Cold (relatively) as well so that'll affect distance I would think, in addition to the wind.SmithersJones wrote:I see Mr 358 just had to hit timber for his second shot on the 452 yard 13th - must be blowing a gale again!

Does feel like I jinxed the leaders, few uneasy holes...Did seem the others are just playing too well for all to give back the shots.SmithersJones wrote:Scottrf wrote:Yeah that's Speith out of contention.

What I wouldn't give to swing it like King Louis. Such a sweet swing and he can really crank it as well. Shame about the back though!

Re: THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Terrible mistake from Adam Scott.
Very impressed with Willett; he may not win, but he might next time he's in contention.

Seems like the last group is a good hole behind. Presumably Dunne will be docked a shot and Louis not, isn't that how it usually goes?

Would love that. I'm due a low round there. That low might be a tall order though.

Seems like Leishman's to lose. Perhaps once though, the closing holes might cause an issue.

What a stupidly careless miss from Adam Scott.
Oosthuizen has 3-putted twice for par. Not winning form.

WTF? Zach hits a 3w(?) up 17 like I've been known to strike it - massively fat!

Concentration lapsing all over the place. People suddenly fatting shots, hooking into bunkers, missing tiddlers. Anyone would think it was the back 9 of a major or something!

Sergio collapses like Sergio does best. One of these days he may close the deal. Not today, however.

Genuinely surprised Speith missed that one on 17. Still expect him to make 3 on 18 and win the playoff.
Even after that tee shot!

Re: THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Really? You don't think it's simply hard as buggery and he was actually trying to win but it didn't come off? It's not as if he was in the lead and made some 3-putts or hit the hotel on 17 is it?Shotrock wrote:Sergio collapses like Sergio does best. One of these days he may close the deal. Navy -- Once again, Sergio now holds as many major trophies as I do. Swoon about his new attitude and ball striking mastery, but when he needed it the most he bogeyed 3 out of his last 7 holes. This isn't the first time.

Heard in the radio the other day that zach has a superb open record. Only player to have made the cut for last 8 years. Which is a surprise.

Re: THE OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP
Certainly hope so, the putts he holed to get into the play-off were awesome, putt on the 1st green too. 2 man race now.
Think my team (louis, day, koepka, matsuyama, reed, fowler) made it to -39 in sporty's comp, happy with that; -60 for all 6....
