Political round up.............
First topic message reminder :
Turn up for the books.............The hard left guy gets on the ballot for the Labour leadership !!....Managed to bag 35 nominations although some were chucked at him by Burnham who will no doubt pick up many of his second preferences...........
Corbyn has no chance....
However it means one of the other three is likely to get hurt in the first round..........Corbyn no doubt will hoover up the extreme nutty left of which there are no doubt plenty in the Labour party and will probably get enough to take him through the first round !!...
(Cruddas finished top in the 2007 Deputy leader race after the first round (He was the "left" candidate)...Of course Harman and Johnson did better as the rounds progresses with second prefs...)
That means one of the three favorites is likely to be eliminated first..................
Latest odds............
Burnham 10/11
Kendall 5/2
Cooper 3/1
Corbyn 66/1 .................

Do you think Rubio is definitely going to take the nomination, or is there a possibility that Trump could potentially win the race?

If Trump or Carson win the race the Republican effort is dead. They know that. Trump and Carson both have large followings among the protozoan areas of America but nowhere near enough to secure the Presidency.
I'm enjoying Bernie Sanders, personally.

Carson hasn't been thoroughly vetted yet although his poll numbers are a surprise.....I like him... though he does have a lightweight look about him !!!

But Carson actually has a screw loose. He's basing his tax structure on the bible and believes the pyramids were used to store grain. He's also said that gun control was a contributing cause of the holocaust.
Seriously Truss, you can't be serious.

Labour's core vote is around 28 percent and with the newly acquired green vote that has seemingly returned.
It's hardly likely to poll so low.

Re: Political round up.............
Well for example after Corbyn Party Conference speech i said it feels like we are talking to ourselves again, which the labour party did not like, then after the John Mcdonnell's party conference speech where he backed the fiscal charter only to reverse that a week later, i said "he was leading a rebellion against his own policy, old habits die hard"
I have also been working in conjunction with my local MP Robin Walker who is a Tory to create a reverse jobs fair where local buisness firms who have no disabled workers come and hear the advantages of employing disabled workers.
So most of that has made me unpopular with some in the party

You are going to have to decide which is the worst of two evils mate...The Tories or the hard left....and If it's the latter rein your contempt in. My guess is Corbyn is gone by 2018..
I imagine for a man of integrity voting Lib dems is out of the question...
Like the GOP I could never vote Conservative.....Mainly because I hate bigoted snobs...and I had to live with one for over four years...Though it did have its compensations..

I will never join the Tories mate but you have to work with people who you don't agree with, as it happens Robin Walker and i get on despite our different political outlooks. Something like disability employment needs a long term cross party plan and it should not be a political football. Some in the Labour Party don't like me for opposing Corbyn and working on certain issues close to my heart with members of other parties. However if i can just help one disabled person into work then all the constant greif i get will be worth it

Well in two days ive managed to get my City Council to conduct a full review into disability employment in the City with backing from both labour and tories, i have also spoke to the disabilities minister in the government and we will be hosting a huge reverse jobs fare in Worcester early in the new year with cross party support so its going well at the moment

Re: Political round up.............
Your aim is for the acquirement of interviews for disabled people right ??
As opposed to hiring practices at the interview stage ??
My problem is with pressure employers may be forced into having an employee that isn't suitable for the job...
I sit in on interviews and the CV is just a portion of the selection. Appearance, personality, Do they come across as team players, would they be good with clients, ....All comes into it with other stuff.
My problem is unless you're in the interview with a disabled candidate you have no idea how they come across....So it's folly to assume they've been screwed.

Re: Political round up.............
My main aims at the moment i believe are attainable, one of the main issues i had was actually getting seen and as i outlined in a previous thread, i applied with the same cv but having hidden the disability i then got the interviews. Once at the interview i proved i could do the job and got hired but getting to that stage proved almost impossible with everyone when i was being honest.
I have also campaigned to stop have the 'are you disabled?" Question on job applications being binary 'yes-no' question as that is just wrong and there should be space to explain what your actual disability is

Ah but the Labour candidate this time around is one of those centre chaps - he backed Kendall at the leadership election. Slight conflict, one thinks.
I think UKIP have perhaps a 15-20% chance of turning Labour over - the turnout will be lower; the Tory vote is heading UKIP's way; that lovely protest vote is heading UKIP's way.
Maybe, just maybe.

We'll see, my lad, we'll see. And money isn't really an issue in that sense, seeing as how the overwhelming majority of people who leaflet/canvass are humble volunteers.
