Januzaj is interesting. Id have thought Gestede peeling onto Blind would cause a lot of problems too

Early days but Darmian does look like a full back who can actually defend.

Januzaj is playing beautifully in the middle, causing a lot of problems. Big game for him tonight and he is making the most of it.
Villa not playing badly at all. Been a good game so far.

Epic headlock by Darmian on Richards at a corner lucky to escape a pen.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Richards has played well.
Disappointing with the goal, no deflection and Guzan saves it.
Early days, but Ayew needs to do more.
Can see Utd scoring again, so we need to score 2, at the moment that wont happen.
Gueye looking a bit iffy in first half.
Hopefully when Gestede comes on can cause utd some problems.
Amavi looking to bomb forward.
Will see how second half goes.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Rooney is playing atrociously, and is giving Roy Hodgson all the evidence he needs that you should never, ever play Rooney in a number nine position.
United look completely insipid in a creative-sense, and can be thankful that Villa's work-rate declined more than a train driver on the London Underground for the last twenty or so minutes of that half.
Crossing from both teams has been woeful. Villa aren't a team equipped to chase a game, so this last forty-five minutes could be a torturous, uphill struggle.
Smalling and Darmian look tidy in defence, though. And the referee is having a good game.

Well grinding out wins when you're not playing well is probably a good habit to get into. Certainly not something that happened when Moyes was manager.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
And so the frustration begins.
To early to be critical, but fk it.
Ayew and Gueye look poor.
Veretout needs time to adjust.
Amavi looked good.
Least we didn't cave and concede 3-4.
Only 2 games gone.
Grealish and Gil to come back.
Tough trip to Palace next saturday.

He's not match fit yet.
As much as I like Gabby he is poor.
Another player who came through the ranks with so much promise, but failed to deliver.
Sadly that list is long at Villa.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
I think that was a decent if not great performance by United. Comfortable, a few chances and much more assurance. Their slow start last season was hugely different to this. The full backs look so much better, Darmian is a great buy by the looks of things, and the midfield has depth and strength.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Darmian looks our best signing so far and Shaw has started better than last year; Blind may not be the answer in central defence but he can read the play well and help organise defensively with Smalling. In attack we need to move the ball forward quicker, wide men need to take on their full backs and we do need another striker.

we aint going to win the title with rooney as our main striker, played like a pub player again last night but of course thats just united fans being harsh on him. will score a couple of taps in against newcastle and everyone will tell us how he's our best player again.
nani used to get some stick for it but he's become a 1/5 player these days

Logic-defying football taking place today, as ever.
Everton hammering Southampton 3-0 away, a week after scrapping for a draw at home to Watford. And West Ham, 2-0 winners at the Emirates, going 0-2 down within a half at home to Leicester.

Joke ref. Deserved a draw, but defending like that in the first half deserves punishment. Payet finish was cracking. Feel sorry for Adrian, it's not malicious he's just trying to control a ball not knowing Vardy is there.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Clear red for Adrian, having seen it on the twitter, and well done to the referee.
I actually read on twitter someone saying he shouldn't have been sent off because he was "watching the ball the whole time." Ah that makes it alright then?

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
I feel for Adrian. He's watching the ball go over his head so he turns to control it. I don't think he has any idea the player is there. It doesn't look great but worse tackles than that will escape reds. Ref was a joke all game anyway, farcical all over the pitch.
