RIP Dusty Rhodes
WWE is deeply saddened that Virgil Runnels, aka “The American Dream” Dusty Rhodes — WWE Hall of Famer, three-time NWA Champion and one of the most captivating and charismatic figures in sports entertainment history — passed away today at the age of 69.
Runnels became a hero to fans around the world thanks to his work ethic, his impassioned interviews and his indomitable spirit. Moreover, Runnels was a dedicated father to WWE Superstars Goldust (Dustin Runnels) and Stardust (Cody Runnels), a caring husband and a creative visionary who helped shape the landscape of WWE long after his in-ring career had ended.
WWE extends its sincerest condolences to Runnels’ family, friends and colleagues.
A true great and in many aspects of the business. RIP to the son of a plumber.

I've seen too few of his matches and promos. But from what I have seen his work was really top notch. Would be nice if WWE put together a couple hour special and showed it on the Network, because I'm sure there are many like me who've just not seen enough of his work.

Re: RIP Dusty Rhodes
Very sad news... TMZ reporting he had a fall which led to complications so maybe it was sudden :'(
Tough Enough filming cancelled today by WWE. Hopefully the WWE video team will be able to put together some great footage of his career for Raw, I for one did not have the pleasure of being able to see him perform live.

Re: RIP Dusty Rhodes
NXT crew are still on the road and as they all worked with Dusty at some point they are as motivated as ever to put on a good show in his memory. I'd imagine Raw will be in his honour.
Kidney failure is another thing i've seen, although as long as it was quick I don't really care for diagnoses.

Re: RIP Dusty Rhodes
The amount of positivity and respect coming out from all the Superstars, young and old is incredible. Everyone on NXT has him to thank at some level, and the older guys lost a dear friend.
Its a shame it takes something like this to bring the community together.

WWE has announced the following:
“In honor of one of the most iconic and legendary figures in Sports Entertainment, WWE Network celebrates the life and times of Dusty Rhodes!”
“Celebrating The Dream” is scheduled to run for one hour on the WWE Network after Raw Monday Night

Re: RIP Dusty Rhodes
Anyone else think this could be the catalyst to drop Stardust and bring back Cody Rhodes? I suspect him and Goldust will both be on RAW - even at the start for a 10 bell salute - makes sense for them not to be in character.

R.I.P an absolute legend.
Raw should absolutely be in honor of Dusty.
