The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
First topic message reminder :
Welcome to the virtual rugby pub - a place where you can come in for a sly beverage and discuss whatever's on your mind, or just eavesdrop on the regulars if you fancy a break from all the rugby chat.
The only rule in this pub is one of mutual respect for everyone in it, oh and no defacing the Tommy Bowe photo on the bar. That's a banning offence
So pull up a chair....what'll it be?

Outdoor tomatoes in Scotland! Are you mad?
If you go to the supermarket for salad though, avoid the organic variety, they are the killer ones apparently.

Gibbo - not sure why the intro message of the pub has appeared on this page, very strange, but this isn't a new pub just yet, still got loads left on this one!
Still the site keeps telling me I have a message in my inbox, I go to check and there's nothing new there (Penfro - I've received your message and have replied, just waiting for it to go from my outbox!) maybe this place is just having a funny five minutes....

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I'm not 100% sure there are many new scottish posters over from the old 606, its just the majority of the scottish posters kept to themselves. I for one would rarely comment on a thread that was not linked to Scotland or Scottish rugby.
Not beacause I'm not interested, in truth I read a lot of posts over on the old one, but I did not always feel I had any opinions to add.
I do agree we do have a lack of English posters here at the moment.... but hopefully that will change as time goes on. I think it's very important that 606v2 captures as much opinions as possible.
I'm also glad to see 606v2 becoming busier!

Radge - aye that's true I guess, I'm just glad I get to read more about Scottish rugby on here! One of the great things about this site is that as there's no closuer time we're getting more posters from NZ and Australia too which is brilliant. Every day this place is getting busier, tis good to see

Pretty good,no complaints really.Munster had a good win on Saturday and while there are still plenty of problems I'm optimistic for the future.Cork lost on Sunday but produced a decent performance against Tipp.

Up De Dubs!
I sang the Boys in Blue song to Mickado yng Gymraeg at the Heino weekend...the Irish version I found a little more difficult, but I do remember that the word gorm was in it. Also taught him the slang word gomping/gomper - I'm not sure that's unique to the Welsh?

Okay, first things first:
Secondly - we had a request for the OP to appear at the top of each new page - nothing to worry about. If you want to change the content Cari, just post it and I will change.
If you are having a interesting discussion in the pub, try and start a thread as others who wont pop in here might enjoy it to.
Now was there anything else? Ah yes - I requested a Bahama Mama this morning at 9am and the barman still hasnt served me

Good idea about the threads outside as well. I think most of us post stuff outside if it's interesting enough.

Dreamer - not many people have. I heard one Welsh actor use it on a TV advert once. It's used to mean something not nice like "He's a gomper" (he's not very attractive) or "It's gomping" (it's not nice/tasty...etc). The Rolling Stones had a song called Gomper....

I've heard of gopping as well. It's funny actually cause you know the word chopsy? chopsing? I think it means someone's being cheeky whereas my Gwent colleague here, thinks it means someone who talks a lot.

I liked that one Cari! Oh and the chant in Irish was (phonetically) Nah Buke-ali gur-um ah-boo. Ah-boo (Abú) isn’t exactly “come on” but it’s close. It’s like “allez” in French I suppose…
Just booked 2 tickets to see the new X-men movie tonight. I won’t lie, I’m MASSIVELY excited about the whole thing!

Mick, I'll join you in that excitment. Also new Dark Knight movie been announced. Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Catwoman
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Ah it was goppin', I couldn't remember which word I used. Gomping/Gomper usually refers to people and food.
That chant looks even funnier when you write it phonetically.

Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
I’m a bit disappointed with the casting of Anne Hathaway, she’s just one of those generic actresses that all seem the same to me. I include Rachel McAdams, Jennifer Garner and Natalie Portman in that group.
Still though, it should be a crackin movie, can’t wait to see what Nolan’s take on catwoman is!

very few acts of moderation on the rugby section. Not sure how much the moderators have done. You have been a well behaved bunch
As for is this my job - no. This is a purely non profit making enterprise. We only set it up due to the BBC closing their 606 down. All the effort by the admin team has been in our own time.
I work from home (I offer high quality training at a low cost - tell your bosses ) so have spent a lot of time promoting and working on things.
The original admin team were all from the wrestling board on 606 but when a few other rival sites set up, we looked at 606 and could see where the problem posters came from (namely the footie board).
So we made the decision to target the other boards. We got golf and boxing over quite early and they really flew. My own personal project was to get the rugby board going which by the looks of it has worked!
Did I mention I offer low cost, high quality training?
We may have fewer members than the alternatives but in the sports other than football, we have more posts than all the other forums put together. And have only hada a very few wums (something like a dozen folk banned out of 2100).
Anyway, its kind of smowballed into what we have today - something that the other admin and myself are very proud of.
If anyone wants training - PM me.
Re: The Dew Drop Inn Virtual Rugby Pub
Stag - I've only edited one post myself and had to move I think 3 to the proper section but that is it. Everyone's behaving themselves so far on the rugby board and long may it continue!

Miackdo (I've retyped your name 3 times now so it can stay this way). I agree ENTIRELY about Hathaway and Co. But then again thats what I thought about Heath Ledger and Joker. No doubt she'll be some schizophrenic cat burgler.

We'll see about Hathaway. To be honest, I don't think Catwoman is a very good character. Only there for the sex appeal.
Tom Hardy as Bane should be interesting. His performance in Bronson was fantastic.
