You would think that by having your five remaining picks all finish in the points that you might have a chance at winning this thing.  Sadly for AlciG it more midtable obscurity than a podium finish as only one of those five made the top 10.  BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, SirBenson, and McLaren all had four of their five picks score points but the quality was a little varied and none of them could get lower than fourth.  Super_Realist and TheCleaver were among the majority who had three picks score but they had a trump card to play; they had chosen Bernd Wiesberger who only had the low round of the day on his way to victory.  This gave them a reasonable amount of separation from the chasing pack and a first victory for Super_Realist.  CJB and Hibbz also had three picks score and they had the runner up in James Morrison.  Pedro, Davie, Owen10ozzy, and 1GrumpyGolfer were the others to have three picks score.  Eyetoldyouso, LadyPutt, Redrage, Sand, and SetupDetermines all had two of their picks score but they still finished in the bottom third of the table.  I'm Never Wrong bucked that trend as he also had two picks but one of them happened to be Wiesberger.  Kwinigolfer had just the one pick score points.

Another pick took the points for the worst round; Victor Riu had a finish to forget with an 85.  It was almost enough to take last place but Adrien Saddier held on by one stroke.  Owen10ozzy and Pedro earned points from Riu.

After watching Bubba Watson win the Travelers Championship in a playoff the Fantasy Leaguers are departing the United States sans Watson to head for Paris and the Alstom Open de France.  This is the week that sees Graeme McDowell attempt to make history and manage something that Peter Oosterhuis, Seve Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, and most recently Jean-Francois Remesy were unable to do by winning for a third consecutive time.  Martin Kaymer fresh off a
disappointing week in Munich is the headline player and a former winner.  Thomas Levet and Marcel Siem are the other former champions to be making an appearance.

There are three Categories where you will need pick three players, plus reserve, from each one.  There are bonus points available if you get all of your picks through in any category.  Get all 9 picks through and you get an even bigger bonus.  It's all way down at the bottom in the scoring section if you are interested.

This is a full field with cut event, cut points will be available; see above.

RULES

Picking players: Unless stated, pick a total of 9 players as follows:

Pick 3 players from each category, plus a reserve per category.

Event winner: The person with the most total points at the completion of each event will be declared the winner. In case of a tie, those involved will match-off each picks' final position score in descending order. i.e. Player A's best finish vs. Player B's best finish, Player A's 2nd best finish vs. Player B's 2nd best finish, etc... until one's pick finishes better than the other(s).

If there is a tie after all 9 picks have been matched against each other, those involved will be declared co-winners.

Order of Merit: The person with the most total points at the completion of the season will be declared the Fantasy League Champion. If there is a tie for total points at the completion of the season, those involved will be declared Co-Champions.

Player Withdrawals: If you pick a player who withdraws during a tournament, that player will be eligible for points for all completed rounds and making the cut if they withdraw after the cut. It must be apparent that the player completed their round for them to be eligible for either the low round, worse round, top 5, or top 10 low round scores.  If a player withdraws before starting the tournament then your reserve will be put in that player's place. It is up to you to check that your players are in the starting field.

Holidays / Absences: If you will be absent for an upcoming event (e.g holidays) you may post the numbers on the most recent fantasy league event and the respective tournament(s) that apply or PM them to me.  Example: Pick 3 players and 1 reserve from each category and the relative event number or name: Players 4, 5, and 8, reserve 9 from Category A, players 1, 3, and 7, reserve 5 from Category B, players 1, 2 and 17, reserve 12 from Category C, Event #12.

Failure to submit picks: If you do not submit picks you will be awarded zero points.

Deadlines: Picks must ideally be submitted before the first drive is struck on the first day of the tournament.  However, late picks submitted after the tournament has begun must be for players who have yet to start (or are not showing a score on europeantour.com, PGATour.com, etc.), and these will not be valid unless they are seconded by any other league member.

All fantasy league disputes and discrepancies will be considered by the League Judge: LadyPutt. All decisions made by the League Judge are final.

Round one eventually finished with a very bunched leaderboard at the top. Four players, including three picks, tied for the lead after rounds of 68. Seven other players, including five picks, finished in the top five after shooting 69. At the other end of the leaderboard three players, including two picks, tied for the worst round of the day with 83s after the European Tour took Jin Jeong out the back of the range and said don't bother. Jeong had already taken 79 strokes and had three holes left to play!

What did all that mean for Fantasy Leaguers I hear you ask? Well, it meant a shed load of points were awarded and that no Fantasy Leaguer missed out on the bonanza. I'm Never Wrong holds the lead; he had two of the low round scorers, one top fiver, and in the case of Johan Carlsson was wrong. Davie had one of the low round scorers and two top fivers plus an oopsy in Alexander Levy. EmmDee57 shares second with Davie after he had two low round scorers and Levy. Super_Realist also had three picks score with a low round scorer and two top fivers; he also had the sense not to pick one of the really crap players too. BlueCoverman, Pedro, SetupDetermines, and SirBenson played it Countdown style with one from the top, one of the top fivers, and one from the bottom. TheCleaver picked a low round scorer and a top fiver while Hibbz and Kwinigolfer had two top fivers and a bad 'un. Sand had a good 'un and a bad 'un. AlciG, CJB, and Owen10ozzy all picked a low round scorer and at the bottom 1GrumpyGolfer, Eyetoldyouso, LadyPutt, McLaren, and RedRage all had a top fiver and bad 'un.

The low round scorers were Bernd Wiesberger, Rafa Cabrera Bello, Victor Dubuisson, and Jaco van Zyl; van Zyl was the only non pick. The worst round scorers were Alexander Levy, Johan Carlsson, and Julien Grillon; Grillon was not a pick.

More carnage and decimation for Fantasy Leaguers as the cut line fell at +4. 61 picks started the tournament on

Thursday but only 31 made it to the weekend. With such a cull cut bonuses became as rare as rocking horse droppings.

Having four or five picks left was the norm but there was one Fantasy Leaguer who bucked that trend, step forward

Pedro. Eight! of his picks are left and he earned two of these mythical cut bonuses. The majority have five picks

left but only five have a bonus; AlciG, BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, Kwinigolfer, and Super_Realist.

Daniel Brooks had the round of the day with a 66, Mortem Orum Madsen had the worst round with an 81.

Five picks shot between 65 and 68 to make the top 10 low round scores and twelve Fantasy Leaguers were the beneficiaries. CJB and Super_Realist fared the best of the scorers as they both had two picks score. Super_Realist leap-frogged EmmDee57 on the back of that. Davie, Kwinigolfer, and SetupDetermines lost ground as they failed to score. Five other Fantasy Leaguers, 1GrumpyGolfer, McLaren, Owen10ozzy, RedRage, and Sand, didn't score.

Jaco van Zyl shot 64 for his second low round of the week. Adrien Saddier had a 79 for the worst score.

You would think that by having your five remaining picks all finish in the points that you might have a chance at winning this thing. Sadly for AlciG it more midtable obscurity than a podium finish as only one of those five made the top 10. BlueCoverman, EmmDee57, SirBenson, and McLaren all had four of their five picks score points but the quality was a little varied and none of them could get lower than fourth. Super_Realist and TheCleaver were among the majority who had three picks score but they had a trump card to play; they had chosen Bernd Wiesberger who only had the low round of the day on his way to victory. This gave them a reasonable amount of separation from the chasing pack and a first victory for Super_Realist. CJB and Hibbz also had three picks score and they had the runner up in James Morrison. Pedro, Davie, Owen10ozzy, and 1GrumpyGolfer were the others to have three picks score. Eyetoldyouso, LadyPutt, Redrage, Sand, and SetupDetermines all had two of their picks score but they still finished in the bottom third of the table. I'm Never Wrong bucked that trend as he also had two picks but one of them happened to be Wiesberger. Kwinigolfer had just the one pick score points.

Another pick took the points for the worst round; Victor Riu had a finish to forget with an 85. It was almost enough to take last place but Adrien Saddier held on by one stroke. Owen10ozzy and Pedro earned points from Riu.
