Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
First topic message reminder :
Now the season is over, the rumours begin!
Milner/Ings to Liverpool seems likely.
Benitez to Real Madrid, Bale staying.
Falcao is desperate to move to Chelsea.
Otamendi and Dani Alves to Manchester United.
Raheem Sterling to Arsenal
What else?

From that link, he sounds like a clone of Delph, with high energy, mobility & breaks up play. I think it's obvious Villa know Man City will come in for Delph or already have done so, Lerner would not splash out nearly £10m just out of the blue.

A west ham official site blog suggested neither us nor Palace were gonna get him, so makes sense for it to be Villa

Spurs have sold Holtby to Hamburg. Never got a real chance, thought he was a good player and would have loved to sign him.

Terry Gold's been on the wireless, saying that West Ham have been in talks with Arsenal regarding a permanent deal for Carl Jenkinson.

Obviously going to be made permanent that deal, he can't sit behind Debuchy & Bellerin. Song to be confirmed within the next day or so.

AC Milan strike force of Carlos Bacca & Luiz Adriano next season. Not bad.

I know deals can be agreed before hand but the transfer window has technically only been open for 3 days hasn't it? People panicking already!

Shame it never really worked out. When he was on form he was unplayable, just unfortunately the times he was on form were few and far between

The reason WHY he's still available, he's over-priced. £15m is no loose change & even though we're desperate, Ashley is no mug. Neither is anyone else by the looks of things, seeing as nobody has signed him. I think we will make a move, but it looks like Ashley is playing the waiting game.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Maybe Ashley's lining up a move for Balotelli, if some of the rumours are to be believed.

£15m for Austin is ridiculous, nobody decent is touching him. I doubt he would of even contemplated joining Leicester anyway.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
The clubs have still to agree a fee according to the reports I've read. United must have someone lined up, as it'd be a disaster for them to go into the season with Rooney and Wilson as their only out and out striker. Despite being past his best, I still think Van Persie has a role to play at Old Trafford.

Could be a pair of inspired signings to be fair. Both had good reputations before joining Spurs, and would hardly be the first foreign signings to underwhelm there. If the price is reasonable its a decent punt

Think it's £5.7m for Capoue & Strambouli takes it to £10m. I'm not convinced on either really, Watford originally wanted Paulinho, so this is basically their back up options.

weve still got hernadez, who last season would have been a much better option than falcao

I think Hernandez might possibly stay; Cleverly, Nani and Van Persie leaving is a good start, just got Rafael and Evans as other certainties who should leave.

talk of evans being a part of the coleman deal, makes sense from our side but not sure for evans and everton when they have jags and stones, although jags is very injury prone these days and they have no back up so could still happen

Wouldn't say no to that but these swap deals are always quoted in the media but very rarely do they actually come off; feels a bit like a football manager game at the moment, seeing who we can get rid off before bringing players in.

Would be an upset if Hernandez came back to be honest, imagine he'll be shipped out like Nani. Wouldn't surprise me if Kane were a target, probably look younger and permanent after RVP and Falcao struggled a year ago.

Toby Alderweireld to Spurs looks pretty much in the bag. Should form a decent partnership with Vertonghan next season.

Talk of Evans being part of the deal with Coleman, this would be bad business for Everton, Man U and anybody else should be told Coleman's not for sale.

Man U definitely have the money to do it, just depends what Everton value him at, what Man U are prepared to pay and where the player sees he's future, if Coleman fancies champion league footy its a no brainer.Hammersmith harrier wrote:Everton don't have the clout to do that Nico, if United want him then they'll get him.
Man U would be hard to turn down for any player with ambition.

Darmian of Torino being linked, thought he was good in World Cup but seen little of him since.
On another note gundogan signed a new deal with dortmund last week, hadn't seen it mentioned here.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Theres barely a side in the world with the clout to stop players getting bought. If I were Everton Id ask for £20m plus Evans. However, the buzz around Darmian seems to have gotten stronger.
Muppet full of Ogbonna rumours, on a flight to London to speak to West Ham.
Spurs seem to be getting Alderweireld. Think thats a very good deal for them. And I think Watford getting Capoue and Stambouli is excellent work on their part.
RVP leaving is good to see, I honestly thought him worse to watch than Falcao last season. Higuain would make sense, Cavani too, in fact probably Cavani more so as he can play as a wide forward. Interesting to see that United really have the worst forward line of the top four challengers. Well, unless you include Spurs, but they're never gonna finish top four again.

Southampton primed to take legal action against Atletico if they sell Alderweireld to anyone but them saying they had an agreement to make the loan deal permanent, seems unlikely to me.
Like Ent I saw Darmian during the world cup and looked ok against England but it's easy to forget the Italians were only marginally better than us losing to both Uruguay and Costa Rica.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
More info on the Athletico Southampton situation, Saints had a 6.8 million buyout clause to make TA a permenant transfer. Madrid could have cancelled the buyout option before the end of the season, by paying saints £1.4 million. However they did not do this therefore Saints still have the buyout clause in the loan deal and are looking to use it.

Downing back to Boro is a strange one. Would like him at Albion.
Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Not surprising, he's ageing & always wanted to go back up north to end his career. I wouldn't want him at Albion.
Hearing that Matty Phillips is signed this week, superior to Downing & younger.
