Liverpool Mafia?
I read an article the other day where it was pointed out that most of the TV pundits are ex Liverpool players and give a certain bias view when it comes to all things Liverpool. I am a Man United fan and I am not digging at Liverpool. The pundit that annoys me most is Phil Thompson but that's because I think he is rubbish.
Is the criticism of the Liverpool centred media a fair one?

Re: Liverpool Mafia?
Every club has its share of idiots in the media. Thompson and John Aldridge are paricularly bad for being biased towards Liverpool, but I think a few of the ex Liverpool players to varying degrees are decent (Murphy, Carragher when he's not on rant mode).
When a particularly emotive issue comes up, like the Sterling situation, it does seem to cloud certain people's judgement. Like I said this happens with every club. Going back a few years, i remember the likes of Paddy Crerand and Denis Law defending Cantona when he attacked the fan at Selhurst Park.

Paul Merson is the biggest idiot though maybe Thompson got inspiration by sitting next to him

It's fair to say they have a chip on their shoulders when someone rejects them and not friendly towards Arsenal after our Suarez bid

I'd forgot that Thompson had said the Sanchez deal was "a done deal" what a clown

Liverpool media are just very over the top optimistic/live in the past. They seem to think the 80's was just last week!

Yep I think Gary Neville hit the nail on the head when he said Liverpool in many cases are just a stepping stone for many players now

Steven Gerrard will be working for BT Sport for some of the Champions League/ Europa League coverage. Hopefully he'll be closer to the McManaman's & Murphy's of the world rather than Thompson.

I can't really remember, but didn't Gerrard when injured and working as a pundit briefly, talk bad about the Liverpool players? If he can do that as a player, I'm sure he'll be fine now he's not even playing for the club.
