What I've taken from today is that Miky has such a loose arrishole that he couldn't even feel Viva sliding his teamsheet up there. Quite the image.

Not far off, but Martinez the DM and Isco and Kroos more advanced.

Martinez
Isco - Kroos
Sanchez - Ronaldo - Bale

Or Tevez upfront and Ronaldo wide.

Ronaldo scored another hat trick yesterday. I think it was his 7th of the season. He's been playing more central this season and it is working better than out wide.

If people are going to get upset about a bit of competition, they shouldn't be playing.

You could add a bit of subjectivity to it - for example, you could get Man City bidding £25m for De Gea and Real only offering £18m. The subjectivity would be that United would be unlikely to sell to City and De Gea would prefer Real, so therefore the Real offer is accepted. However that really could cause friction so not a route I would go down.

The only real question mark I have at the moment is if managers were to bid right at the last minute. You could either make it like eBay and say tough, the highest bid at the close of the window wins, even if it was posted 1 minute before. Or you could say that the window is automatically extended for that player for another 1/2/6 hours after the last bid.

I think all managers have got to declare themselves 'out' if we are doing bidding wars.

So if I bid £50m for Rooney
Viva bids £60m
Azzy bids £70m

Me and Viva have both got to confirm we are no longer interested in Rooney on the page.

I like the bidding method, done it before and it was extended by 8 hours when a new bid came in. I would add the caveat though of a minimum percent increase and it's binding if you win to stop others forcing bids up just to make others run out of cash.

Okay, so the proposal would be:

Bids are made on a TP page. The highest bidder at the close of the window gets the player. With the following caveats:

  • The minimum bid is the players value on TM
  • The window is extended by 8 hours when a new bid comes in (only extended for that player)
  • A new bid must be at least 5% higher than the existing highest bid, with a minimum increase of £100k
  • You can only bid up to the value of your available transfer budget at the time of your bid.
  • A bid is binding. If you win, you must take that player.
  • If you are the current highest bidder on a player, the value of your bid is deducted from your available budget towards other players, until you are outbid.

Trebs - I am not really clear on the reasoning for needing to declare yourself out? As far as I see it, if you are outbid, you are out until you bid more. Let me know why so I could add it to the list if needed

I would imagine itd work better if you ran a 9-5 window for bids, with an hour to run between those times for successful bids. Can bid outside that window but time only ticks down in the window

Yes. As long as there is no opinion needed i.e. it is purely the highest bidder, within the rules, wins.

I should add that it is entirely down to you guys. If you want to do it, then I am happy to run it, but happy either way.

The 8 hours becomes 1 hour but time only ticks down between 9am-5pm.

Id be more annoyed missing on a player between 12am and 8am than during working hours

So for the transfer window of weeks 1/2, each day becomes a mini-window within a window?

You could then set the mini window to close at say midday each day, and an extension of 1 hour from the last bid where needed

I'm a bit more with you.....

So set the window closing at 9am, and then any extension that is needed starts from there. Might need to be more than 1 hour potentially, could be two hours in the morning, and reduce to 1 hour in the afternoon.

And is we get to 5pm, the clock stops and starts again at 9am the next day.

And when I say each day, I mean apart from weekends.

I aint logging on at weekends just to do TPs

Im fine with that now you've outlined it Ok! My main concern was people being outbid over a short period so a cheeky last minute bid and people not being able to re-bid cos of work.

How about the discussion with GSC, which builds on it a bit.

Effectively, each week day becomes a mini window, for the duration of the larger transfer window.
