I think it was so heavily skewed in favour of Real, Barca and Bayern at the start, that with brief windows and not a lot of cash, I can't see others catching up. Tactics get you so far, but they are never going to bridge the gap enough. It'll be between those three for the title, even if they perform badly.

I think your order of things is about right.

For me the top two will still be Real/Barca (possibly Bayern challenging) then a pack chasing 3rd, Arsenal possibly the pick of the bunch.

Porto soon to join the ranks

I have to agree with you Afro, I've done a couple of decent transfers to improve my forward line but I think it would only be an implosion of transfer gaffs by Marky, Trebs and Nando that'd give others hope and that's not going to happen for all three teams.

If I'm honest I didn't think I would get Gotze off of Nando but he sold him to me.

I didn't think Marky would let Varane go either but we managed to work out a deal.

With Gotze I think it's due to him being quite hot and cold at Bayern, he doesn't look happy there.
Varane surprised me though.

Varane was behind Pepe and Ramos for me, and now I have Ramos, Boateng and Chiellini who would all be ahead of Varane so wasn't such an issue for me.

I have to think the title should be mine if I avoid defeat against Bayern this week, as I managed to beat Barca last week. But I wouldn't rule out Juve and Chelsea getting results against the supposed big three, very early days.

Really? I always find it interesting the varying different opinions.

I guess ultimately it's actually close between the players, hence the different ratings from different people.

Of those 4 I'd have:

Boateng > Varane > Chiellini > Ramos

Though you had an equal to all of them in Toprak who you let go for a pittance on release.

Ribery is a sub, but so was Toprak Wink

It's more that if I lose one of Ronaldo/Hazard/Aguero/Isco then Ribery can come in and with a reshuffle it's still very strong going forward.

Makes my point. In terms of pure ability (i.e. take out his love of a red card in key games) I'd have Ramos first and Chiellini last. Underlines the difficulties in building a squad to cater for 11 opinions that are probably different from your own as well.

So basically I like Boateng, no-one else does! Look to offload him them as I've already voted Wink

Afro nailed it regarding Ramos, as a defender he's excellent, that risk of the red mist though makes him a bit marmite on the league.

Laugh

So far then we've probably had all 4 of them put in each of the 4 different positions.

Marky - you need to print off these posts today, then you can have a look who is voting and pick the partnership accordingly.

We could do your midfield next, then your strikers tomorrow, and that is your team selection sorted for the season:laugh:

I'd like to see the FIFA games take more of that into account, I know they wouldn't want to show it happens in the game but I'd love to see the ability to play up to the ref, diving as a button option that can then potentially win a freekick or get a yellow if seen as blatant. Refs making dodgy decisions, players having a scrap, it's all too clinical at times.

Will his rating go up or will it only go up when he can actually play? I guess his value will go up at least.
