Re: SURREY vs SOMERSET NATWEST T20 BLAST
Cheers, JimBob.
Took me a while to spot it but Burkey is missing from last time out. No explanation given by the Club?!
Having made the squad, I'm sure Dernbach will play. Stewie said at the last forum meeting something along the lines of, ''I know he's not everyone's cup of tea but we've definitely missed him in t20''.
Very hard to see Viscount getting a game - poor guy just seems a drinks waiter these days.
I feel Burgers might at last be served, especially if we use the same wicket as for the Kent 4 dayer. Just maybe a Curran to be rested.

Thanks, Jimbob.
I'm thinking that maybe Burke's form is seen as a little fragile just at the moment. He's had to be withdrawn from the attack a few times recently....
Maybe the Viscount and Burger Van to miss out - but I wouldn't be surprised to see Burger Van playing if they decide to "manage the workload" as Adams used to say about Tremlett.

Surrey win toss and bat.
Still no Burgers. As expected, Viscount also misses out. Well called, JimBob - you there?

Re: SURREY vs SOMERSET NATWEST T20 BLAST
Fantastic treat for you, JimBob! Brilliant knock from le roi .
I was slightly surprised Third Degree went in at number 3 but that also seems to have worked very well.
Surely the bar will be open tonight!

Very comfortable victory. To all intents won by Roy at the half way mark.

Re: SURREY vs SOMERSET NATWEST T20 BLAST
I've been away for a week so haven't had any means to follow either this match or the victory against Kent. I'd seen the two results but hadn't even checked a scorecard other than that.
I must say I'm a very happy chap.
Looking at the scorecard for this match it obviously looks like a Jason Roy special. His overall career averages may still be a little down on what you'd hope for from a player of his talent. However he undeniably has the tendency to make sure his big innings are match defining ones which in the modern game is a very valuable skill.
I'm also very pleased to see Kid Curran settling into first team cricket with exceptional aplomb for a 17 year old.
Dernbach making a solid return from injury. I have often been a detractor of his, feeling for a few seasons now that his CC performances haven't been near the required standard for a senior player and international. However our one day bowling line-ups have looked short of a death bowler, which at county level he has done well consistently, so it is a very welcome return.
Also pleased to see Third Degree making some runs in the shortest format and the good reviews about some nimble glovework form That's All.
Yet more positives starting to shine through from a young side that should only improve.
