I'm looking forward to the collaboration between Blues and Merthyr. It will be good for Welsh rugby.

Heard from a source that there aren't any superstars coming in now, one of those supposedly not signing is Matthew Rees.

Filese was at the beach rugby in a Blues shirt doing signings and what not. What is the status with him now? Is he basically a Blues player loaned out to Merthyr?

If anybody is interested, there is a nice video on this link and it shows what Merthyr are trying to do, although Owen Money (Lynn Mittell) is a Winkle of the highest order and not a person me or my family see eye to eye with, at least it shows Merthyr is a decent place.

Well, it's been a perfect start so far for the Iron men. Two wins out of two. They have beaten Bridgend 45-5 and walloped Beddau 5-55 to claim top spot with maximum points.
looking good so far.

Bargoed seem to be struggling somewhat. They lost their first league game. Was pretty shocked. Perhaps they've lost players, since they can't go up?

Not in this league. Though it's almost a wasted effort, as they're bound to be one of the teams up anyway.

A real kick in the nuts for them that was too. Of course if the Prem was expanded and then ring-fenced years ago there wouldn't be such a distasteful scenario.

Bargoed will never get in the prem unless they get an A licence.

Yes, I agree. They the WRU should help as many clubs out as they can. They should have given Bargoed a loan to get an A licence.

Well, well, well. Merthyr RFC are breaking records now as well. Poor old Llanharan Merthyr put 99 points on them and nilled them. A bad day to be a llanharan supporter.

No probs Steff, the way we are going, I do not think there is going to be anybody who is going to stop us. I have a sneaky underlying suspicion that it is not going to stop at Merthyr either. With Cardiff Blues announcing they are going it alone, watch this space for a good account for a valleys regions involving the richer of the two brothers.
With one anomaly so far this season Merthyr have scored maximum points and scored 30+ points in every game home and away. The only blemish is a 13-20 loss to Pontypool.
They are building something here, and I cannot see it ending with premiership rugby.

Trust me there is something brewing here in Merthyr, Stan Thomas would not plough all this money into the club of he did not have an end game, and with his brother announcing he is cutting all ties with anybody North of the M4 then why do you think it is such a laughable situation. All the WRU would have to do is withdraw their side of Dragons and there would be an opening. Stan Thomas is only doing what RGC1404 are doing, the only difference is, he is making a better fist of it.

What you are suggesting completely contradicts what Stanley Thomas said.

No I haven't. How would I know he's dyslexic, for a start? Dear me. I suppose his homophobic attitude is okay with you though?
It doesn't own 50% of Dragons per sé.
So no proof of his quotes then? Just supposition again from you.
