Wrong forum I know, but..
Just a quick note of tribute to one of the all time great cricketers and commentators Richie Benaud. Hard to be a sports fan without acknowledging his contributions. RIP and thanks for the memories.

Shane Warnes first ball. "Mike Gating doesn't know where that ball went, he still can't find the ball..!"

RIP Richie, no such thing as a wrong forum when appreciating great commentators such as him.

Re: Wrong forum I know, but..
Never watched cricket, understood it even less. But I often listened to it in the background for perhaps ten minute stints over the years from time to time...and even in those brief moments you knew you were listening to Mr Cricket. Just that calm tone, that laid-backness - you knew you were listening to a guy who knew the game inside out.
There are people who just have a voice you catch and listen to. Horse racing's Peter O'Sullevan had a remarkable one. I'm not a big fan of Golf but I often clung in there, listening to Peter Allis for hours - I love his pacing, gentle humour and rested tone. And Richie Benaud was undoubtedly another of the Great commentary voices of an age now quickly retreating.
Oh the 20th Century, despite the wars, was a great old century altogether.
