Who cares, at 22 you shouldn't expect to play regularly especially in the days of massive squads, and that is perhaps the problem with the British mentality, they are classed as pro's so think they deserve to play regularly, they expect to be a regular without having to serve the apprenticeship, instead of making it impossible not to pick them by screwing the nut, learning as much as you can, training in the best situation possible, with the best coaches and players around you. Seems a rather short term view that Ince had but not remotely surprising, you could name on the fingers of one hand the people with the balls to try it at present.
Picking Hull over Inter is like picking Vanessa Feltz over Rachel Riley. I'm sure when he retires he'll regret at least not trying.

I've read the link above but it doesn't actually say if Inter really wanted him. I suspect he was turned down and decided to spin it this way

Mac
Very interesting. On the national analysis of results so far, it's a Labour Government. Cameron to leave 5 years ahead of his prediction! Shame.

Can't help but notice Carrick was Englands best player against Italy.

Not exactly difficult would you not say (and even then I wouldn't say he particularly shone)? Thought they looked pretty good second half, although Italy seemed to be happy to let them have the ball.

Smalling and Jones just seem to get worse every week. Jones ball control can't be any better than that of a league 1 player. And to think man utd tried to use him as a central midfielder!!
Carrick was the closest thing to Pirlo on the pitch. What do those in charge of England know that Sir Alex missed? As clearly in Sir Alex's eyes carrick is an outstanding player.

Super
It is just really frustrating for Carrick to be overlooked for praise when he is such a technically gifted and clever player. It is often said that England need players like those that do so well for teams like spain or germany. Yet they have a player who is exactly that type of player and have largely ignored him.

"Carrick was the closest thing to Pirlo on the pitch" all they had in common was being on the same pitch. Oh and wearing shorts...

Carrick is decent, he does not compare to the worlds best midfielders over the last 10 years. He is not a patch on Xavi, Iniesta, Xabi Alonso, Toni Kroos, Modric, pirlo, gattuso, de rossi. Can you stop the hyperbole please.
Sir Purple Face Fergie claimed that Phil Jones would be one of Uniteds best players ever, he also spent 7m i think on Bebe. Lets not base things on what Fergie thought.

They weren't on the same pitch, Pirlo is injured
Oh, and Jagielka was easily England's best player, not Carrick
Carrick did okay though, better than Jones, Delph and Henderson who all started ahead of him

Pirlo wound't need to be present for Carrick to emulate him.

I wonder what the Fenway people will make of this season?
No Anfield Of Dreams for them, back to the drawing board, but without Suarez and Gerrard, Sterling wanting out of his contract (which just doesn't happen at Fenway) and no Premier standard centre-back combination. They looked lost today.

Man Utd don't have a Premiership standard CB combination, and they might make the top 4.

Yes, but they're loaded everywhere else, in talent anyway. You can't say that about Liverpool.
And, of course, Liverpool don't have a Michael Carrick . . . . . . .

Certainly Henderson is a mystery to me. Never has anyone been able to explain to me why he is thought of as a top 4, or even half decent EPL player.

I like Henderson, but he's a complementary player, bit like Ramsey really, hopefully Can will be in Rodgers' engine room next year and that'll help Henderson a lot.

I hate it when pundits and the media have a go at referees. If there weren't 22 cheats on the pitch a refs life would be a lot easier.

Maybe your IT department are grammar nazis and didn't like his opening, which seems to suggest a wish for the source of Kwini's water but is then abruptly halted by a question mark where you'd expect to see a verb, probably an adverb and definitely a full stop?

Interesting stat of the day? More people were killed by police in USA during March 2015, than in the last 100 years in the UK. By a factor of more than 2:1. Is it just me or is that just a tiny bit crazy?

Did any of you see that ridiculous situation with the women's soccer match between England and Norway?
Some rules weren't followed properly when they played recently so they had to go back and re-play the last few seconds of the match, namely a penalty. So the two teams and their entire entourages had to prepare for a few seconds of a game, the same as they would for a full length match. Very bizarre!

Re: Another Drive4show 'Anything goes' thread
A rhetorical question about Newcastle United: what's so bad up there that Alan Pardew, who'd done OK there, voluntarily leaves (presumably w/o a payoff from being sacked) to go to Crystal Palace (who're in deep scheiss) and promptly makes Palace look like superstars? Wonder how they feel up there on the Tyne?
