Political round up.............
First topic message reminder :
Turn up for the books.............The hard left guy gets on the ballot for the Labour leadership !!....Managed to bag 35 nominations although some were chucked at him by Burnham who will no doubt pick up many of his second preferences...........
Corbyn has no chance....
However it means one of the other three is likely to get hurt in the first round..........Corbyn no doubt will hoover up the extreme nutty left of which there are no doubt plenty in the Labour party and will probably get enough to take him through the first round !!...
(Cruddas finished top in the 2007 Deputy leader race after the first round (He was the "left" candidate)...Of course Harman and Johnson did better as the rounds progresses with second prefs...)
That means one of the three favorites is likely to be eliminated first..................
Latest odds............
Burnham 10/11
Kendall 5/2
Cooper 3/1
Corbyn 66/1 .................

Could be..................But seeing as Corbyn is miles away from the other candidates and has taken a world load of crap in the last two weeks and is increasing his lead i'm not so sure...
He seems to have hit a nerve.....
Hopefully anyone that is a labour lover like wheelie will come to their senses......But I wouldn't count on it..

Absolutely stunning that Corbyn is now a huge odds-on favourite.
Popcorn time if this fascist-supporting, friends-with-Hamas, slightly to the left-of-Marx, I-won't-condemn-the-IRA, bloke wins!

Why you aren't worth bothering with on this thread..
He is all of those things, Truss. And many people within Labour know how damaging his victory could be to their overall prospects as a party.

Re: Political round up.............
Look I don't particularly like the Tories but I applaud the fact they have...
1. Raised the tax threshold for lower income workers..
2. Done more about collecting revenue from tax exiles than Blair ever did...
3. Brought in legislation for same sex marriage.....
Everything about Labour including the people are s**t according to you and it's getting boring...
Yes Corbyn's foreign policy is dubious and his economic plans are bollox..............But he wants....
Students not to be saddled with huge debts
He wants low end of scale workers to get a decent wage...
He doesn't want people who are genuinely reliant on benefits punished..
He wants homeless people off the streets....
Better funding for your NHS....
and what is wrong with that ?????
I don't want him to win ...but he's not a W**ker.......He's a naive man that means well that would get Labour crucified..
Dear me, having read what I wrote again I must say I am ever so sorry Duty old chap, quite why I thought it was ok to be so rude I'll never know. Do accept my most sincere apologies, it would be most unbecoming of me to talk to you in such a tone again and I shall expect to receive a lengthy ban if this mood takes me once more.

You have completely made that up. I do not think that at all. As I have previously said, Dan Jarvis would have been an excellent candidate for Labour leader had he stood.
Now, Corbyn:
1) Supports fascism - He is a known supporter of the fascist UAF group.
2) Friends with Hamas - He has referred to Hamas as "friends" numerous times.
3) Slightly to the left of Marx - Well, he thinks we all owe something to Marx!
4) Won't condemn the IRA - Well yes, http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/jeremy-corbyn-criticised-by-victims-families-after-failing-to-condemn-the-ira-10442683.html
Of course he has his good points - as I have previously stated, I admire him for being the only candidate for the Labour leadership who actually has principles and passion, unlike Burnham/Kendall/Cooper.
And Truss, after your antics on the other thread, the irony meter might be starting to overload.
I say what I think, I back it up, I don't insult other posters. I do wish you would do the same.

Labour have got a problem...
I won't vote for Corbyn in 2020 but If as rumor has it they are going to stitch him up by starting again with different rules...
Then I'll never vote for them again with such a blatant disregard for democracy...and I bet there are many like me !!
What a farce...

I still don't think Corbyn now (to be replaced, say, 2017) is that bad a problem from Labour.
Remember 2010-2012 was all about how the Tories were imploding.....but look what happened GE2015.

I think that's how they will go.....Leader for now ditch respectfully later and try to keep their left wing intact..
This joke is what happens when Westminster gets disconnected from the members and people who aren't from the area get given seats....
These clowns put Corbyn in the race without any idea of where the membership are in their leanings.....
For sure there are people entering to vote without Labour interests at heart but out of the 52% support Corbyn has on Yougov that is a paltry percentage..
Like I said.......Farce !!

Simon Danczuk thinks that if Corbyn wins the leadership election he will be ousted within twelve months. Ousted in a year? That would be incredibly harmful to the integrity of the Labour Party.
It seems that a flurry of Corbyn supporters rushed to register at the last knockings of the registration process, as well. I'm starting to think he'll stroll this leadership election, if it isn't called off.

Just let them get on with it.....
I'm through voting for them anyway...
They patronisingly put a naive, nice guy, no-hoper in the race to flannel the left wing....Without ever thinking where the party membership sympathies lie.....Because they don't know who the heck is in their party If they are honest !!!!!
They open the process to any old Dick and Harry to try to gerrymander.....
When the un-votable no hoper starts to win they talk about starting again....
They say well never mind when he wins we'll get him out by 2018....
HTF can take this party seriously.............They are a joke !!!!
It's a shame because every Country needs choice at an election to keep the incumbent in check !!.

Labour have safely spent my £3 many times over with the amount of leaflets I have been sent.
Charming folk. Ballots to be released soon, and the result declared on the 12th September.
Corbyn nearly over the line!

Re: Political round up.............
No wonder Blair is going after Corb, like him or not he loves the Party and is responsible for dragging it out of the dark ages - he knows what's likely to win a GE, and it isn't hard-left socialism that attacks the hard-working economy drivers and appeals to students & bums who are unlikely to vote anyway.
Labour seemed to acknowledge after GE2015 that they lost votes greatest in that socio-economic 'fat middle'. Corbyn is never going to win any of that back.

This is all so typical. The Fascists Tories went through years of collective brain-fade/fart after Maggie had her "Et tu, Brute?" downfall. This is the (beginnings of the) Labour version.

Anybody looking for a good bet should lay on David Miliband as next leader after Corbyn is kicked out...
He's looking for a seat and he has a lot of MP'S that like him..
Won't be an election after Corbyn gets stuffed..It will be like Michael Howard and a compromise candidate..

Well i think Corbyn will win, im part of the executive commitee of the worcester labour branch so i get to see information about our members, our youth membership has grown 4x bigger in the last 2 months, it all points to a big Corbyn win from the polls and reaearch we have.
You were on about anti establisment being the fashionable thing at the moment with Trump winning the GOP race.
Bernie Sanders is closing in on Clinton for the Democratic nomination also

Labour rejecting some votes cast in the leadership election, according to Twitter.
I say some votes, but it appears to be limited to those who have voted Corbyn (regardless of whether you're a genuine Labour supporter or not!).

No wonder Labour wanted to lower the voting age to 16....
Clueless starry-eyed kids are more likely to vote for ill-thought out wistful policies/parties, hence Corbyn's resurgence.

Laughable..........I can't vote Tory or UKIP... wouldn't be right....The Lib dems will say anything to anybody...

You were on about anti establisment being the fashionable thing at the moment with Trump winning the GOP race.
Bernie Sanders is closing in on Clinton for the Democratic nomination also
No wonder Labour wanted to lower the voting age to 16....
Clueless starry-eyed kids are more likely to vote for ill-thought out wistful policies/parties, hence Corbyn's resurgence.
Never.
Lowering the voting age is all about empowering the youth, and helping them to get involved in politics. The fact that 16-17 year olds are more likely to vote Labour/Green is a happy coincidence.

Perhaps Labour need more types like you and not the abusive types from the left and the right that have sullied the election..To be applauded wheelie is willing to fight to get the party he wants...
At least you have a choice over here.................The Democrats are further right than the Tory party is here......and both the GOP and DNC are fully owned subsidiaries of big business.

Well OK.
I would have thought that, with the values of Burnham and Corbyn being so diverse, it would be unlikely for you to wholly believe in, and be behind, the principles and policies of both men.
Though I've still got a sneaking suspicion that Burnham will land the victory.
