Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
In all the excitement of the last 10 minutes it's got somewhat lost how good Herrera's penalty was, unstoppable and should seem him take up the responsibility permanently.
Should also point out we beat Liverpool with a central midfielder up front and one in defence, admittedly Blind was yet again superb alongside Smalling, full backs were class too.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Tough game tomorrow.
Leicester have started well.
Think it will be a close game.
These are the games we need to be winning.
Goals will be the problem again this season, no Benteke to bang them in.
Ayew needs to pick up some form.
Think Gestede will do well when he gets fitter.
Looking forward to the Richards/Lescott partnership.

Both teams labored really. Right now its only City of the front runners that look to have spark and invention in abundance, you feel right now they could do a Chelsea from last season. and kill this off in the first half of the season.

I watched it with a Liverpool fan and we both kept commenting about how lovely Liverpool could pass...in their own half.
No organisation, it looks to me like very limited defensive coaching. Rodgers looks the very poor man's Wenger.

I think Rodgers could do with telling his defenders that unlike Blind they can't pass the ball.

Probably doesn't help that he's also note stubborn than Wenger. Give up on Lovren already, he's god awful

If you throw enough money at him i could see Carlo taking it. You know it's bad when even Harry Redknapp is right about your side being sh*t

Both Carlo and Klopp would be smarter waiting for better jobs. Although you could see Klopp liking the challenge.
Could easily see Ancelotti taking United or City and Klopp at Chelsea or City.

I doubt Klopp is leaving Dortmund to then take charge of Liverpool, he must have his sights set higher than that.

Re: We Go Again! The Premier League thread
Rodgers essentially lucked out with Suarez and has been living off it, guy is abysmal in the transfer market, has no idea how to coach defence and this team is hardly free flowing attacking football either.
Liverpool should get him out before he does long term damage

Ivanovic must be put out of his misery sooner than later. Chelsea the latest side to fall into the trap of not reinforcing a title winning squad.

Shame there hasn't been more talk about John Stones, outstanding game today. The nation watching his every move and he didn't show any nerves at all. Hopefully a fantastic career for club and country.

This has done enough to remind me that Man United got a little lucky in defence too.

I think the truth right now is both teams are rather ordinary, with enough scattered star power to occasionally pull out something spectacular. I doubt Pellegrini and co watched this with too much trepidation.

I always wondered why Hargreaves didn't take more after he took a great one in either the 2006 WC or the 07 CL final

The Martial finish was very Henry-esque. Not entirely sure about Skrtel's defending mind.

Wouldn't worry about the defending, the lad deserves more credit for skinning him and scoring a cracking goal. Skrtel got skinned by a good player, happens to every defender.

He's the only English player to never miss a penalty I believe, he was never fit enough to take more unfortunately.

Seemed just a tad too easy for someone of Skrtels reputation.

Dann red and Toure yellow for me.
Dann's was a yellow just for the foul, straight red for being a truly purposeful hack.

I've always liked Wright, never had a problem with his over the top passion for the England team in fact it's quite refreshing to have a pundit just say what he feels.

Thats more like of it from Walcott as a striker.
Won't see many better assists than that from Ozil mind.

Precisely.
Kelly Cates is great with him on 606, and Wright's honestly becomes insightful rather than mindless. He was great on De Gea's transfer saga a week or so back.

You'd have thought so but then again i suspect the ref will say it was a scuffle & both get away with it.
