We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
First topic message reminder :
Missed the game today great result!
City have bought terribly since they won the title in 11/12, 100s of millions and no real certain starters or class players introduced.
They've prospered in a relative decline of the pl, picking up the top players from the non top 4 and the sub elite Europeans was good enough as a base but they didn't kick on and it has showed in Europe and this season.
6 wins in a row for United, city, Spurs and Liverpool in that run.
Top 4 all but secured, big test next week against chelsea.

Awful game, poor performance, could have put some pressure on Manchester City.
West Brom showed no intent to win the game though.

Think that's the top four sorted now, was still looking over my should with the game with Everton tomorrow without Carrick, Rojo and Jones but City will also be breathing a huge sigh of relief. Southampton, Spurs and Liverpool all drawing is the perfect day.

0-0 with Liverpool, happy with that. My mind is already looking forward to another season of PL football next season under Pulis. How about you, John?

Are you? I'm all for different styles of football, but if I was a fan I'd be far from looking forward to performances like that.

we've switched off for a while, all that matters was survival, next season, with a summer of Pulis signings & new invigoration, I expect us to progress further up the table & play better football. Anyway, I wouldn't worry about us, you might want to look a little closer to home because you're awful.

It's tight & brown my bottom after today. Just praying we scrape a home win from one of the WBA or WHU games. With a returning De Jong, Cisse & Sissoko, we can just manage it.......I think. Definitely gone are Burnley & QPR, it's all about 18th place now.

Looks more like 37 points could be the magic number for survival now, given the upturn in results from these lower sides.

At least we are now, statistically, safe from relegation - and with several games to go.

I think we're top, or at least top of the teams who aren't already in Europe. Its just hard to know if England are still in the top three for fair play in Europe (which would mean we're in Europa League next year) cos UEFA publish the standings about every 3 months

Re: We Go Again! The 2014/15 Premier League Thread
so looking at the run-ins:
QPR and Burnley look in trouble.
Leicester have some very winnable games, and given the form they're in you'd back them right now to get enough points from those to save themselves.
Sunderland look in real trouble too, tough fixture list.
Villa and WBA should sneak enough points to be safe.
Newcastle are playing absolutely awful at the moment, so while their games on paper are probably the easiest, you do wonder: they're mostly playing direct relegation rivals, and if they lose those games they get dragged right into the fight. Their saving grace might be Sunderland and Hull's run-in, where I'm not sure they can get 4 points more than Newcastle from.
My prediction: Sunderland to go down, with Hull and Newcastle just about clinging on.

I did, for about 6 months last year, and it put me off Liverpool fans.
When a 47 year old is taking to social media over whether to get Sterling or Couthinho on the back of his shirt you know it's time to get your coat.
It was a good tool to keep in contact with my boy, Duty, though whist he was serving his 57th ban from this place
Don't need Twitter for that

Yeah, it might of been to an extent delusional, but if you don't have belief or self confidence to achieve the maximum out of your season, given they were contending in Dec-Jan, then you really shouldnt bother being a professional at all. I remember reading similar comments from the Montpellier captain three or four years ago about winning Ligue 1, with a much inferior squad to PSG & co. They believed, never gave up & won the title.
You might hashtag never forget, however, you should really be hash tagging never, say never.
