First topic message reminder :
Not interested in the historical blame game...........We have a very big problem at the moment as the atrocity over the weekend shows.........
I'm at a loss at what to do about iSIS........
Personally think the horse has bolted....
Tunisia can happen anywhere at anytime...

$200 million is $370 million today.....Using a finance calculator.....
You wouldn't get 4 billion leaving it in a bank..
As I said if Trump was British he'd vote Tory and be a great guy...
Some posters are just bitter..
Actually Truss, I get the feeling if Mr Trump were British he would be throwing his vast fortune at Nigel Farage and UKIP.
Probably why Duty wants him to win.....
Clinton V Rubio................For me still...........Rubio/Kasich will be the ticket..

Don't forget he threatened to sue Quentin Letts the Mail journalist..
I thought only naughty "Americans" like Trump did that !!!
Meh - thats a bad habit we picked up from you lot! I think our "Special Relationship" has had some unwanted side effects.

So Trump made 11% pa return on a no risk basis. Not really that impressive. The S&P500 has done 8%pa and the FTSE100 7% pa over the same time horizon pretty much - and with none of the risk free, daddy's money, bankruptcy protection Trump has.

I'm just very very afraid that, if Trump (god forbid) somehow ends up as the next US President, he WILL start WWIII with Russia and China, leading to a global apocalypse.
He's got all the tact and subtlety of Borat and the political savvy of Forrest Gump. He seems to be under the impression that whoever shouts loudest win the argument.
Just goes to show money will get you anything and anywhere in the US.

The World is and has been heading down that particular road slowly and surely now for the best part of 20 years... without the help of a guy called Trump.
History reminds us that these World Wars take time. World War 1 didn't start with the assassination of Franz Ferdinand - that was just an excuse to kick start yet another empire war that had been bubbling for decades, if not centuries (Europe is always unfinished business waiting to reignite). And of course the 2nd World War started just after the first one ended but simply took another 20 years for people to realise that the war never really ended but just ceasefired for a while.
And here we are again - Europe the dangerous spark that nobody is really looking closely enough at in terms of growing World War tensions yet again. Too busy looking at the Middle east, North Korea and Donald Trump.
European Leaders would be best placed look at themselves and look at how their individual populations' tension and frustrations are growing as they see these same leaders again look to Empire creation - but this time throwing the guise of "European Union" onto it and hoping the people ain't looking. The people is looking and the careless 'Leaders' are sleep walking back down the road to another powder keg period for the home of all World Wars (Europe itself)
Trump is small change in terms of those growing dangers to World security.

Re: What can we do about ISIS ???
No he isn't
Trump is a bigot, a demagogue and a rabble rouser. Th last truly effective one of those was Hitler.
Except Trump could easily become leader of the most militaristic country in the world with a huge nuclear arsenal. A country largely developed n the back of war and the economic benefits it brings.
If Trump beats Hillary, which is eminently possible with her ability to antagonize John and Jane Doe, his appointment will be a signal to the world's other strongmen, that the silly season has started and the USA has quite simply opened its doors to chaos.
I fear for Donald, because i am pretty sure if he makes it to the White House, someone will decide that is not a good thing and may try to 'remove' him.
And i truly fear for the rest of the world because a strong USA is mandatory to world balance and his appointment could set off an irreversible chain of events.

Re: What can we do about ISIS ???
A bit like ISIS's tactics in a way.
No it isn't!
More attacks in Iraq, Tunisia, Afghanistan, Libya and of course in parts of Syria.
The US is now also pounding northern Syria, along with Russia, as well as carrying out more operations in Somalia.
What a convoluted mess of a situation we presently have. ISIS under increasing pressure and threatening to lash out in a big way.

That sort of reminds me of the Blackadder "20 Minuter's" episode with Rick Mayall giving the new recruits a dressing down before they fly out...

Re: What can we do about ISIS ???
I think ISIS are basically on their last legs. Bit like a boxer in the 9-10th round who's heavily behind on the cards and needs a KO. One last stand is all they have I think.

Their realm or caliphate has been substantially reduced... with basically a few pockets left in Syria and Iraq... and offshoots in places like the Philippines, Indonesia and Malaysia - who, btw are quite hard on suspected terrorists.
Is Boko Haram suffering the same sort of fate at the moment do you think, Raf? They have killed a lot more haven't they?

been a while since Boko Haram got into a fire fight they actually won. Yeah they've killed a lot more. But they aren't holding the oil capital of the wealth hostage so its okay.
