standard. Jisner = Tall American gladiatorsummerblues wrote:I just turned the TV on and I see no breaks and a lengthy rally with Isner winning it.

It's alot to ask for him to beat 3 top 10's in a row Haddie especially with his movement limitation. He's won more games in 1 set than Murray got off Novak in 2Haddie-nuff wrote:Really??? Im not sure Im watching the same match you are JM.. Novak should be eating him for breakfast.

Re: Miami Masters 1000 Thread.
Maybe.. but Im not a fan of big servers.. I didnt even like Sampras and he did have the game to go with it. Of all of them I prefer to watch Karlovic .. but Novak is tired I think. After Dolgo, and Ferrer I think he is not playing as well as he could.
But I think Ill turn over and watch something else I think this is all over barring the shouting

Re: Miami Masters 1000 Thread.
The eye sore of the big servers will never be cured I'm afraid. Best we can do is rely on the top 4 to teach them how tennis is meant to be played... Djokovic was poor against Klizan and Dolg for a whileHaddie-nuff wrote:Maybe.. but Im not a fan of big servers.. I didnt even like Sampras and he did have the game to go with it. Yes I know but its a moot point about his tussle with Dolgo.. I think Dolgo had him rattled he had the game that Novak didnt like.. and, but.............ah well no use in me labouring the point

The issue with dolg is his health... not many more talented players than him in the game.
