Shot of the tournament already sown up. Dustin hits an audacious drop shot return that bounces back to his side of the net. Made Federer's through the legs lob from the other day look positively mundane.

Playing the slots dusty and it's fun to watch. He comes up bogus though 4-5 down and the set is gone. Very much his main weakness

Off the return of serve? Maybe it's the percentage play then. I'll have to give it a go next time I play.

Not so much a curse. Just the fact that the low rankers are low ranked for a reason - lack of consistency more often than not.

Got to love the smash mouth approach of Brown. What grass tennis should be about. No 2 the points the same.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Young Winston (Kerber Enthusiasm)
Troicki breaks straight back. The magic just doesn't seem there today for Dustin. Some great shots interspersed with a lot of mediocre ones. Just feel his game is too capricious to string a run of results together. Shame modern grass conditions don't give him more assistance though.

Yes but also I think on grass Nadal's game is there to be attacked and that suited Brown, raising his game.

Browns play is a bit too reckless for a long run. We can't blane that on conditions. His volleys are great, but he almost always drop volleys, and troubke is pounding them now

Can't quite put my finger on it, but this deep voiced commentator chappie gets on my wick. Think he was the guy on duty during the Isner-Mahut epic, so maybe he used up all his good material then.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Young Winston (Kerber Enthusiasm)
My respect for Troicki grows with every match he plays. He was rightly condemened for his drugs episode and it seem to confirm a player who away with the fairies in the mental department
But he seems to have come back the same player, but with a newer tough mentality. Two years ago he'd have pulled out of that Murray match as he clearly got some kind of injury, but now battles on put up a good fight
Hope he keeps this up. It's nice to see sportsmen make errors and learn from them

Troicki in firm control now leading 6-4 7-6. This is a different match for Brown. He may not like it but all the eyes and expectation is on him but it is the consistency of Troicki getting the job done.

Great tiebreak by Troicki. Got to feel Brown is done here. Troicki just too good for him.

Yes, partly that, but also a reflection of just how beatable Nadal is on grass these days. Seems hard to believe he managed 5 finals in a row.CaledonianCraig wrote:Aut0Gr4ph wrote:Troicki takes the 1st. The curse of Nadal looks set to continue.

So it's decided then, I'll drop shot the backhand and slap the forehand. If I hit even half the speed of Blake, I'll probably end up needing wrist surgery, but, hell, you only live once.legendkillarV2 wrote:Aut0Gr4ph wrote:LuvSports! wrote:Monfils hit that as well earlier.

These days? Rafa has been vulnerable on grass for the last four years now. But Brown is showing why he is ranked so low as the inability to follow up such a win is evident. Blowing hot and cold will always keep you among the low rankers.

How tedious and pointless is this celebrity introduction thing that seems to have been going on for about an hour or so?

Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Young Winston (Kerber Enthusiasm)
Troicki can be flaky. So, if Dustin can nick this set, I reckon he still has a fighting chance.
People might say there's nothing to lose for the lower ranked player in a match like this, but I'm not sure I buy that. The difference in prize money between 3rd and 4th round must be huge for a journeyman like Dustin.

Thank God for the red button. I don't mind a bit of build-up for a final, but, when there's live matches in play, I can do without the wanky montage of yesterday's action. The Beeb also seem to underestimate my ability to access an order of play from the Internet.bogbrush wrote:How tedious and pointless is this celebrity introduction thing that seems to have been going on for about an hour or so?

It was the 1930,s music playing over it I couldn't stand. God I wish Jeremy paxmn covered Wimbledon, it's all to clean. With too many montages. Just get pax to insult the intelligence of the audience and show the tennisAut0Gr4ph wrote:Thank God for the red button. I would say the waffle, analysis and chatter should be shoved onto the red button and keep the raw tennis to live TV.

Wow, just had a peek on Centre and Groth serving bombs. The noise off the racquet is incredible. Sure Rog will find a way to diffuse though. He invariably does against the 1D big servers.

The order of play gave me two things. Is young winston a play on Jo- Wilfred, and that Tsonga is in this draw as Jo WilfrIed Tsonga

This type of match, a guy like Federer will breathe a sigh if he gets two sets and no chance of losing to tie breaks. It's remote but you never know.

Feds' returning of big servers is insane.
Those blocked returns with the one hand is just mesmerising.
Djoko doesn't do that nearly as well.
