This quote is filched from a contributor to the Surrey Supporters' Club website but so good I thought it should be more widely shared:
''Alex Salmond could be Foreign Secretary before Jade Dernbach takes another wicket''.

Laugh  That's a tad harsh!

Thinking of Salmond, I'm sure there's a half decent World Fishmongers' cricket team to be had, including:

Clifford Roach (WI)
CB Fry (Eng)
Graeme Pollock (SA)
Shaun Pollock (SA)
Ray Illingworth (Eng)
Ray Lindwall (Aus)
Peter Pollock (SA)
Kemar Roach (WI)
Steve Finn (Eng)

Great effort, Corporal!

A couple more fishy contenders for a plaice Wink in your team:

Kirsten Pike (Aus Women);
and my favourite Maurice 'Chub' Tate (Eng) - most books attribute his nickname to his chubby appearance but perhaps we are on to something else!

There are some would fancy a flutter on Salmond becoming first President of Independent Scotland before Jade etc. None of which may stop JD leaving Surrey for another county (probably Sussex) and kick starting his career again all the way back up to the England side. We've seen this sort of thing happen before, eg C Jordan Sad

Not forgetting also. "Guppy" Allen.  May be scraping the barrel there a bit. Wink
