Joshua, how far will he go?
Ok guys just for a bit of fun. Were do you all see Joshua in a few years? Will he be an undisputed champion? Do you think he might just win a portion of the title? Or will he fall along the way?
I think he will be the undisputed champion within 2 years. If he can hold a shot, (rumor has it he can) then I see no reason why he won't blow away the rest of the up and comers. I think he will be too much for Parker,Wilder etc.
Anyway, how do you see this young chaps career panning out?

Re: Joshua, how far will he go?
All said Price was the real deal if his whiskers held up. Not sure there's such a thing as a pillow punching HW and as such once they get tagged there's a good chance they won't shrug it off if it was like being hit by Paulie.
Ifs buts maybes, but if he has a set of whiskers on him then he could reign for years - rate him that much. But again, he could quite easily do a Price.

My Brother sais he could go the same way as Price, hope not.
He is holding a hell of a lot of muscle. Wonder how he would hold up in a 12 round fight?

Hope so, his over whelming muscle mass concerns me slightly.

There are still too many questions marks with Joshua to make a good prediction. Still needs to go through a chin test, a test of his technical ability, a test of his fitness and a blood test. I am a big AJ fan and I really hope he is clean but that physique just makes me suspicious.

Look at the way Wilder fought against that chump in his first defence....
Awful......and he's the second best heavy around apparently..

Heavy weights are dire. Even if AJ has stamina issues with that mass, he is unlikely to go past 7 or 8 rounds with these guys.

For once agreeing with you Truss that Wilder is total garbage. Give Joshua a few more fights, potentially one or two in America and then drag Wilder kicking and screaming in to the ring. That is assuming Wilder doesn't get walloped beforehand, which there is every chance of.

Who is Joshua going to fight to prepare him for Wilder or Klit ??? and why does he need two fights in America against chumps when he can help sell PPV cards over here for Hearn...

Because he hasn't done anything to earn a title shot and could do with a bit of exposure in the US

Because he can sell PPV cards over here for Hearn whilst fighting in America on PPV there as well you dumbass. PPV in two destinations in a big fight or fight just in the UK on PPV where the event won't garner the same amount of revenue.
And my apologies, I wasn't aware a guy had to fight "lookalikes" in terms of styles to qualify him as ready for a particular style. I was saying he's more than ready for Wilder now, Wlad obviously not so much as he needs a test first. Wilder he simply blasts out of there.
(Again, that's under the assumption he's not a chinless wonder like Price).

Re: Joshua, how far will he go?
Joshua looks the best heavyweight prospect since a young Wladimir Klitschko. If he can hold a shot he could be the next dominant heavyweight.
Michael Grant was being heralded as the next great heavyweight once before Lewis wrecked him - so there's always a note of caution (especially when a prospect isn't being hit back).
I like his next two fights - the other guys will be coming to win.

Re: Joshua, how far will he go?
When Joshua gets tagged he will fall. To much hype around him he has to be 50% better then any opponent now as he is already a scalp.
Only Tyson went all the way with that kind of pressure on his shoulders and he was younger then Joshua by 5 years. Thats because Tyson was a special special fighter only ever defeated by himself. Joshua may look the part and appear as a beast out of Lord of the rings but he is from Watford and people should remember that NO hard men ever came out of Watford..........................................................EVER!
Tyson was running around the Bronx in the late 70's early 80's at 14 years of age.

Hard to say as he hasn't fought anyone yet - didn't think much of him in the Olympics possibly one of the luckiest gold medallists around - got an absolute gift against the cuban early doors after getting his ears boxed off.

Final was a decent scrap though for an amateur fight though.
Agree he hasn't fought anyone, blasting Johnson out early did sound a couple of bells though. Be interesting to see what he does to Cornish who will (hopefully) come to fight.
Looking forwards to seeing how he progresses to be honest. Looking back he's a far better version of Price - more mobile, more power, better timing, quicker etc. Hopes and dreams will be dashed if he ends up getting shocked sooner rather than later though.
Also needs someone who'll take him past a few effing rounds and then see whether we've got another Haye and thus can't fight for more than 4 rounds without blowing hard.

It's a hong kong pooey load of crap at Heavy for sure...
My guess is Hearn will let Wlad get older ....and look for Wilder in a stadium next spring/summer...Unless Fury wins...
Beat the crap out of a Whyte, Leapai and another stiff first...

I'd like to know where the "rumour" came from that he can take a punch?
From what I seen Dillian Whyte had him in all sorts of bother when he decked him (Twice).
So Adam T, where is the source of this "rumour"???

So I mention a KO that happened to AJ with headgear on, in the same fighting discipline that he has turned Professional in, and potentially fighting the same opponent on down the line.
And you equate this to a Kickboxing match, with none of the aforemention parties in this thread by way of proving a pont.
I read earlier someone said to you "and you never talk s&*t coxy?"
But I didnt think your drivel had got this bad. Stinking.

Again Sheng, note the point about both being bloody ages ago and to somewhat sarcastically discredit yours by saying they were so long ago they hold almost no water with "oh but he got decked by Whyte" due to the lapse in time/Joshua being a complete novice and so forth.
It isn't hard to understand. You were the one who made the point, I sarcastically retorted but the point still stands you made the original point. Point over.

Nope dont think its over, just cus you say so.
The article in question states that according to "rumour" AJ has a solid chin, well on the contrary the evidence that I have seen suggests that he does not, the video is on youtube there to be seen he was all over the shop when hit on the chin.
I simply asked where was the evidence to suggest this rumour, for which I have yet to hear nothing but whimsical nonsense about "hear say" and "gym talk" .....bullcrap.

Missing the point again.
I want to know where the suggested rumour came from tht AJ has a good chin???
I can provide a video evidence of him suffering in the amateurs that shows him being knocked all over the place, you guys on the other hand can only use evidence of what happened with other fighters?? As if this is some sort of proof that he has a chin?
So again, how do you know he has a good chin? What rumour is it, and where did the source of this rumour come from?

Bowe's chin wasn't superb but his ability to come back from being hurt was. Holyfield hurt him in the first half of their rematch, almost had him out with one shot in the rubber match and Golota had him on Queer Street time and again in both fights (without being able to put him away). Even Hide buzzed him. Rock Newman purposefully kept him away from punchers (Donald, Hide, Mathis, Holyfield etc.).
As for Joshua-Whyte, I'd say AJ was more tired than anything else. He'd barely boxed before and just had a playground-style free-swinging brawl. Whyte came off best on the night but Joshua has made gigantic strides since. I think he holds a shot.

Re: Joshua, how far will he go?
What a silly debate.
Does AJ being knocked over whilst a total novice prove he has a bad chin? No
Does his winning streak indicate he can hold a shot? No, he hasn't took a decent shot yet.
Truth is nobody knows the answers... Time will tell and I am looking forward to finding out.
