Suarez: a world beater in the EPL, just average in the Primera.

Yes Messi is something but I still find him overrated (speaking of). IMO Ronaldo is far more complete.

He is spoken about as he comes from another planet. Yes he's good and great and all that, but he's the kind of player who's (only) good when he's playing with great players. We saw his limitations in Brazil (regardless what Blatter says), playing on a far more mediocre team than Barca. He's not dominant as Ronaldo, in fact sometimes you rarely see him.

Yes, Suarez may score goals, but does he really stand out as he did in the EPL?

If anyone is genuinely of the belief he is from a different planet - if that is a good thing - then yes that is overrated. But I've never heard anyone honestly trying to say Messi is not of this world. I think that's just a turn of phrase.

I've seen no evidence of him going missing any more than Ronaldo. And with good players or not (unlike Ronaldo?!) his CL record certainly proves he can do it against top quality opposition

So Ronaldo's done what exactly in a team where he isn't playing with a load of other World-class players? Don't recall Portugal tearing up any trees at recent World Cups or Ronaldo being anything other than a sulking man-child.

Of the two, exceptional though Ronaldo is, give me Messi any day.

Maybe he will be a better signing then Angel Di Maria, how to waste 70million. I remember when Man United took pride in growing their own players.

There's surely no incentive now for any team to "grow their own players"; the big clubs just warehouse 25 million pound players and cherry pick the best young British and Irish players from smaller clubs at a fraction of their real value.

I do not mind big clubs buying the youngsters, if they made the players better and equipped for international football. So many good spanish players came through at Real or Barcelona, but did not necessarily make it at either club. Same in Germany with Dortmund and Bayern. But english teams buy from abroad and sod the english players. Apart from Southampton it seems.

If they are your partner or caddie it is still a penalty and replace the ball. If it is an opponent or an opponents caddie then replace with no penalty.

Much like hitting your bag. If you hit your bag you get a penalty, if you hit a playing partners, there is no penalty.

My most embarrassing shot ever.

one of the most iconic holes in golf- and the first time i played it- The 10th at the belfry- going for the green with a 3 wood. It started of way to far right- smashed the trees above the halfway hut and bounced straight back into the inside of my golf bag.

i just played 3 of the tee. i am not sure what else i could have done.

but as i said i had been waiting to play that hole a long time. And i still get ripped for it!!

Is there any reason why you were trying to lay up so far back. Should you not hit driver to get as close to the green as possible on that hole, unless the pin is right at the front.

i was going for the green Mac- i can hit it with a 3 wood.

and unless you are just joking- to lay up you would lay up with a mid to short iron so you have a fullish pitch in

mysti what tee were you playing from.

They are;

Red 262 yards
yellow 284
white 301
blue 311

Whatever tee you played that is a mighty 3 wood. Even at 262 I could probably get away with a 3 wood not reaching the water.

I have hit the green 3 times . The carry is not the length of the hole. I would say it's about a 250-260 yard carry direct from the White tee as the crow flies.

My driver in good conditions would just fly straight through. And bounce to hard

Playing of whites allways

What has handicap got to do with length.

I regularly play with a Surrey amatuer champion yet out drive him by 50 yards. And am 2 clubs longer. So don't try to patronise me.

I initially thought that (and got most of the way posting as such) but had a look, if I read the right rule you can choose to cancel the stroke and replay it.

Mysti

If you can apply enough clubhead speed accurately enough (i.e ball - sweetspot contact) to hit the ball 260 yards plus with a 3 wood you would have to try very hard to have a handicap much above low single figures. That is tour level length, which only comes from having a very good swing.
