First topic message reminder :

Aviva Premiership fixtures announced today. Great for the fans to be aware of when and where their teams will play.

Lets see how far the pro12 are behind in releasing theirs.

You completely miss the point, Chunky. Deliberately?

The point being that it is an eight-man board of directors,  fact that is also supported by wiki, that the board of directors is made up of two directors representing each of the four unions involved - two Welsh - two Scots - two Italians - two Irish. That the eight directors you posted are not likely to be all Irish and that they do not all have voting rights.

But they are running the competition. The Irish run it. For the Irish. You are the one missing the point.

Here's a question, please answer it - If the competition suddenly announced a restructure, and moved to Cardiff, with 8 Welsh Directors instead, do you think we'd see a difference in things like tv broadcast deals and fixture times?

No they don't run the competition. This is a figment of your imagination. I do believe you actually believe this, but you are completely mistaken. The facts are there, Chunky. The competition is run by an eight-man board of directors with a chairman who happens to be Welsh.

Your question is ludicrous. The PRO12 is not ran by an eight man board consisting of eight Irish directors. It is ran by a board consisting of eight directors representing two from each nation. I couldn't care less if it moved to Wales as long as it made sense to move to Wales. It made sense to move to Ireland.

You didn't answer the question.

Because your question is based on fiction. It's nonsensical. It isn't happening now and it will never happen. If Irelands two representatives were replaced with two Welsh, I wouldn't be happy at all, but that's never going to happen. Just as the two Welsh representatives will never be replaced by two Irish. It's ludicrous.

Sunday would suit Munster - there is a long tradition in Ireland of going to GAA matches on a Sunday. Its Friday night that doesn't suit (distances to travel, too late to bring kids).

Ok lets try this again, when have the Welsh regions complained about an Irish conspiracy? If this is all so obvious why aren't there Welsh journalists working to expose this or are you the only one smart enough to unravel it all?

What you have provided is complaints about money that is raised and something that affects all teams not just the Welsh

I would think any feedback is given behind closed doors. I'm sure Mark Davies reports to the board on what the regions have to say about their ludicrous kick off times compared to their Irish counterparts.

If this is a great conspiracy then what good is feedback going to be?

Admit what?

Friday nights are the big issue with Munster. They don't work. Sunday would be great for business. Have a look at a few GAA matches and see the number of families out at GAA games which are usually played on a Sunday.

I'll give you this Chunks you are the best wind up merchant on here since the Kiwi Voldemort ghost.

If the WRU feel so hard done by why don't they just fork off somewhere else, maybe the English would have them (as if), or maybe they could play with themselves, start a professional league at home, bring in Ponty and Merthyr, revert the regions back to Cardiff, Scarlets, Newport and Swansea and watch Welsh professional rugby collapse for a generation (or possibly forever) but at least you showed those blydi Irish bar stewards eh?

Or alternatively how about RWW and WRU actually getting their sh1t together and promote professional rugby in Wales properly and translate the sucess of the international side and the attendances at the Millenium into attendances at club games and stop blaming the rest of the world for what are essentially internal problems?

..... That you're cheating, lyin' scum innit - and know full well that the Irish mafia OWN the Pro12!!!! - with their 28 strong heavy-boot Black-Shirt Propaganda Brigade (BSPB) of ex-military members that are paid exclusively by the IRFU to 'encourage' the Scots, Italians and most especially the ever unruly Welsh to keep their mouths shut and obey IRFU commands in the full.  They of course do so by use of a policy of either brown envelopes stuffed with bribery money OR late-night-call intimidation, threats and/or punishment beatings....

It's a professional sport though.  No room for sentiment.  Every competition needs a strong central Leader telling everyone else what to do and how many press-ups to do when bold.  Just look at F1, FIFA, the Olympics etc....  One Strong Overlord to put the little lads in their place.

It's good for the gyme.  But admit it, Munch, you know very well what you're being accused of here.  Don't be evading the truth.

Is it like the 3rd different Italian broadcaster in 3 seasons? Also they will only show one live game when Nuvolari showed 2 last season which doesn't look like an improvement. Hope they bring in more cash at least..

I think it is the 6th in 6 seasons. BUT. Rai is the BBC of Italy while the rest have been small ppv sports channels mainly. Perhaps a step in the right direction to unlock the potential larger audience that perhaps exists but just hasn't been "asked right" yet.

That's very good news and hopefully it will continue for years to come.

The WRPF won't be happy at all. Tantrums will be thrown. Cat's will be kicked. It's all the fault of the Irish.

Well if you think about RAI obviously an acronym for "Rugby Associates of Ireland" so it's another conspiracy laughing

Not to mention being an anagram of another "well known" Irish organisation. Run

For a team in a rural area with not great transport links and population spread over a wide area, Fridays are the worst possible time slots. It's different to a team that is based in a large city.

To be fair for a rural teams Sundays are no better due to public transport issues etc.

I'm not so sure that is an issue for Munster, seems like most drive.

Would Sundays not be an issue with clashing with GAA matches? Or do the folk who attend Munster games not over lap with the folk who attend GAA matches? As if they do then they could find Munster attendances would be down.

GAA is a summer sport, rugby is winter. There is some small overlap but the real climaxes of the seasons and the big games are at different times of the year.

Even more of a shambles then, if Munster actually w nt to share the burden of Sunday fixtures yet the preposterous tv deal doesn't allow for a workaround and penalsies those that don't like Sundays.

You say that like there is one TV deal. All teams are subject to the whims of the market as we seek to maximise revenue.

I'm just trying to get it into your head that that scheduling issues have nothing to do with the Irish bogeymen you're so obsessed about and everything to do with letting broadcasters set the times of games they want so they give us more money- if we dictated scheduling to the broadcasters and they paid us less you would moan about that as well.

Yes, there should be no home games for Wales in this rugby world cup. It's a shambles that Wales get to play in Wales when a world cup isn't being held in Wales. But this is rugby union we're talking about - run by backscracthing corrupt blazers.

In what world is this acceptable:

*Rugby world cup hosted by England
*League with Sco, Ire, Ita & Wales fixtures affected.
*League with Eng fixtures unaffected.

Absolutely barking mental.

But the English clubs did want to play on but were stopped from doing so by World Rugby. Guess we're no different.

In what world is this acceptable:

*Rugby world cup hosted by England
*League with Sco, Ire, Ita & Wales fixtures affected.
*League with Eng fixtures unaffected.

Absolutely barking mental.

As usual in the ranting Chunky proves that even a stopped clock is right twice a day.

There should be no games at the RWC in Wales, the bid was for England and it shoiuld be hosted there, not in Wales however it should be pointed out that it was the WRU who got the agreement from the other home nations that if any of them hosted a RWC then there would be games at the Millenium as a top up to their income, the quid pro quo being Welsh support for any home nation bid. Maybe those WRU blazers aren't as incompetent as Chunky thinks !

Behave yourself, Chunky. Discounting 1st Jan' for obvious reasons, there are only two Fridays were teams start at 6pm, and of those the Scarlets only play one of them. Ulster and Munster play two each.

You say you would rather no games than having to play one Friday 6pm start, and a 6pm start to accommodate for RWC games. Showing your true colours, Chunky. It doesn't matter that PRO12 is a success. It doesn't matter that it's a growing success. It doesn't matter that it's the broadcasters dictate the times. You will always find fault with PRO12, and when you can't find fault you will invent it.

Share the burden with who? Munster are a Province, not a Region!!!!! If you want to complain about teams not sharing the burden then point the finger at Scarlets and Ospreys.....

You say that like there is one TV deal. All teams are subject to the whims of the market as we seek to maximise revenue.

You say that like the league is fit for purpose.

It most certainly is, Chunky. PRO12 is a success and growing in success. You're in denial.

Yup. Much more preferable. We can only dream of a professional, organised fit for purpose league like they have in England. Crying or Very sad

But the English clubs did want to play on but were stopped from doing so by World Rugby. Guess we're no different.

No different? I'd check this thread to see how different the leagues are.

You may be judging through lack of understanding or knowledge as your point above.

Sweet Jesus he just said Sunday would suit Munster better than a Friday and you take this as some sort of end run round your supposition? Are you that stupid? Immature? Ignorant/ Or are you really just a parody?

For a team in a rural area with not great transport links and population spread over a wide area, Fridays are the worst possible time slots. It's different to a team that is based in a large city.

To be fair for a rural teams Sundays are no better due to public transport issues etc.

In rural Ireland, if you don't have a car, a group will get together and hire a mini bus. My 14 year old niece and her friends are used to hiring mini buses to either play in matches or attend them. Parents haven't a problem letting them off on their own during the day, but not so happy for late evening fixtures.

Right. I can't possibly have a point. I must be incorrect.

With regards to the league being fit for purpose your point is not valid. You are obviously incorrect.

It's fine not being happy with everything in the league, Chunky, but some of your claims about PRO12 are ridiculous, and they've been shown to be so. For example; all this nonsense about 8 Irish directors in the PRO12. I don't know, but I think you pulled that out of GWlad. You read it and accepted it as canon, without researching to verify, I think. That site is full of nonsense being spouted as fact, but then it's so much easier to readily accept whatever narrative that agrees with and supports your own.

This is a brilliant example of you and other Irish posters refusing to believe fact. It's a fact that 8 of the Directors of Celtic Rugby Ltd are based in Dublin / Ireland. Therefore, it's a fact that there are more Irish directors of Celtic Rugby Ltd than any other nation.

Incorrect.

Name me the eight Irish directors. Name all executive directors and their nationalities.

What's incorrect? A GWlad poster posted that nonsense about the eight directors the same day you posted the same here. Maybe you are that poster Very Happy

I have already listed the 8 that reside in Ireland on this thread.

Residing in Ireland doesn't make you Irish!! It simply means you live there. Now name the eight Irish directors and name all executive directors and their nationalities?

Yes, maybe, what? You are that poster?
