Nando, was it you that was creaming your pants over Teo Gutierrez during the WC? He's joined Sporting Lisbon from River Plate.

Kind of getting to the point now where I'm beginning to get a little concerned by our lack of activity - long way to go mind, but would like a few more faces in than we currently have

Would be good if Man United got a striker, we're not getting a sniff at Hernandez unless they do.
Wishlist: Hernandez, Mirallas, Lass Diarra, Song.

Teo is hilarious good player though, He makes Balotelli look mentally stable His own goalkeeper confronted him after being sent off and he pulled a gun out turned out was just an air rifle

If we do sell Di Maria for £48mil then the Pedro signing would make a bit of sense, presume something like;
Schneiderlin-Carrick/Schweinsteiger
Pedro-Mata/Fellaini-Depay/Young
Rooney
or
Carrick/Schweinsteiger
Schneiderlin-Herrera
Mata/Pedro-Rooney-Depay/Young

Looks like we'll move for Rickie Lambert once Benteke to Liverpool is done
Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Lambert is such an average signing at nearly 34. This has been a shocking window to this point. Norwich has also basically got the same side that was shocking two years ago + Mulumbu.

You've bid £6m for him, would be a great signing. He's a selfish player, but I think he would definitely add something different to what you've already got. Surprised Tottenham aren't going in for him.

Think a lot of the players have progressed since then tbf - in particular Redmond, who will boss it this year

quick tricky players always look like world beaters in the championship but very rarely can do it in the prem (taarabt, zaha etc) speed kills in the championship. in the prem the defenders are just as quick

Pretty sure he's only interested in leaving for a better team.

I think you'll be surprised, he has a lot more to his game than just pace and is really developing nicely.
For as many that have failed you have guys who have had success like Bolasie, Puncheon, Dyer etc.
Anyhoo rather shockingly I'm predicting a Norwich player to do well

Taarabt had world class talent if we're being fair. Sadly his attitude was at the opposite end of the scale.

Would like us to sign Austin to replace Tekkers.
Adebayor and Sako linked, maybe one of them on loan.
Kozak looked ok before his injury, would like to see Sherwood give him some game time.

Lambert at 34 is a much better signing than Peter Crouch, who Pulis has been after since he joined. At least Lambert can hold the ball up.

"Loïc Rémy has been told by José Mourinho he will remain at Chelsea and become an integral part of his strike force rather than leave the Premier League champions in search of guaranteed first-team football."

Mitrovic has had his medical and will be announced imminently
And we are also closing in on his Anderlecht teammate, 20 yo centre back Chancel Mbemba.
The Charlie Austin deal looks dead in the water, and apparently theres more rumours about us and Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake
Also there are claims that Montpellier and Lille have made contact with Newcastle over the availability of Algerian international medi Abeid. I think that would be a mistake as he has real potential.

Austin would be a good signing for Villa or quite frankly anyone from 14-8 in the league. Think to score how much he did for a woeful QPR side shows he has potential and I think Sherwood would do well with him. Although Villa desperately need a some midfield reinforcements otherwise they're in a relegation scrap again imo.
Keep hearing Di Maria to PSG. If we get what we paid for him I'd take it. I do like Di Maria and yes on his day he's world class but not sure he suits the way Van Gaal wants to play and isn't the team player Van Gaal wants. Get 60m for him then buy Pedro and i'd be quite happy. I think Pedro is a very good player, knows where the goal is and can pay along the front 3 and works extremely hard for the team.

Yeah would like us sign Austin.
Need guys like Gil, Grealish, Sinclair to step up now.
Also there is Gardner, who i hope plays some games.
Hopefully Gueye does well.
So while not blessed with talent, we do have some decent players, could obviously do with strengthening.
We say this every summer we need Gabby to step up, has been poor for to long, but I do love the guy.
Liam, I fear we will be in a dog fight no matter what.
Having said that roll on the 8th, fighting hard to get a ticket for Bournemouth.

Because the best striker Norwich have had in the past decade has been Grant Holt. Rickie Lambert would be worshipped like a God compared to that (though with it being Norwich if someone turned up with a lighter and a laser pen they'd immediately be made King of the Village).

Anyone know Man Utd's surprise striker, I'm guessing they need a back up to Rooney, that type of build & is proven in this league. I'm going for Charlie Austin.

If like LVG said, its not the one the press are reporting (Doesn't leave many strikers left) - then my hope would be someone like Benzema/lacazette. Really hope its not Charlie Austin, I think he is a pretty average player, who shone in a shower of cr*p last year.

Doubt it. Rooneys been anointed as the main striker so there's little appeal in another Falcao or RVP. Imagine a younger, pacier player with more credibility than Wilson is a target. Berahino perhaps.

My money is on Lacazette. Not linked as much as the likes of Kane, Benzema etc, would be a step up for him league wise but looks like the real deal.

I personally think with Rooney playing as the central striker he'll score a good amount of goals. Would love this big signing to be Bale or Muller or Ramos.

United have hardly sent shockwaves around Europe. Yes, you've spent big, but not on world class difference makers in their prime, that make Barcelona or Madrid shake with fear. You've basically signed a RB in Darmian (who LVG has stated will be behind Valencia this season ), Schneiderlin from Southampton who is an unknown at a big club with no european experience, Depay who is still young & developing & then Bastian who is a quality player but a fading force, with his best days behind him. You've not sorted the defence out & I doubt it will be a big named striker coming in, who will be happy to now sit behind Rooney all season.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
in my opinion, it's LVG trying to play the games, similar to what mourinho would do in these press conferences. why would you state rooney will play the lone striker role, then say we are after another striker. also, do we honestly believe united would pay £12m or whatever on darmian & expect him to sit on the bench, while that piece of garbage valencia plays at RB. it's all a joke from LVG.

LVG, 'We have brought Darmian for the second position behind Valencia for this season and now already because of injury, (Paddy) McNair has to play there.''

All I took from that is Valencia remains the starter (having not been disastrous) while Darmian settles in. Its for Darmian to take the position away.

Yep, Valencia is the incumbent so Darmian has to win his spot, makes sense to me
