Was a lot of promise for him few seasons back.
Sure Wessi will guide him

What an uninspiring signing. You're going down faster than a 16 year old at the afterprom.

Cambiasso's agent and lawyer have been in london this week, either his agent or lawyer has just started following west ham on twitter..
Leicester fans are in meltdown.
Unsurprisingly, Adebayor has been linked to us and Villa. Id always take him on a one season deal, the guy is fantastic in a burst at the start of his spell anywhere, but then he gets comfortable.

Not too chuffed but hey ho, we're not exactly in a position where players are lining up to join us

at least the de gea situation is sorted, no chance ramos will be included in any deal or is leaving the bernabeu this summer, so de gea will now go for free next summer, after the euro's. don't blame united.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
The Ramos deal was always highly unlikely. For political reasons as much as anything. I'm not as fussed about de Gea as some Madridistas, especially since we can get him for free if we wait a year. Perez runs a company which generates €40 billion. He'll take Woodward apart.... Expert us to get De Gea on the cheap anyway this year.

He's young enough to learn from good players in training but not die if he gets a bit stuck there.

We signed Jordan Amavi from Nice. Only 21.
Another I've never heard of, but then i wouldn't as don't watch foreign football.
Apparantly he's a left back.
Lets hope he's not another Joe Bennet.

Why oh why would we bother, also thought of him more as a wide forward and we have more than enough of those.

You have Depay, Januzaj, Young,Mata (Better at AM), Valencia(Keeps playing RB),Di Maria(More CM) & Jesse Lingaard
Realistically you have 4 and with rumors of Januzaj going out on loan i can see why Pedro is being linked tbh.

Seems like a signing for the sake of it, I don't rate Pedro in the slightest anyway and £22mil for a bench warmer is a lot of money.

Exactly, we currently have three players better than him in wide positions and i'd want far more of an upgrade on Young if we're spending £22mil.

Id give you Mata, Di Maria is a CM now seemingly & Depay just no I know Utd fans like to rate players higher because they joined you but no way is Depay better then Pedro. He may become in future but he isn't yet.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Lets put it this way we're not going to spend £32mil on Depay one of LVG's specific targets just to sign and play somebody else in his place so yes especially one who's not even that good in Pedro. If he didn't play for Barcelona he would not be rated at all.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
I was going to continue this debate right til you said Pedro would replace Depay when Depay plays LW & Pedro RW
Pedro is rated because he's a very good winger he scores every 3.8 games which is excellent for a winger, You don't play for Barca for the amount of time he has if your not you get turfed out like Fabregas. Barca don't do loyalty just look at Abidal/Valdes.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
I couldn't care for a moment for his stats from what i've seen I don't rate him and certainly don't want us to sign him; Depay plays all across the front line as has Pedro so yes they do play in pretty much the same position. Add in Mata being largely utilised on the right then you can quickly see why I think he's a waste of money.

Tbh with 2 proper midfielders now i could see Mata being used an AM again Actually i hope that because im fed up watching Rooney in midfield he has 1 long pass and not much else...

Considering it's where both predominantly play, It's hardly an "own goal" to expect them to play in that position for their new clubs

I'm sorry but thats laughable. You really think Depay and Pedro couldnt play in a team? Id worry if you think these two are both front three players who play just one wing.

I do like the way you've taken literally 1 season into account when he's been a rotational player for whoever wants a break You might want to check before Neymar/Suarez arrived
At what point did i say they couldn't play together exactly? That would make no sense with one being predominantly left wing and the other right.
At no point did i say they couldn't play both but considering where they've played most their career so far it's where you would expect them to line up not where they will.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
So hes a rotational player who only plays one side? Interesting. I'm sorry, but we both know players like him and Depay will be used on both sides. They'd probably swap sides in the middle of games, let alone stuck to one side. I just thought it was absolutely ridiculous to laugh at HH (who I'm not always at wont to defend) for what is a likely, let alone unreasonable suggestion.

You do know what "Predominantly" means right?
It means for the most part....Not all the time, So at no point have i said either are solely a 1 wing player...

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
I've rarely seen Pedro play left wing, if ever. Usually always on the right hand side or playing central. He's a good player, under-rated & obviously overlooked, being on the Messi supporting cast. I don't see him at United, doesn't quite fit that move, I'd prefer to see him at Chelsea on the right wing, whereby he can alleviate some of the pressure put on Hazard & would help balance Chelsea's attack out, as Willian is more of a team, defensive option on that right hand side.

i dont mind the pedro signing if it comes off.
god knows whats going on with di maria and he's a ? after last season. mata is too slow out wide and cant take people on, better as a cam, januzaj has regressed, really needs a season of first team football on loan somewhere. ashley young did well for us last season for ashley young, but he's still bang average. were not going to win titles with ashley young being a first team starter every week

centre forward is a strange one for me because we only play one up front and that one is our captain who isnt going to be dropped. playing wing forwards next to him who can score is what i think lvg is going for as both depay and pedro have track records of doing that. also add to the fact rooney is rarely injured i dont see where a big name centre forward fits in

Sherwood ready to listen to offers on Guzan as he searches for a new no 1.
If true, then bit dissapointed, happy enough with him and don't think we will get much better.
Defence should be our main priority and a forward to replace Benteke.

Benteke, Delph, Vlaar and now Guzan??
Always a good idea to rip out the best players from the core of the side - especially when you're a relegation threatened side.
Think about it Timmy

Whilst that's true an injury or suspension for Rooney and we've wilson currently (presuming hernandez leaves).
Add to the fact Rooney isn't good enough to be a spear head striker for a team aiming for trophies.

If you actually think about it, this isn't Sherwood's choice, it's completely out of his hands. Two release clauses & a player not wanting to sign a contract extension. As for Guzan, hardly irreplaceable.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Spurs interested in Hernandez too. I think we're gonna have to go after Austin. Rumours that we'd swap Jarvis and/or Nolan plus cash.
Guzan is the only one Tim has a choice about, and he clearly wasn't a fan last season.
Villa apparently interested in Ighalo and Babacar.
