Post by Adam D Tue 31 May 2011, 06:25

First topic message reminder :

Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.

The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence

So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

"God, why do I ask myself awkward questions? Ive seen to many to make a judgement."

No real need to judge - just enjoy. All I know was that exiting the gig after Zep at Earls Court, I had witnessed something special. The same with many a gig, but not quite as special as that.

Morning all.

Hope we are all well. Helicopter has had me awake a bit during the night. It was a Garda helicopter. My guess it's because apparently there has been a man attacking girls in the area last few days so they are on the look out for him maybe

Kia ora, mauri ora all (good morning, and cheers in Maori)

cuppa

Those lovely London 2012 people took £136 out of my account. £6 is transaction/delivery, and I applied for 3 £65 events, 2 x beach volleyball Whistle and 1 x archery. Very Happy

I probably missed out on some atheltics, track cycling, swimming and equestrian though.

Got up at 5.40 to go for a :run2:, though it looks like Asbo has me trumped on the early start. Time to head for work, laters all ...

Micks - I'm sure he won't get far, it sounds like they're closing in on him. He's probably local as well. Not very nice for the people in that area though when you ahve something like that going on.

Morning Hughie - any plans for the days off?

I just read that ja606 has been closed down already.

Wow, she was the one attacked in Kingswood? They must be up the walls.

Take his feicing arms while they’re at it. These people make me sick, the entire community will feel uneasy until they find this scumbag but he doesn’t care, a town is nervous and he’s thinking about his next victim. What kind of mindset makes people want to go so far against the grain of society. Sick.

I was thinking of adding a poll to the rugby section about peoples nationality/ national team supported.

Couple of questions:

Is it of interest?
Should I start a thread in the International section asking
Should I add it to the introduce yourself thread
Shall I not bother!

Good morning by the way - can I have a full English and a Bahama Mama to wash it down, please

It might be of interest towards the World Cup to see who people support. Stick it in the international section nearer the time.

I'm going to shop around Cari. If I can find permanent jobs based in Limerick, in the same line of work, with the same/similar hours and better pay I will jump ship.

Got a voice mail today about a German customer services role in Limerick for a pharmacuteals company. It pays a lot more. Don't know any more about it yet.

I will be honest, the mobile version seems to have been in "testing" for about 2 months now. Its not v2 who is building it but the software providers. Hopefully it will be soon but like most things they do, we wont find out about it until its live!

Great to see so many new members.

Whilst I am about today, has anyone got any questions/ suggestions for the rugby section?

Hobo, maybe give everyone "virtual money" and let them bet it against each other on the scores of games - might be hard but works on another site. You create a poll asking who will win, give people virtual cash and they lose/win it based on result.

The guy disappeared - as you can see, I was the biggest loser! If someone wants to revive the idea, please feel free to take it up though.

There is a whole gaming section (fantasy leagues etc) - you should check them out.

heart Dafyfdd Iwan's 'rebel songs'

Meinir Gwilym is a good listen too

Springsteen wasn't known as THE BOSS for nothing, love his stuff
Bryan Adams - really enjoy the 'Reckless' album (not much else though)

However, they all fade into the background when compared to Philip Parris Lynott OK

Morning again folks, safely made it to work. Just had a rare tube journey in - I actually talked to a random stranger - an Auckland-based Dutchman wearing an All Blacks jersey and watch, carrying an AB's wallet and with a "kiwis crossing next 1200km" sign stitched on his backpack. Talk about zeal of the convert!

Can I ask a favour of any of you that can be bothered!

I am trying to get the forum promoted by some big names. We already have had a few massive retweets (Peter Jones of Dragons den for example RT'd to 240k + people).

We are now trying to get Robbie Savage to do it but we need bait:

https://www.606v2.com/t5830-which-footballer-has-had-the-best-hair#136205

Could you all take 5 seconds to vote - if you have no preference, then just vote for Robbie.

Thanks

Technically it was before getting on the tube. We were both lined up for a minicab outside the station last night (it was dark and I didn't want my takeaway to get cold so I managed to justify being lazy Wink) and had a quick chat, then our walks to the tube this morning crossed routes. To be honest, last night I only said hello because I saw the NZ patches on his backpack - Kiwis are pretty thin on the ground in Greenford.

USUALLY they do. But when Huggy, MickyT, Aonghus and I get on the case, things start to happen that never happened before.

Like getting a stranger to hum and dance along to the impromptu a cappella version of Africa by Toto that broke out among us.

Damn MickyT and his rhythmic tapping on the seats!

Ha that's cool. Makes a change from the usual stony silence you get. I like talking to random people like that. When I went to Dublin I got chatting to a few travellers. I met a couple heading from Cardiff to Paris, then coming home I met a couple from Bridgend who'd been visiting their son in Dublin, (before I met You Know Who). I also helped this girl with a ridiculously huge bag she had from Cardiff airport into town. I got her onto a cab at the station before heading home on my own. Smile

I like that too. Hitch hiked from Holyhead to Cardiff in 2008 with a lovely Welsh couple. Chatted to a rugby club on tour on way back from Bordeaux in 2007. While I was in Munich I had some girl spill her heart to me on the train about the things that were bothering her. Me and her sat in a compartment together and after about 15 minutes of her sobbing I made small talk.

Ha Staggy, some people charge by the hour for the service you gave her. Sounds like she would've spoken to anyone. I'm sure it helped anyway. I've never had that before....I don't know if I'd want to.

Morning all,

I bet Hobo will be happy. A few topics are getting some numerous responses and it looks like the Irish posters are back to form.

Watching Scrum V. George North thinks he might grow another inch? Phooook.
