The feds must have had somehting on him!
But don't forget this won't change much.
Endemic corruption in fifa. Pervasive money grabbing rules supreme there.
They still voted him in, vive la revolution!

A guy with no power the last 3 years on clay crashes out to a top 5 on form player. Even the biggest Fed fan won't be shocked,.

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Think you've summed it pretty well TRuffin.
You just can't travel the world and play that many consecutive Slams season after season after season, without eventually showing up with a totally flat performance where you are there for the taking ; and it will become more & more of a normal/regular pattern from now on.
He will continue to trouble a lot of rookie, younger players for some time to come. But the ability to produce enough of the old quality, and with enough consistency, to see him through the business end of Slams is pretty much gone.

Federer has played 60+ consecutive slams without missing, IIRC.

Nishikori goes hot favourite as he pulls it level at 2-2.

Federer has done many impressive things but not getting injured is just good luck.

I think the style of play is a significant parameter in such an equation. But this is for the Sticky.
Nishikori v Tsonga with Nishikori serving first.

Nishy is definitely a cut above Tsonga in mentality. Tsonga needs to strike first to have a glimmer of hope

Fed plays slams even when he is unhealthy. Luck is not part of the contract buddyhawkeye wrote:laverfan wrote:

I hope this match does not go crazy like 14-12 in the fifth for example. Give the winner a chance in the SF.

This is true.
There's a helluva lot more than 'luck' involved here !
It's not just about being able to turn up at the Slams, but more about what happens when you're there. Federer has 281 Slam match wins. And even Connors - who is next on the list and played impressively for many more years than Fed - trails well behind at 233.
Tight finish to this second QF.......

Yeah, it's already looking great for Stan.
Nice to see Carlos getting to Umpire a big match, this may be one of his last opportunities for the event.

Nishikori in a big hole, now. Tsonga played RG SF last in 2013. It would be good for him to get to one here.

So a straight sets win for Murray?
So saying that after Nadal BEATS DJOKO, you still think Murray will give him a "beatdown"?
Can we bet on this?

More excuses as usual
Big nose is lucky that stan didn't find his mojo earlier or he coulda been on 13 slams instead of the inflated 17 and swiss number too for many years

In your dreams. no one beats rafa easily specially not here. Its gonna take at least five sets and well see if the joker has what it takes.Rafa's just found his form at the right time and if the joker takes it ti five I know who I put my money on.

Talk about unlucky. Jo edges Kei in tense 5 setter, but has celebrations marred by dog poo on the court.

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Nishikori loses in five sets and perhaps shows the level he is at and striving to reach. Having coming from two sets down and with all the momentum against Tsonga and Kei still blew it. Great credit to Jo but why do I feel if that had been say Novak or Rafa hauling it back to 2-2 they'd have won that last set without fail.
Still credit to Tsonga who will play Wawrinka in the semi in what should be a cracker and could go either way.
