Rory a doubt for the Open
First topic message reminder :
Rory has damaged his ankle and is a doubt for The Open, although he hasn't ruled himself out yet. Did it in a soccer kickabout - when will these golfers ever learn?

Sorry, I've just seen Grumpy had beaten me to it

INW, ha ha, more like 'you don't want to be the only one in the office Monday morning do you?'
GW, at this rate I can see the odds for Gary coming right in, maybe tucking him in just behind Speith?

Terrible shame for the tournament! Must put his PGA Championship defence in doubt too, considering he has pulled out so soon and not giving it a few more days!

Yes it's a shame, but the British Open is bigger than any one player, even the world #1. I'm sure it'll still be a cracking tournament.sirbenson wrote:Terrible shame for the tournament! I don't bet but a couple of people in my office are now aware of the Boyd train and have joined in. Still 500s btw.
I get a no stakes pint if he comes in e/w. My kind of gambling...

#1 present or not, it's on TOC, and it's never an interesting tournament. Look for a week of dreariness and drabness.

....and he is still available at 500 according to William Hill....but I don't think half a dozen 606ers putting a couple a quid each way is going to sway the big boys into laying off.....

9C is a laughable 25/1 on Paddy Power.

Re: Rory a doubt for the Open
Just read on the ET website that Olesen also suffered a non-golf 'sporting' injury a few years back: he fell off a camel -- and injured his groin!!
Makes the non-golf injuries of Rory, Els, Kaymer, Jimenez etc. look respectable...

Here's how Jimenez thinks next week at TOC will be... (Unless he's paired with Kegs of course)
