Sky Card Action - **SPOILER ALERT***
First topic message reminder :
Evening gents anyone watching tonight's card?
Action underway with Ward entertaining Branco in a bore fest. This guy has literally zero power. Seems to get caught a bit as well so not too sure how far he goes.
Should be a good card with a few good scraps.

Credit to Coyle. He could easily get outclassed but he's making it closer with determination.

Campbell looks good. If he had more sting in that jab he could be really, really good.

Coyle can't throw a shot on the back foot. Would like to see campbell get off first and attempt to push him back. He making it a hard fight for himself. Also campbell needs to raising his arms and looking toward the ref in the clinch. Its very amateurish, a good pro will exploit that.

always feels like Campbell is only 1 punch away from victory, but he's thrown a lot of leather. If coyle keeps pressing be interesting to see how his stamina holds up. Looks like he's blowing towards the end of each round. Miles ahead though.

Campbell has done well on the back foot but it's the point in the fight where he needs to impose himself and he's not doing so well.
Coyle is not rushing in so much so time for Campbell to establish the jab and start trying to push him back. But he still seems happy to counter

Think it went one knockdown too long. Maybe coyle's reputation and the brizuela fight had an influence.
Fair play to Campbell, dominant throughout, made coyle look clueless really.

Didn't turn out a bad night to watch in the end between Rose v Jones, Campbell v Coyle and Kell Brook v the English language

Yeh think he was indeed harsh on himself saying he is only domestic level.
I agree with Hearn, he would give Mitchell and Crolla a good go and give them a great work out and could even beat them.
Campbell on the other hand looks top class.....seemed like he has had 20 odd fights let alone just 12 or whatever it is. Only 27 reaching his peak years in next 12 months or so....he could easily win a strap.
Coyle will be back again heart of a lion and seems like a really honest class guy.

Was going to say the same thing fingers. Real dignity in defeat, seems like a top guy. Shane he isn't the one with Campbell's talent.

Good card, Rose vs Jones and Campbell vs Coyle were great entertainment. Campbell is still not the finished article, but he's clearly got the stuff. A level above Coyle tonight.

Although Coyle says he's only domestic class, that could be de facto world class soon, if Crolla beats Perez, Campbell beats Linares and Flanagan holds onto his strap, that could be 3 of the four belts with the Brits. So much boxing to come for him if he's prepared to build again.

Campbell is in an awkward situation at the moment, we all want to see prospects clean out the domestic scene but he is clearly above that level; Cardle won't be a test nor would Matthews or Crolla in my opinion.

Agree with the consensus on here. Coyle was full of post fight humbleness.
I really hope this nights work has earned him some good pay days. He's better than domestic level. With that level of commitment he'd give nearly anybody in the division a hard night and he'll collect a title or two. I think he's more euro level but you never know.
The UK scene is looking really competitive in a number of weight classes. The terrestrial channels could make household names and a lot of money if they were shrewd. Boxers like Coyle etc deserve the good pay days!

Re: Sky Card Action - **SPOILER ALERT***
Anyone catch the Garcia fight? Was on BT sport, really enjoyed the coverage as well. No home fighter nut hugging or ridiculous remarks....well.....Teddy Atlas with his usual slogans....
Was a decent affair, great first round of Mora vs Jacobs both hitting the deck literally seconds after one another....
Garcia vs Malignaggi was as expected, Paulie made him work for the majority, Garcia was missing very wild at times and just looked crude.
Still don't know how he is a champion. Last thre fights have been Hererra, Peterson and now Paulie.....now we have Brook a hell of a lot of stick for his poor run, but Garcia really needs to fight someone decent next. Whether that's Porter, Bradley, Thurman, Brook etc hell even Amir.....but I don't think he will unfortunately.
All in all though a good nights boxing.

Haven't had chance to watch it yet. But apparently he was down three times to body shots and got shut out pretty easily by an unproven kid in his 12th pro fight..
Add in the fact he's been decked by pretty much anything that has hasn't resembled a heavy bag.
If this guy is defacto world class maybe I will give UFC a go !!.

I don't think Truss anybody would say Coyle is world class he's domestic level at the moment, in the future he is at very best a Euro level fighter. Given the depth of British talent at lightweight at the moment, he may not even get a British title

Depth of British talent? What we have is a few domestic level fighters and a couple of euro level ones which could be matched up against each other to produce some cracking fights.

Mitchell vs Campbell is the only fight I'm interested in...
Crolla can't dig and hasn't got their talent..

Re: Sky Card Action - **SPOILER ALERT***
Is it a depth of british talent or a scarcity of talent on a world stage?
Mitchell went to the wire with linares, burns was unlucky against figueroa, crolla was unlucky against perez. all of those guys are considered at least capable world champions. Maybe our guys are a bit better than we give them credit for, maybe the world standard is poor, but if world champions dictate world class level, we have a lot of 'world class' fighters at lightweight.

I understand, in the alphabet world, where you're coming from, but are figueroa, perez and linares not world class?
