Think Adebayor will do well.
We had a dire side with Benteke and he managed to do well.
Good thing about Adebayor is he has prem experience, so can help out the new signings.
Ok only pre season, but hearing good things about Amavi and Gueye.
Anyway lets hope we can beat Bournemouth in 10 days or i will never hear the end of it.
When the fixtures came out, we would have been one of the teams they would have been hoping to play.
Still cant believe they are in the prem.
Considering where they were six years ago.

Not transfer related
Vlad Chiriches is joining Napoli, meanwhile Jordan Veretout of Nantes is flying to England to decide between joining Aston Villa or Leicester, as the Cambiasso replacement. Fee rumoured to be around £10m

Chiriches for £4.5m or James Chester for £8m?
I have had it with Jeremy Peace. Every summer he outprices the club to deter bidders, then splashes money on needless signings while ignoring our actual team needs. He needs to go, right now.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
On Chester, 8m is extremely overpriced but as a Welsh fan who's watched him over the last year or two, he's been a consistently good player for club and country. He reads the game well, is decent on the ball and a good age. Think you'll be surprised how well he'll do at west brom, but yes, 8m is incredibly overpriced. Hull have got 15m for Chester and Brady, not bad business there.
Hopeful we'll have pedro wrapped up at the end of the week. I'll be amazed and angry if we don't go for otamendi, who's top class and exactly the type of cb we need. Blind is nowhere near good enough to be a cb other than he's left footed, so it's easier to play lcb when In possession. He'll get torn in the prem against good strikers. Dot understand why we aren't playing jones and smelling together. They did well at the back end of the season.

Barnetta peaked young and hasn't done much for years!
Gourcuff was supposed to be the next Zidane when Lyon paid a fortune for him, completely stagnated! Probably end up in Turkey.
Talking of which Mario Gomez has moved to Besiktas, Fiorentina really haven't had much luck with injury prone strikers. He was a flop and Rossi is ruined.

They will bloody budge for Villa but not for Boro....the buggers! May well scupper our efforts to bring in Rhodes now, unlikely they will want to shift there two top strikers in the same window...mind with crippling debt I live in hope! Come on Gibson get that cheque book out again!
Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Yeah, I guess it's classic Wenger, should be upgrading on Giroud & instead, just signing a back-up option of a similar mould. Strange, if true.

Premiership football, for him.
Although I don't actually think this is a signing we needed to make.
Assuming Adebayor does come, imagine he will be first choice, then either Ayew or Kozak.
If Berbatov does sign, think he may be a bit part player.
Think Gestede maybe down the pecking order.
Good to have numbers though.

Will be interesting to see how he makes the step up.
Player im probably most interested in seeing how he does is Kozak.
The new signings to, just that i like Kozak' hope he can stay injury free.
Done well in pre season.

Llorente really does seem an odd choice. He wouldn't give them anything Giroud doesn't already, and wouldn't be an upgrade. The only reason to buy him, then, is if Wenger feels that a Giroud-style player is indispensable to the way Arsenal play. Perhaps that so, but surely if anything, they want an alternative with a slightly better scoring record, rather than a worse one.
You also have to wonder what it would mean for the likes of Walcott and Welbeck, who would surely get less game time as a result. I would have thought that Llorente isn't a good enough player to make that worthwhile.
Incidentally, is there a single player who hasn't been linked with Arsenal this summer? So many of them seem so improbable. I think as soon as their board member mentioned the £200m every sports editor across the country rubbed their hands together and said "Right, that's the transfer window coverage sorted!"

Not too bothered about Austin, seeing as already have Mitrovic & Cisse. Unless we sell Cisse for £10m to Turkey or the middle-east, I'd rather keep him & sack of signing Austin. Our priority is defensive acquisitions, so not entirely sure why we want to blow £15m on Austin & Ivan Toney.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Rickie Lambert now officially signed. Personally, I think this is a fantastic signing. Perfect foil for Saido. Not one for the future but for the here and now, and for around 3 million, really good business.
Looks like we're going for Marshall from Cardiff rather than Hennessey, which would suggest one of Fozzy or Myhill will be out the door come January.
Can't see Lescott going, seems we are in the market for another left-sided centre half come full back so wouldn't be at all surprised if that meant Olsson leaving. I imagine we're looking for two more wingers, one of them likely to be Sako I guess, a central midfielder and another forward if we can bin off Anichebe or Brown to someone desperate/stupid/blind.

Ramos saga takes another turn. Cadena SR reporting nothing has been agreed in terms of a new contract and Ramos still wants the move to utd. Perez has apparently said if ramos goes then he has to go. Crazy story. Just going to have to wait and see. I seriously can't see us keeping De Gea as he's clearly desperate for the move.

Not entirely sure. Amavi, Ayew, Gueye, Veretout all from Ligue 1, if this was Newcastle, pretty sure we'd be getting slated. Gestede unproven in the PL, Crespo relegated with Cordoba & Adebayor is just completely unpredictable. Be interesting to see how Sherwood can gel this team together, want him to do well & for Westi's sake, just not totally convinced.
Think Lambert will do a good job for WBA & offer something different to Saido. Surprised we haven't heard LiamB offer up his damning view of this acquisition.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Sad to Lambert go, but obvious he wasn't in plans for this season and not sure he was for last year either. Glad he got the move to Liverpool to complete the childhood dream, sure in the future he'll always be glad he did make the move. Think he'll be a good signing for WBA, he was underrated I feel by some last season considering his successes with Southampton.
Aston Villa are going to be a real unknown quantity next year and that can be in both the bad and the good way. They've lost their two key players and have signed a lot of unproven talent to replace them. That's always a risk but Sherwood has known to be a good motivator so maybe he can make it work. Still expect them to be in and around the relegation area though.

Yeah I'm not getting carried away.
Its going to be a big step up for these guys.
The Crespo signing doesn't fill me with a lot of confidence.
Hopefully they will gel asap and we do well.
Who knows they even surprise us.

They've sold the core of their squad (which is hardly strong anyways) and replaced them with a bunch of unproven foreign signings.
Hardly a recipe for success in my eyes. A little similar to what we did the season we went down. I foresee another relegation battle on the horizon

We shall see. They need to settle in well fast.
Definitely don't see us going down.
If Sherwood can get them going like he did with Tekkers towards the end of the season and players like Cleverly than they should do well.

I was just informing people of the availability of two well known free agents, if it didn't interest you, then you move on, but certainly don't give an antagonising response, in trying to belittle one's post, which you try & do on numerous occasions. At least my posts are transfer transfer related, unlike your boring & predictable one lined posts.
As for WBA, I was in the Bristol area & went to the Rovers friendly, Lambert looked decent & scored twice. Never said he was a poor player, just his age & the fact he's a short term fix, were my concerns.

Apparently he's trashed some house he was renting & was reported to the police by the owner. He's also now bought an axe to protect himself from club staff, who are after him for not paying club fines, or something along those lines.
M'Vila has the talent, but he just seems another head case really.

Leicester agree fee for Charles Aranguiz. Impressive player. They also have agreed a fee for Gokhan Inler from Napoli. That's good strengthening in central midfield.

Di Maria set for his PSG medical today or tomorrow so can only assume we're fairly advanced in signing a replacement, most reports suggesting we want Pedro as well as one other.
Aranguiz looks set to snub Leicester in favour of Bayer Leverkusen which seems a more logical choice for a player of his proven international quality.
