Big loss on di Maria, knew it wouldn't work if we didn't play him centrally but just a pity he didn't have the stomach for it.
Just clear he didn't want to live in Manchester, poor form him going awol for pre season tour.
Good luck to him in Paris, wonder who will replace him.

I'd love to see the cash used for Griezmann personally, think a front three of him, Rooney and Depay would cause any defence problems.

That's what LVG said the other day I thought?
I'd regard Atletico as akin to Spurs, throw enough cash at them and they'll sell.

Griezmann has a buy-out clause of £43mil but can't see us going for him, the Bale rumours won't go away but the only chance we have of getting him is seeing De Gea go the other way.
It's a shame the Di Maria signing didn't work out but evidently he doesn't have the right temperament for English football and would hope he's been heavily fined for going AWOL.

If Griezmann has a £43m buyout then I'd hope Woodward is on the first flight to Madrid once Di Maria has gone.
Di Maria was fined 2 weeks wages, same as Rojo.

Looks like M'Vila is set to join Sunderland permanently, and Fer joining them too, but on loan.

Yeah, Aranguiz wants Leverkusen & now Inler has rejected Leiecester & wants to move to Fiorentina.

South American football expert (probably th excellent Tim Vickery) was saying basically Leicester have offered his club more money but the player wants Leverkusen. Who budges first really

I can't see how United are near to signing Pedro, if he's playing for Barcelona against Fiorentina tonight. If a deal was nearly in place, he wouldn't be risked.
The North East has seriously gone Dutch these days with Fer, Lens, Van Aanholt, Wijnaldum, De Jong, Anita, Janmaat & Krul
DZ, how long is Valencia out for, are you now in for Austin?

Pedro at Utd will be interesting. I see some UTD fans on twitter have already convinced themselves that the guy is an upgrade from ADM. Lol, this will end in tears. And a bench. The guy had one reasonable season five years ago. £22m is a lot even in this market.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
In all honesty, it's not entirely difficult to be an upgrade on the woeful ADM. Pedro needs to score about three goals & play well for about two weeks, to accomplish more than what that joker ever did at OT.
I quite like Pedro, hard worker, good pace & a real team player.

The rumours suggest we've now gone for Austin, but French media also claim we're nailed on for Bahebeck, and still strong links to Sow. Valencia's sounds bad, no real word yet other than "significant knee and ankle damage." Which basically sounds months rather than weeks.

As for WBA, I was in the Bristol area & went to the Rovers friendly, Lambert looked decent & scored twice. Never said he was a poor player, just his age & the fact he's a short term fix, were my concerns.
LiamB wrote:This is probably why many mid-table sides, including Newcastle fans at the time, didn't want Pulis appointed. Not so much for his style anymore, but he just seems to attract lower tier quality players, when it's a time, to actually start pushing towards progression & reaching out to bring in a better standard of player. This season is huge, in terms of survival, rivals are acquiring top players & pushing themselves away from being near the drop, whereas Pulis is signings Sako & Chester from the Championship & soon to sign a 34 year old, Rickie Lambert, who's level is really championship or below nowadays.

Never said he was a poor player, so you can quote me all you want. Just because his level might be the championship nowadays, doesn't mean he's poor, you can get good players in that league. He's a decent option, who would be good in the championship, but not for a club like WBA, who should really be attracting better long term options.

Might as well make up quotes. When you are actually quoted you still back track. No you never said he was a poor player in those exact words but I'm pretty sure a player that you think is Championship level or lower is a poor player by Premiership standards.

Rickie Lambert is a dreadful signing for Albion, made even worse if we sell Berahino to Spurs. However, having said that, any signing is better than Victor Anichebe and if it means he never plays for my club again, I'd sign Rickie Lambert's fat older brother for £10m.

Gradel to Bournemouth. Good deal.
Leicester City have wrapped up the signing of Atalanta defender Yohan Benalouane.
The centre-back's arrival is the second new signing through the door at the King Power Stadium on Monday following N'Golo Kante's transfer from Caen, with both players signing four-year deals.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
pedro's a difficult one, lots of good players haven't stood out in that barca team when you have messi as a team mate, just look at sanchez who barring one season didnt out score pedro. when pedro has played a decent amount he usually gets in double figures for goals. but there will be question marks about his size for the prem and whether he can adapt
shame about di maria but clearly he didnt have the mental strength to take the prem on. wise to get rid now while we can for decent money. he'll go put his feet up now looking like a world beater playing in a poor league. bit of a bottler

A rather pro United viewpoint, rather a few questions to be made about LVGs management re ADM.

Considering none of us are privy to what happens in training I don't see how you can blame LVG, seeing as he got Young and Fellaini playing well i'm more inclined to question ADMs attitude.

I think the fact he's going to play in France says everything about his motivation and any player worth keeping would want to stay and prove themselves instead of running off at the first sign of difficulty.

I don't see anything wrong with going to France personally, especially as he is going to the best team in France as well.
Okay maybe he could of stayed another season to prove himself as you say but who knows if it was his decision or not?

The moment he went AWOL it was evident that the decision was his 100%, any player choosing the French league over the Premier League is doing it for purely monetary reasons.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
Basically, ADM won't care about what happened at United or how some people now portray him. If anything, he's now forced a move to currently a better placed club in world football, with a top, top quality squad. PSG are a club that will win trophies on a consistent basis, unlike United, and now he's at a club that will have a realistic challenge for the champions league, unlike United, who haven't even guaranteed qualification. You can bang on about easier challenge domestically, but he's also getting towards his last twenties & will want to start winning as many trophies as possible.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
That's an elaborate way of saying that the French league is less challenging and that is the only reason why he'd now win trophies, seems like you've been taken in by Thiago Silva's fanciful claims.

ha ha trophies! yeah right! im sure he will cherish all those french league titles when he's finished his career
i dont think theres too much difference between us and psg, weve had a couple of bad years. psg a couple of ok. if you go before then we had much better years than psg. we are a much much bigger club than psg who are only where they are due to owners. ryan giggs has won more trophies than psg as a club!!

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
all you united fans do, is look back on history, it's what you were, not what you're now. di maria doesn't care how many trophies giggs won, he cares about himself, what position PSG are in currently & it's a darn sight better off than United. I'm not sure why you're laughing at PSG winning trophies, Zlatan has just notched up his 27th trophy I believe, he's not feeling embarrassed with a ligue 1 title or a coupe de france. LVG & United fans would give up some limbs, just for a sniff at getting near winning trophies currently, that's how far off you're & why you've not won anything for two years.
if you think with no strikers, other than rooney & no decent defenders & a goalie about to be sold, that you're on a level playing field with PSG, then you my friend are delusional.

Still obsessed with us I see then I see Liam, I don't suppose Ibra is embarrassed but don't try making out his or Di Maria's desire to play for PSG is for any reason other than easy money because it's not. We may not have won anything for two years but we are a significantly bigger club than PSG who domestically aren't challenged at all, I suppose Celtic are right up there too.

Re: Summer Transfer Window Thread 15/16
everytime zlatan has left a club they have improved, how many champions leagues has he won? thats what the truly great players will look for. he's another flat track bully who looks amazing beating rubbish teams to feed his own ego. 27 trophies is rubbish, the only proper trophies he has won are 1 la liga and 4 serie A titles thats it! and even then the serie A titles were extremely easy as juve weren't around
reaching the quarter finlas is some great achievement for psg is it? we did that under the awful moyes season. yet ones a achievement and ones a failure. but there a bigger club
the reason why there winning trophies is simply they play in a poor league, weve got chelsea, city arsenal etc. if you swapped both clubs we would be winning all the trophies and psg would struggle
