What female tennis players have beer bellies, I've not seen any. Serena seems unlikeable doesn't she.

I've just had a few days in Anglesey. A trip to Wales and I got sunburn. Not expecting that!! Lovely place though.

Great effort by Watson, real shame she couldn't get the job done. Must be horrible at the moment for her given that she was two breaks up in the third. Outlook has to be good for her, but this could go down as a big, big loss in future years. I was looking forward to another one of Tennis's unpleasant characters going out.

With all the furore about Amanda Boyd recently , I thought I'd google her to see what I'm missing. What's the fuss? A real plain jane. Nothing special at all. Good for a fat ugly slug like Dufner whose bank account makes up for his aesthetic shortcomings, but really nothing that would make you double-take even on Hull High Street.

You see similar ad better in every city on every day. Over-rated.

I'm not saying I would require a paper bag for her, but she's nowhere near the Ivanovic/Hantuchova/Gretsky category of golf "wag".
Her "beauty" is certainly over-stated

Isn't that the second Darwin award candidate in the last couple of days? I'm sure I read somewhere about a guy in USA who was visiting a crocodile place and there was a sign saying "beware crocodiles, no swimming". Johnny Redneck was apparently last heard shouting f*** the crocs as he jumped in the water and was promptly ripped apart by one

He didn't take a single flag out, so 18 x 2 shot penalty = 36 to add to the 68 strokes. Please note the wink!

He hit at least one out of the rough, but yes incredible round. Adds credence to the "don't over think" your putts school of thought, look and hit. No 3 putts (I think?).

Something to try on Saturday...

What was more impressive to me was how few clubs he had - looked to be only 5 or 6. No messing about with "Oh this is between a 8 and a 9 iron" tosh. Refreshing.

Years ago when I played at our local Summer junior Opens, the lower handicaps went off earliest and there was usually a 3-club comp over 9 holes for those back early enough to fit it in. The number of times I scored the same or better with only 3-clubs for that 9 holes was embarrassing. As you say, none of the indecision as only had 3 clubs and, in addition, learned how to hit a whole load of 1/2 or 3/4 shots, hit greenside bunker splash shots with a 7- or 8-iron etc etc. Invaluable.

I've had plenty good putters for less than that. It doesn't have to be a Scotty to be a "good" putter. You could putt great with a £50 putter or terribly with a £250 Scotty.

That is true, but the off the shelf crud in American golf is the best part of £150. If you wan't something that doesn't feel cheap and a little disappointing you need to spend a bit more. Even the mass produced Scotty's are pretty naff at the moment.

The Yes putters actually seem to be of a better quality than many others at the moment.

I may be wrong but a lot of the bigger brand putters today look and feel like the putters you got in the Edinburgh Woolen Mill shops 15 years ago. If you find a Scotty from the 90's in decent condition the quality of finish is far superior to those on sale today.

Most important thing to me is getting the weight correct to the length.
My current putter arrived about 37 inch with no grip on so I was able to adjust to my preference.
