Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Feds being outplayed here, too passive really (not something you'd normally associate with him), his serve bailing him out of trouble early in the second (with a bit of help from the umpire there...)

Fed's wife will soon be shouting in Stan's direction. Then the choke will come like in London last year.

Not the same sharp player who beat Monfils yesterday. W can easily wrap this up soon in straights.

Jo's brain has locked up. Interesting match if Kei can level it up.

Tsonga two sets up and Nishikori has no answer. Wawrinka two sets up and Federer looking down both barrels.

100% First Serves won by Stan, Fed had to do more to gain the upper hand. Think this will end in straights

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Not sure Tsonga-Nishi is a done deal yet, Tsonga hasn't quite settled since the interruption, and if Kei can just nick this set you never know... Feds needs to go for broke IMO, his tactics of waiting for Stan to miss just aren't working.

FH winners: 20 to Wawrinka, just 6 to Feds.
Feds's serve the only thing keeping the score even reasonably close...

An ever-more frequent refrain, sadly.
Still time for Mats Wilander to declare that Federer is playing better than ever.

Fed needs to get pressure on Stan; he would mentally crumble. But he can't.

big hold for Stan, Feds had a look-in there, you sense if Feds can nick this set there'll be life in this one yet, crowd really getting behind him now.

Wawrinka with a bad miss at 1-1, but levels it up with another big FH next point.

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Stan in great form, doing everything right. Federer not even at the races today, looks weary, half asleep.
I think this will finish up in 3 and at least I put a big caveat on all my predictions including this one which I thought Fed would sneak in 5.....
But no hope for Roger with the games he & Stan have brought today. No way.
Great performance from Stan, heading for a decisive and well-deserved victory

Feds at last trying to be aggressive with the FH, but eventually Wawrinka gets a look on a BH and murders it down the line for 3-2. Now 3-3 at the changeover.

fed goes home, a disaster of a show up, unless it's some swiss banking conspiracy to let Stan go to the Final, with bigger chance to take the title

Terrific performance from Wawrinka, outplayed Feds from start to finish, and thoroughly deserved the win.

and Nishikori, having staved off multiple breakpoints in the previous game, duly breaks to nick the third set 6-4. Still legs in that one.

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Disappointing and predictable match on Lenglen. Stan played great but dipped a bit after the first set; Federer was fairly decent in the first set as well, but then played two dreadful sets of tennis. The writing was on the wall early on.
Well done Stan - just please, please don't choke it away next round. At least give whoever's in the final from the other side some sort of competition.

Maybe it was Mirka leading the booing?
A joke folks by the way.

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Anyone think Kei can complete the comeback? Such a long way to go, but he was much-improved that set and did very well to hold off JWT at 4-4.

Re: French Open 2015 - Day 10
Huge gap in respective performance levels for that Swiss clash.
Wawrinka looked more like a World No.2 ...... so calm, composed & ruthlessly efficient.
Fed, for whatever reason, looked like someone ranked 45 who has never even spent time in the top ten. But that takes nothing at all from Stan, he was superb, back to his AO-winning best today, and now needs to take that momentum into his semi.
Here's hoping Nishikori can push this to a decider ....... We want a longer match after Stan made such short work of Fed ...

Fed just can't recover from match to match at this age no matter how fit and fresh he says he is the day before.
These type losses puts into perspective how amazing the Federer semifinal streak was. All those players- in form to make it to quarters and surely many playing blinding levels like Stan was at times today, and Fed beat them year after year for so long. No one stays young forever though.
