WHAT IS THE BEST FILM WITH NO MORE THAN 2 WORDS IN THE TITLE?
Culture Cup 2.0 Rd 1 (Films)
First topic message reminder :
Right, here we go with the start of the Culture Cup 2.0
All nominations are cast and the voting process is ready. If you’re not all voted out after the excitement of yesterday, then please put your X in a box here.
Think carefully as you only get one vote and vote cancelling is not allowed.
The question for this round was - WHAT IS THE BEST FILM WITH NO MORE THAN 2 WORDS IN THE TITLE?
Remember, this is open TO ANYONE ON 606v2 WHO WANTS TO VOTE.
I’ve cunningly used www.random.org to mix up the titles so they are not in order of the list of posters.
Many thanks,
Tino.

Not The Exorcist. I went to see that at a midnight showing back around 1991. Thought it was pretty boring to be honest.

Some good choices. Went with Pulp Fiction, but could happily have voted for at least 4 or 5 films on there...

I thought Groundhog Day would have had one vote, with it being one of the best comedies of all time. The opposition is tough, though.

There are some cracking films there. Im going to have to lay down my personal feelings for Die Hard and actually pick the 'best' film and not my favourite.

Voted Fight Club. Whoever got Godfather probably knew they had this in the bag the moment Tiña confirmed it hadn't been taken

4 votes for Die Hard.
Citizen Kane? Decent, but let's face it, it's no Die Hard.

Re: Culture Cup 2.0 Rd 1 (Films)
OK, so round one of the Culture Cup 2.0 is over and what a round it was. Quite possibly the most exciting round in Culture Cup 2.0 history.
Who were the movers and shakers of round one, I hear you ask. Well perhaps no surprises, but The Godfather scooped the big prize, handing Paul a bag full of points on his Culture Cup debut. The random list giving him a chance to fire the opening salvo in 2015’s competition. The man who insisted on the random lists, our very own Trebs, came in second with Pulp Fiction, ensuring he sleeps well at night with 8 points tucked under his pillow. SerialDAVE makes the Champions League spots with Leon, the surprise package of the round, claiming 6 points for our lovable and very angry serial killer. Our reigning champion, Hero, quietly goes about his business as he does. Quietly and efficiently, picking up 6 points.
C&R, Harrier, Nakatomi and Adam should be happy with picking up 4 points apiece, a steady start to the season for those boys. Superfly smashed Jeff, with Pan’s Labyrinth quite literally proving twice as popular as The Hustler. These twoidiots great rivals should be in for a hell of a battle this year. Shah’s pick of Schindler's List only garnered him 1 point, but certainly wins the most ironic choice award. There were a few posters who failed to trouble the scorers, with the increasingly bitter Jules not getting anything for Groundhog Day. Loaded Dog will be kicking himself for not specifying which version of King Kong he had chosen because that would have made a huge difference.... Galted also failed to register with his Barton Fink effort. Life is so cruel. Not only does he look like Ray Mears, we can now add a terrible choice in films to his terrible choice in coats and footwear.
So the league table shapes up like this –
Paul (The Godfather) - 10 points
Trebs (Pulp Fiction) - 8 points
SerialDAVE (Leon) - 6 points
Hero (Die Hard) - 6 points
Adam (Jaws) - 4 points
Harrier (Citizen Cane) - 4 points
C&R (Se7en) - 4 points
Nakatomi (Fight club) - 4 points
superfly (Pan's Labyrinth) - 2 points
Union Cane (Scarface) - 2 points
Azzy (Reservoir Dogs) - 2 points
Beadle (Casablanca) - 1 point
Dagless (The Matrix) - 1 point
Jeff (The Hustler) - 1 point
Ziggler (Inception) - 1 point
Shah (Shindler's List) - 1 point
GrumpyG*lfer (The Exorcist) - 1 point
The Boss (Raging Bull) - 1 point
weeman (Gladiator) - 1 point
Michaels (Independence Day l*l) - 0 points
Jules (Groundhog Day) - 0 points
Ray Mears (Barton Fink) - 0 points
Dog (King Kong) - 0 points
The next round is on music, and the question is this - WHAT IS THE BEST SONG BY A FEMALE SOLO ARTIST?
Please can you send 3 choices and I’ll let you if you don’t get your first pick.
Here is the random list to determine who gets first dibs on this round:
Ray Mears Galted
Harrier
Dagless
SerialDAVE
Hero
Nakatomi
Jeff
The Boss
Jules
Superfly
Shah
Union
Paul
Beadle
Adam
Trebs
Azzy
Ziggler
Michaels
GrumpyG*lfer

Please PM me your picks and I’ll put the thread up when I have them all.
